She Becomes Glamorous After The Engagement Annulment Chapter 1065
Previously on She Becomes Glamorous After The Engagement Annulment...
Five months had passed.
Late at night.
Nora and Justin slept soundly at home until noises from outside suddenly woke them.
In the darkness, they simultaneously opened their eyes and turned their vigilant stares toward the exterior.
By now, the pair had mostly stepped back from their duties. Days blurred into lazy routines of rest and sleep at home, with occasional trips abroad. They had effectively cut ties with the outside world's chaos.
Their days flowed in perfect tranquility, disturbed by scarcely anyone.
So, who dared disturb their peace with this foolish break-in attempt?
A quick glance passed between them. Nora began to rise and stretch, ready to leap from the bed, but Justin caught her arm. “Let me handle it. Keep sleeping.”
“... Okay.”
Nora settled right back into bed. Soon enough, her breaths steadied into deep sleep once more.
Watching her, Justin felt a chuckle rise in his throat.
She truly had zero concerns for his safety, did she?
Justin slipped on a thin jacket and slipped out of the bedroom. His steps fell lightly, undetectable to anyone lurking nearby. Moments later, a faint clink echoed from a second-floor window.
His eyebrows lifted as he approached silently and gripped the doorknob.
Whoever lurked inside possessed impressive skills to bypass their home's ironclad defenses. In a swift motion, he shoved the door wide and darted inside, instantly feeling a fist hurtling toward him. He casually tilted his head aside, seized the attacker's wrist, and just as he prepared to wrench the shoulder free, a voice pleaded, “Dad! Hold on, Dad! Take it easy!”
Justin: “?”
He released the grip and flipped on the lights. There stood Alexander, the intruder revealed.
The now-sixteen-year-old Alexander wasn't just creeping about—he had picked Peter's room over his own.
With Peter now steering the company, Justin had handed him a sleek apartment right beside the office to sharpen his focus and speed up his adaptation.
No more nightly returns to bug Nora about business under the guise of lessons...
Besides, did the kid truly lack all knowledge?!
Back in his youth, hadn't Justin solved every puzzle on his own?
Plus, Nora deserved her rest!
Fresh from her overseas triumph with the championship prize, Cheryl now thrived as a university student elsewhere, no longer under their roof. Thus, only he and Nora remained, savoring bliss.
Yet here Alexander was, sneaking back...
Justin's brow furrowed. “Shouldn't you be in the UK? What brings you here?”
Alexander flashed a cheeky smile. “Aw, Dad, I missed you and Mom, so I popped back for a visit.”
“Via the window?”
Alexander cleared his throat. “Yeah, I didn't want word getting out that I'm home.”
Next, he rummaged through Peter's closet, grabbed some pajamas, and changed into them. The siblings matched in build, so the fit was perfect.
Noticing his son's lean frame, Justin paused before querying, “Does the Queen mistreat you there?”
“No way. Feasts and wines flow daily—it's luxurious.”
“So why return?”
“Dad, just drop it, okay? You tired yet? Head back to Mom and crash. Oh, and keep my visit under wraps from everyone else!”
With that, Alexander snatched a fresh towel and ducked into Peter's bathroom.
Justin: “...”
His gaze lingered curiously on the bathroom door.
The following morning.
Justin and Nora stirred awake to find Alexander downstairs, digging into breakfast.
Finishing up, he rubbed his stomach and declared, “Nothing beats American food! Their dishes nearly made me puke from boredom.”
Nora arched a brow. Justin had already filled her in on his arrival, so his presence held no shock. “Eat up more, then. You've slimmed down noticeably.”
“Hmph, without Mom and Dad around, no one fussed over me properly.”
Alexander sidled up, looped an arm around Nora's, and wheedled, “Mom, hang out with me today? Sick of that old guy's face yet?”
Justin, the thirty-five-year-old “old guy”: “???”
An urge to clench his fists surged through him!
But just then, the butler hurried in. “Ma’am, Princess Lucy has arrived.”
As soon as the butler uttered those words, Alexander sprang up and declared, “Dad, Mom. I’m going to hide for a while. Don’t tell her I’m here, okay? Just say that I haven’t been back at all!”
With that, he bolted upstairs quicker than a gale.
Nora and Justin: “????”
