The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1794: Return of the Asura Race (21)
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
Against six Primordials, Klaus was surprisingly calm. And even if six more were added, he would be fine because he already had measures in place to handle as many Primordials as were thrown his way.
Though it wouldn’t be easy, he could handle them.
But Axarax was a different story.
Klaus had already dealt with him during the Primordial Era, and it cost him dearly. Even then, he only sat on his bone-and-skull throne, issuing commands from trillions of light-years away.
Even with that, he lost some friends and loved ones.
But here was a case where he was now faced with several copies of himself.
Klaus had nine incarnations, three of which were currently unavailable. This meant that, in addition to his main body, he had only seven bodies.
Asura could not be touched, as his mission now was to continue killing until he broke through to the Supreme stage. This left him with only six bodies against Axarax’s eight.
He could cut that number down by four by pairing them against the likes of Akutaq (Blood Sabre Vampire King), Ignitia (Dragon Calamity), Aleera (Qilin Calamity), and Hunter, his father.
But he knew the kind of person Axarax was, and so he knew better than to face him lightly.
Thus, Klaus turned to the six patriarchs and said, making his words absolute... "You can choose to sit on the sidelines and watch. I wouldn’t mind.
"However, if you touch any of my wives and friends, not even a future version of me will be able to stop me from annihilating your families.
"Pick wisely because the fate of your ancient families rests on the decision you make today."
This time, the six patriarchs didn’t show any expression that conveyed either joy or fear. Rather, they seemed to be in deep thought.
They could side with Axarax and officially declare themselves traitors to the rest of the universe, or they could sit on the sidelines and make everyone believe they had a much greater purpose.
Though they might succeed in killing Asura and stopping the Asura race from returning if they side with Axarax, provoking a Paragon was the last thing they should consider.
But Axarax knew that, and he also knew something about Paragon, something he believed he would be able to use against him if he played his cards right.
"You are all here to stop him from inheriting his legacy, right? I will help you stop him, but to do that, you need to thin out his forces, and that starts by taking out the ones he holds dear to him." He grinned, and another body asked, "So what do you say? Do we have a deal?"
Klaus’s focus was on the six patriarchs, so when he saw the crack, he immediately issued a command.
"ASMODEUS!"
But it was already too late.
Axarax had already made his move.
All eight bodies moved, and while Klaus had the power to stop at least two, the remaining six had more than enough time to get close to the cage.
And so they did, and the cage that wasn’t supposed to open for another 20 minutes opened, freeing the six patriarchs.
"This is the price you pay for crossing the heavens and the ancient families," Drakhar said, and he moved, his fist smashing toward Lily.
BOOM
Lily crossed her sword against her chest. However, the impact broke her arm, causing it to go limp as her body shot through the air like a cannonball.
"LILY!"
Nari shouted, flapping her phoenix wings as she shot forward, catching Lily before she slammed into the mountain she was flying toward.
"Think about yourself first, Calamity." Drakhar arrived before Nari, who hadn’t even finished landing, Nari still in his arms.
Drakhar punched, intending to make sure Klaus felt real fear.
"Pick someone your own size."
BOOOM
Vida’s punch landed on Drakhar’s jaw, sending him flying away, blood gushing from his mouth. The punch broke his jaw, but a Primordial’s healing speed was just too fast for anyone to notice that Vida had shattered his draconic jaw.
It healed almost instantly.
"Take her to Lucy."
Vida said to Nari before she rushed over, intending to hold back Drakhar for as long as the gate remained closed.
But while one patriarch had been taken off the battlefield, the other five were still at large, and they all stood in the air, watching the ladies with grins on their faces.
Meanwhile, Axarax blocked Klaus, Paragon and Rhazor.
Klaus’s other incarnations had already been blocked by some chaos beasts that were already closer to the Primordial stage.
Asmodeus, who had been given an important mission, had also arrived at the location where the ancient family warriors were fighting.
"Undead Rise."
From their ranks, the warriors from the ancient families who had died fighting the chaos beasts rose to their feet. The dead chaos beasts also rose to their feet.
"Bastard, what are you doing?" Tikkun asked, his expression showing both anger and fear.
"Asmodeus, kill them all." Paragon didn’t respond to Tikkun. Instead, he made the statement that sent a chill down everyone’s spine.
"With pleasure."
Asmodeus pointed his staff toward the ancient warriors who were already being besieged by thousands of chaos beasts.
"KILL!"
The warriors and chaos beasts he had raised from the dead moved and started slaughtering their former friends and comrades.
"NOOOOO!"
Tikkun shouted, intending to rush over and save those whom he could save. However, he only took two steps before Asmodeus’s 24 Pseudo-Primordials, Asha’s 12 Pseudo-Primordials, and Nadia’s 10 Pseudo-Primordials blocked him and the rest of the patriarchs.
"I have already warned you all. Attacking me is fine, but if you dare touch my wives, that is where you cross the line. Now, you will pay the price for it."
"Kill them!"
The Pseudo-Primordials moved, and the five remaining patriarchs turned pale.
But Klaus wasn’t done...
"Asmodeus, prepare the portals to the ancient families. Once we are done here, we march there, and we will not leave until every last one of them is dead."
This time, even his own warriors felt a chill run down their spines. However, when they turned and looked at the coldness in his eyes, none of them dared to say anything.
They could tell that Klaus was angry, and as they say, an angry Paragon is a dangerous and unreasonable demon.
