My Celestial Ascension Chapter 1045: Gunfire
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
A doctor arrived at Marcus’s mansion, collected a blood sample for testing, and administered several injections to help speed up his recovery and alleviate his pain.
Due to his injuries, Marcus was also forced to wear a diaper to prevent the bleeding from staining his clothes and bedsheets. He felt deeply embarrassed about having to wear one at his age, but given his current condition, he had little choice.
’This is the end for me... My public image has been completely ruined. How am I supposed to show my face in public ever again?’
He couldn’t even imagine meeting his friends. They had probably already heard the news and were laughing at his misfortune behind his back.
"One moment, I was enjoying myself with my girlfriend and was about to experience something special for the first time... but the next moment, everything fell apart..."
His eyes grew moist as he began to sob. His hands clenched the bedsheets tightly, overwhelmed by embarrassment, anger, and despair.
"That bastard! I’ll make him pay ten times over for the humiliation he put me through!"
As he recalled Yuan’s smug smile, his eyes burned with uncontrollable rage.
The pain, the humiliation, and the suffering he was experiencing were all consequences of Yuan’s actions. In Marcus’s mind, there was no doubt that the man was responsible for everything that had happened to him.
"Until I kill him with my own hands, I won’t be able to rest in peace," he muttered, his expression growing colder as a sinister smile spread across his face.
"I’ll take everything he cares about away from him. I’ll make him regret ever crossing me!"

Meanwhile, Yuan was out on a date with Rose, Julie, and Ava.
The four of them spent some time exploring the city, visiting various interesting places and enjoying themselves together. After wandering around for a while, they eventually settled on a small café to relax at the end of their outing.
Despite its modest size, the café was quite popular, with numerous couples enjoying coffee and spending quality time together.
As Yuan and the three sisters entered, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled their noses. Their arrival immediately attracted the attention of several customers.
"This place feels so cozy... I like it," Rose murmured as Yuan pulled out a chair for her.
He did the same for Julie and Ava before taking his own seat at the table.
Several couples glanced in Yuan’s direction, and the men couldn’t help feeling envious of him. After all, he was accompanied by three exceptionally beautiful women.
"Look at that handsome guy... Doesn’t he look like a supermodel?" one woman whispered to her friends, discreetly pointing toward Yuan.
"Absolutely! He’s incredibly handsome! My boyfriend doesn’t even come close."
"What a shameless flirt. She sees a handsome man and immediately forgets about her own boyfriend," another woman muttered, rolling her eyes.
Yuan paid no attention to the surrounding chatter. Instead, he ordered four cups of coffee and several slices of strawberry cake for everyone to enjoy.
Soon, the four of them were happily sipping their coffee and savoring the delicious cake.
Just as they were beginning to relax, two black SUVs suddenly pulled up outside the café.
The sight immediately drew everyone’s attention.
Several masked individuals stepped out of the vehicles, carrying rifles and handguns.
The moment the café’s owner, a woman in her late forties, spotted the armed men, her face drained of color.
"The back door is open! Everyone, get out of here!" she shouted urgently.
"Run! They might be terrorists!" someone screamed.
Panic erupted throughout the café as the customers scrambled toward the back exit, desperate to escape the apparent danger.
Chairs scraped across the floor, cups toppled from tables, and frightened voices filled the air.
Yet, amid all the chaos, Yuan and the three sisters remained seated.
They continued enjoying their coffee and strawberry cake as though nothing unusual were happening around them.
Bang! Crack! Thud!
One of the larger masked men delivered a powerful kick to the entrance, shattering the glass door. The broken pieces scattered across the floor as the door gave way.
The armed men then entered the café one after another, moving with unsettling confidence.
Without hesitation, they raised their weapons and pointed them directly at Yuan and the three sisters.
Yuan and the three sisters completely ignored the intruders, behaving as though the men were pointing toys at them rather than deadly weapons.
What the masked men failed to realize was that they had already become targets in Yuan’s eyes. Every movement they made was being carefully observed, and he was fully aware of their positions.
Suddenly, one of the masked men approached their table and pressed the muzzle of his handgun against the back of Yuan’s head.
"Raise your hands, or I’ll shoot!"
Yuan didn’t move an inch. Instead, he let out a soft chuckle and remarked, "If I were you, I wouldn’t point that little toy at someone’s head."
"Shut up and do as I say, or I’ll put a hole through your skull!" the man shouted, his voice sharp and cold.
"I see... So someone sent you here to capture me. That explains why the police haven’t shown up yet." Yuan sighed softly, as though he had finally figured out a minor inconvenience.
"That doesn’t matter anymore. All you need to do is cooperate and come with us," the man replied coldly, pressing the gun more firmly against Yuan’s head.
