The Long-awaited Mr Han Chapter 3588 The End
Previously on The Long-awaited Mr Han...
She felt an immediate sense of relief.
Dong Yujie's costly sacrifice had not been in vain.
Jiang Huaizhou had lived up to Dong Yujie's expectations.
Lu Man seemed to grasp something vital as she stated, "So, it was jealousy that drove her to spread vicious rumors. If this information were to become public, what kind of detrimental effect would it have on Yujie?"
"You seem to be enjoying yourself far too much," Lu Man remarked icily.
Qu Xiangqian swiftly interjected, "My daughter is still green. I assure you, no false rumors concerning Miss Dong, ah, I mean Miss Jiang, will be circulated." Follow new stories at novelbi(n).com
As he spoke, Qu Xiangqian pulled Qu Mengyu back, preventing her from getting any closer to Jiang Huaizhou and Dong Yujie.
Lu Man declared assertively, "Yujie is my friend. Should I hear any more slanderous whispers targeting her, I will not show leniency!"
"No, absolutely not," Qu Xiangqian responded instantly.
Qu Mengyu had never anticipated that Dong Yujie would be on such close terms with Lu Man.
Even if Dong Yujie genuinely had a connection with Lu Qiyuan, with Lu Man vocally defending her, no one would dare to believe the gossip.
After all, who would lend credence to the idea of someone aiding the mistress of their own biological father, an individual viewed as an adversary?
Furthermore, setting aside all other considerations, Qu Mengyu lacked the audacity to antagonize Lu Man.
Consequently, she refrained from uttering another word.
Due to Qu Mengyu's misconduct, the atmosphere became palpably tense.
Even if Qu Xiangqian harbored intentions, the current circumstances were hardly conducive for him to introduce himself to Han Zhuoli and forge beneficial connections.
If they lingered any longer, Qu Xiangqian feared that not only would he fail to establish any rapport, but he might also leave Han Zhuoli with an unfavorable impression of him.
Such an outcome would render any future collaboration utterly impossible.
For the present moment, such aspirations remained merely within the realm of his dreams.
Thus, Qu Xiangqian announced, "We shall not impose further upon your gathering."
With those words, he swiftly guided Qu Mengyu away and departed.
Qu Mengyu, too, abandoned her previous arrogance.
She meekly followed as Qu Xiangqian led her away.
Qu Mengyu had always displayed a tendency to prey on the weak while cowering before the strong.
Once the Qu family made their exit, Lu Man approached Mr. Jiang and Mrs. Dong.
"I offer my apologies for not addressing you both sooner due to that unpleasant scene just now," Lu Man said politely.
Mr. Jiang and Mrs. Dong appeared quite flustered, encountering such a prominent figure for the very first time.
In their eyes, Lu Man's renown surpassed even that of Han Zhuoli.
They clasped her hands nervously, assuring her that all was well.
"You drove them away. We are deeply grateful. Otherwise, we would have been utterly unaware of the slander they intended to spread," expressed Mrs. Dong, her voice filled with thankfulness.
"It was nothing. Besides, Yujie and I are friends, so naturally, I had to speak up for her," Lu Man replied. "They likely won't dare to stir up trouble again, but just in case, if they persist with their baseless claims, please inform me."
"My biological father may not have accomplished much that is good, but he's proven useful this time. As his daughter, people naturally place more trust in my words. If I were to step forward and clarify matters, no one would believe Qu Mengyu's fabrications," Lu Man stated.
Mrs. Dong quickly conveyed her sincere thanks once more.
Lu Man then departed, accompanied by Han Zhuoli.
Han Zhuoli's two little darlings had already been taken to the family residence to spend time with the elder couple.
Lu Man and Han Zhuoli cherished this opportunity for some precious alone time.
The two children were scheduled to be brought to them later that evening by the elder couple.
Upon entering the private dining room, members of the Han Family and a few other relatives had already assembled.
Despite the considerable number of individuals present, the room itself was remarkably spacious.
The grand, circular table was capable of seating forty guests. The Han Family, the Shi Family, and Wang Juhuai with his wife comprised only seventeen people in total.
Ample space remained even after everyone had taken their seats.
Furthermore, Han Zhuoli's two little ones and Wang Yijun would occupy minimal room.
Each of the young children had a high chair arranged for them.
Wang Yijun was now capable of sitting upright without assistance.
Han Linxun and Han Linzhe could comfortably sit and dine on their own.
The trio demonstrated exemplary behavior throughout the meal.
Lu Man had brought along some food items suitable for the two younger children's consumption.
They ate contentedly, without causing any disturbance.
The tabletop's revolving tray moved with a smooth, automated motion, reminiscent of the conveyor belt systems found in certain restaurants.
When a dish reached an individual's proximity, they would simply take a portion to enjoy.
The two eldest members present were the patriarch and matriarch of the older generation.
Consequently, everyone requested that the esteemed elders initiate the proceedings with a toast to commence the banquet.
Old Mrs. Han felt rather unsuited for public speaking and accordingly asked Old Mr. Han to deliver the toast.
Old Mr. Han graciously accepted the request.
