Morris recounts the legend of Commander Xavier and his wife Simone, who founded the special department amid an era of superpowers, forging an unbreakable bond of loyalty and duty that inspired gene serum research. He emphasizes living on with responsibility after comrades' losses, touching Nora and Brenda deeply. Lisa reveals to Nora that Marcus’s mother’s condition stems from jealousy toward Brenda’s thriving life, while Brenda confronts Morris about his unspoken feelings for Nora, leaving him silent.

After ending the call, Nora came back and noticed a peculiar tension between Morris and Brenda. She didn’t pay it much mind, though. She turned to Brenda and said, “Let’s go.”

“Oh, okay.”

Brenda trailed behind Nora as they left. Once they climbed into the car, they drove back to the villa.

Justin remained on the sofa, scrolling through his phone while waiting for their arrival.

Solo, meanwhile, was engrossed in the device. He’d disassembled the box, replaced its parts with the finest available, and was now assembling them. When the two women appeared, both men looked their way.

Solo stared at Brenda with fiery intensity in his gaze, while Justin flashed Nora a tender smile.

These days, the man not only smiled more but also exuded increasing charm.

Nora glanced toward the upstairs and remarked, “I’ll go check on Marcus’ mom.”

“Okay.”

Upstairs, Lily and a psychologist were conducting a checkup on Marcus’ mom. Now conscious, the woman shrieked, “Stay away from me! Marcus, help! Save me!”

As Nora stepped in, Marcus’ mom regarded her with terror. “Who are you? What do you plan to do to me? Where’s my daughter-in-law? Brenda, save me!”

Nora lowered her gaze and stated, “Why don’t you just drop the act?”

Marcus’ mom froze for a second. But shortly after, she resumed her cries. “Marcus! Where’s Marcus?! Brenda! Help!”

Lily, standing nearby, spoke up. “This is Anti, the famed surgeon and pillar of the Alternative Medicine Association. Diagnosing conditions is effortless for her. Faking sickness is useless before her, Mrs. Robinson.”

Mrs. Robinson was Marcus’ mother.

Lily had refrained from calling her Marcus’ mother, fearing it would deepen her grief.

Upon hearing Lily, Mrs. Robinson finally went quiet.

Nora regarded her and said, “I know it’s tough for you, but the departed wouldn’t want you hurting those still here.”

Mrs. Robinson shrieked right away, “Why?!”

Tears flowed down her face as she yelled, “Why should she get to marry another man when my son is gone?! My son loved her! He died trying to save her!”

Nora countered, “No, your son died pursuing a fugitive. Protecting his teammate is his duty! Even if it wasn’t Brenda, his superior, in peril, he’d still risk everything to save them! That’s what teammates do!”

Mrs. Robinson bit her lip and fell silent.

She hung her head and whispered, “But I just can’t accept this... I just can’t...”

During their talk, Mrs. Robinson suddenly raised her eyes and saw Brenda at the doorway.

Catching sight of her, she promptly bowed her head in shame.

She’d expected Brenda to rage and grieve, yet instead, Brenda walked in and looked at her. But before Brenda could utter a word... Thud!

Solo strode in and dropped to his knees before Mrs. Robinson.

All in the room were taken aback.

Solo pleaded, “I’m an orphan who doesn’t have parents. If you’re alright with me, I can take care of you like your son in the future. Will you accept me?”

His eyes reddened as he continued, “I will treat you just like how Marcus had! I will take care of you for the rest of your life!”

He sighed and added, “Brenda is not the main cause of Marcus’ death; I am. If you must torment someone, then please just do it to me. She didn’t do anything wrong.”

Brenda clenched her jaw, her eyes turning red.

Mrs. Robinson stared at Solo. Abruptly, she knelt too and began pounding him. “You killed my son! You killed him! Why is my son dead when all of you are still alive? Sob...”

But as her blows kept landing, she suddenly hugged him and declared, “Fine, I want you to be my son from now on! You must take care of my every need and want for the rest of your life! I am going to torment you from now on... And you!”

She turned to Brenda and said, “I want you to be my daughter-in-law and wait on me every day!”

With the harshest tone imaginable, the woman spoke the kindest words possible.

Tears streamed down Brenda’s cheeks again, as she comprehended the meaning. She nodded and replied, “Okay, I understand, Mom!”

Solo chimed in after her, “Okay, Mom!”