He then glanced at the three sisters sitting beside Yuan. Although his eyes were hidden behind his sunglasses, Yuan could still sense the surprise and greed in his gaze.
"And why should I cooperate with you? I don’t see any reason to follow your orders," Yuan replied calmly.
"Because I’m holding a gun, and you aren’t. It’s that simple. All it takes is a slight pull of my finger to put a hole through your head." The man smirked confidently.
"You have no idea who you’ve crossed. My job is to capture you, dead or alive."
"A gun? You call that little thing a gun?" Yuan chuckled before suddenly bursting into laughter.
Rose, Julie, and Ava couldn’t help giggling along with him.
"You think this is funny? You think I’m pointing a toy at your head? Fine! Let me give you a little demonstration!"
With that, the man abruptly turned his weapon toward Ava.
Her eyes widened slightly as she realized he was aiming directly at her.
Bang!
Without the slightest hesitation, the man pulled the trigger. A flash erupted from the muzzle, and the bullet shot straight toward Ava’s shoulder.
Clink!
The bullet struck her shoulder and shattered into tiny fragments upon impact.
"Ouch! That tickled... You almost scared me for a moment!" Ava exclaimed.
She looked down at her shoulder in surprise. The impact had barely felt like anything more than a light poke, and she hadn’t suffered even the slightest injury.
"..."
The masked man stared at her in utter disbelief.
’What the hell just happened?! How is she completely unharmed?! The bullet clearly hit her shoulder!’ he screamed inwardly, feeling as though he had just witnessed a miracle.
Before he could recover from his shock, Yuan suddenly reached out and grabbed the handgun.
The man instinctively pulled the trigger again.
Bang!
The weapon shattered in Yuan’s grasp the instant the shot was fired. He had blocked the barrel with a single finger, and the resulting force tore the gun apart, sending fragments flying in every direction.
"Aaaagh!" the man screamed as pieces of the shattered weapon injured his hand, leaving it bleeding.
His companions immediately reacted. They spread out, raised their assault rifles, and aimed directly at Yuan.
Without wasting another second, they opened fire.
Da-da-da-da!
Cling! Cling! Cling!
A deafening barrage filled the café as the masked men emptied their magazines. Spent cartridges clattered against the floor while the gunfire echoed through the small establishment.
Yet Yuan remained completely motionless.
When the gunfire finally ceased, the men stared through the lingering smoke, expecting to see their target lying helplessly on the floor.
Instead, their eyes widened in disbelief.
Their legs trembled, and several of them felt as though the ground had suddenly disappeared beneath their feet.
"..."
Every single bullet they had fired was suspended in midair, frozen in place just a few meters away from Yuan.
"W-What the fuck are we looking at...?!"
The masked men stared at the scene before them, completely unable to comprehend what was happening.
"Didn’t I tell you not to point your toys at us? Now, face the consequences." Yuan’s expression darkened as he spoke.
With a casual wave of his hand, the suspended bullets shot backward toward their attackers.
In an instant, the projectiles struck the men in the head, killing them before they could even react.
Only the group’s leader remained alive. Lying on the floor, he stared at Yuan in absolute terror, his entire body trembling uncontrollably.
’What the hell have I gotten myself into?! Is that guy even human?!’ he screamed inwardly, unable to believe the terrifying power he had just witnessed.
They had come armed with guns, confident that they could easily capture their target. Yet, despite their overwhelming firepower, they hadn’t even managed to scratch him.
Meanwhile, Yuan had effortlessly eliminated his entire team with nothing more than a casual wave of his hand.
’Damn that Edward Miller! He never told me I’d be facing a monster like this!’ the leader cursed inwardly, gritting his teeth as frustration and fear overwhelmed him.
Yuan slowly crouched in front of the fallen man and grabbed him by the hair, lifting his face so that their eyes met.
"Now then, shall we have a little chat?" Yuan asked with a smile.
To the terrified mercenary, however, that smile looked more like a death sentence.
"I-I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything!" the man stammered, his voice trembling.
"Oh? Really?" Yuan raised an eyebrow, surprised by how quickly the man had decided to cooperate without needing any further persuasion.
"Well, go on, then. I don’t have the time or the patience to entertain you."
"Speak clearly. Who sent you here? Who hired you mercenaries to capture me?"
"I-It was Mr. Miller... Edward Miller!" the man answered hastily. "He paid us ten million dollars to capture you and bring you to him, dead or alive!"
His voice trembled as he spoke, and even meeting Yuan’s gaze sent a chill down his spine.
"Miller... Ah, so it was the father of that idiot, Eric Miller..." Yuan muttered, finally understanding who was behind the attack.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he released the mercenary’s hair.
"Well, since he had the audacity to send a team of mercenaries after me, I suppose I should pay him a visit sometime."