Lifting his glass, he declared, "Our three esteemed families, all now flourishing and strong. The Han Family has gained daughters-in-law who have become cherished daughters. Your two families have also welcomed sons-in-law who are now embraced as sons."
"Actually, my biggest concern in the past was Zhuoling. He was far too detached, caring about nothing beyond his work. I always feared he’d spend his entire life without any real feelings. Fortunately, he met Xiaoya. We owe the Shi Family a great debt for providing such a wonderful girl like Xiaoya to awaken our Zhuoling."
Shi Xiaoya's parents responded with humility, "It is also Xiaoya's good fortune to have a husband like Zhuoling."
"And Lu Man," Old Mr. Han continued, his voice filled with admiration, "that girl Man Man possesses such capability and a pleasant disposition. She was instrumental in bringing Zhuoling and Xiaoya together. Moreover, Zhuofeng and Jiling also met thanks to Man Man. In a short span, Man Man has rescued three of our Han family's single young men!"
Han Zhuoling was rendered speechless. "..."
Han Zhuofeng couldn't find words either. "..."
Han Zhuoli tilted his chin upward with obvious pride.
His wife was truly exceptional!
"Hahahaha, Man Man is truly our family's lucky star," Old Mr. Han declared, his own heart swelling with pride for Lu Man, especially considering she had given birth to twins on her very first attempt. The arrival of the twins meant the elders would have plenty of joy for years to come.
Xia Qingwei couldn't help but chuckle.
It seemed Old Mr. Han was in an exceptionally jubilant mood.
"As for Zhuofeng, achieving success with his first film was beyond our expectations. This child has certainly upheld the honor of our Han Family!"
"That is also due to your unwavering support," Old Mr. Han added. "And Juhuai, he has finally found happiness with Qingwei. I had worried for so long about him not having sons, but now, it is wonderful. He has a wife, a son, and a daughter – he truly has it all."
"Qingwei has endured much hardship in the past, but that is all behind her now. Today, Qingwei has her own thriving career and a beautiful family."
Xia Qingwei offered a gentle smile to Wang Juhuai.
All of this was a gift from Lu Man and Wang Juhuai. She had encountered a scoundrel like Lu Qiyuan in her past.
However, she felt incredibly fortunate to have such a loving daughter as Lu Man and to be reunited with Wang Juhuai. Her life had only blossomed and improved with each passing year.
Her life had not been in vain; it had been utterly worthwhile.
"These past few years, our lives have become increasingly wonderful!" Old Mr. Han proclaimed, raising his wine glass. "Today is Mother's Day."
"Among those present, my wife, Xiaoya's mother, Man Man's mother, and Man Man herself are the honored guests today. Happy Mother's Day to all of you!" Old Mr. Han announced warmly.
Everyone raised their glasses in agreement.
A round of red wine was poured for everyone, except for Shi Xiaoya, who opted for a glass of mineral water. However, no one pressured her to drink alcohol. It was understood that during gatherings, individuals would consume their preferred beverages. Those unable to drink alcohol were welcome to have water or juice, and no one would force them to partake in drinking.
After taking a sip, the formalities ceased, and the lively conversation and dining commenced.
When the fish soup was served, Han Zhuoling thoughtfully scooped a bowl for Shi Xiaoya. As Shi Xiaoya prepared to take a sip, the strong fishy aroma overwhelmed her, causing her to retch uncontrollably. Her face instantly turned pale.
"What is wrong?" Du Yiqin was the first to notice Shi Xiaoya's sudden discomfort.
Shi Xiaoya quickly set down the fish soup, her face still pale, but she managed a smile.
Han Zhuoling cleared his throat and announced, "There is wonderful news today. I had intended to share it tonight during our celebration, now that everyone is gathered here."
All eyes turned towards him, a collective sense of anticipation stirring within their hearts. They gazed at Han Zhuoling and Shi Xiaoya with burgeoning excitement. Lin Liye and Old Mrs. Han, in particular, seemed eager to be right beside Shi Xiaoya.
Han Zhuoling declared, "This afternoon, Xiaoya and I visited the hospital for a checkup. Xiaoya is pregnant; she is already a month along."
"Yes! Yes!" Lin Liye exclaimed, tears welling up. She feared her emotions might dampen the mood, so she fought to hold them back. Yet, her heart overflowed with joy. After all, Han Zhuoling was getting older, and now, he would finally have his own child. It was simply marvelous!
The two elders beamed, their smiles so wide they seemed incapable of closing their mouths.
"Wonderful news, truly wonderful news! Zhuoli has a son and a daughter, and Zhuoling will soon have a child. Now, all that remains is to await the marriage of Zhuofeng and Jiling!" Old Mrs. Han rejoiced.
The family was growing larger and more complete with each passing day, filled with an abundance of joyous tidings.
Han Zhuoli raised his glass, proposing, "Let us raise a toast to Big Brother and Sister-in-law."
Everyone joined in, raising their glasses.
"From this day forward, the Han Family will only experience good news!" Old Mr. Han roared with laughter.
The room echoed with the shared laughter of the entire family.
