Andreas and Daniel return to the Lionheart family fortress. News of Lioran's arrest for murder has spread, casting a shadow over their arrival. Andreas heads to the family council to address the situation, while Daniel decides to visit the training grounds where he used to teach. He encounters his former student, Avina, who greets him warmly, referencing his past nickname of "handsome brother."

Avina hugged him so tightly that it seemed if she let go, he would disappear again.

"Did you miss me?" Daniel asked in a quieter voice.

"Of course." Avina answered immediately. She pulled her head back and looked at him with a childish pout.

"Do you know I waited every day for you to come back? Every time a ship or a new group arrived, I thought maybe you’d be with them." She frowned slightly.

"I was starting to think you’d forgotten me."

Daniel placed his hand on her head and gently stroked her pink hair.

"Of course not."

Avina looked at his face carefully for a few moments, as if wanting to make sure he wasn’t just saying that to calm her down.

Then she smiled.

"Then why did it take so long?"

"I had things to do."

"Everyone always says that."

"But I really did have things to do." Daniel kept his smile.

Avina nodded, seemingly dissatisfied, but her joy was so great that she couldn’t even frown for a few seconds.

"When did you arrive?"

"Just now."

Avina’s eyes lit up again.

"So I was the first person you came to see?"

Daniel was silent for a few moments.

Avina looked at him expectantly.

"Almost." He finally said.

Avina took that half-answer entirely in her favor and nodded with satisfaction.

"I knew it."

Daniel glanced at her training clothes. She wore a short white and pink robe, with the insignia of the family’s young instructors on her arm.

"What have you been doing during this time?"

That question alone was enough for Avina to start talking enthusiastically.

"I finished my formal training course."

"I even came third among all the students in my cohort in the final exam." She raised her fingers with pride.

"Then I was sent on two missions."

"Once we went to the southern border and captured a group of magical smugglers."

"The second time, I went to protect a family caravan." Her eyes sparkled.

"I also got a good rank in the internal exam." Then she gestured toward the group of young people behind her.

"And now I’m teaching the newcomers." She puffed out her chest with pride.

"I’m an instructor now."

Daniel looked at the students who were still watching them from a distance.

"Then these kids are in trouble."

"I’m very kind." Avina immediately objected.

One of the young students standing a few meters away involuntarily and seriously nodded.

"That’s right, Lady Avina never gets angry."

"I’m not like you, who trains students until they’re on the verge of death."

Upon hearing this, one of the young people looked at Daniel with even more horror.

"But it worked." Daniel said indifferently.

"Your students still fall silent when your name is mentioned."

"That means they respect you."

"No, it means they’re still scared." Avina laughed, and then it was her turn to ask questions.

"Where did you go? What did you see? Did you fight again? Did you see strange people? What about monsters?" The questions came out of her mouth one after another.

Daniel only told the simpler parts of his journey. About the cities he had seen, the long routes.

About a few different lands and some events that could be mentioned without referring to the real dangers.

He said nothing about deadly wars, other stories, or his terrifying experiences.

Avina didn’t need to hear those parts. For her, just seeing Daniel standing before her safely was enough.

After a while, one of the students hesitantly approached.

"Lady Avina..."

Avina turned her head. The young man gestured toward the group behind him.

"The others are waiting to continue training."

Avina looked dissatisfied for a moment. Daniel also looked at the training ground.

Several young people were waiting, and some were still trying to examine him without staring openly.

"I think they’re waiting for you."

Avina looked at her students, then back at Daniel.

"Yeah, but I want to talk with you more."

"I’ll be here for a while. Don’t worry."

"Promise?" Avina asked hesitantly.

"Of course." Daniel answered without pause.

The girl looked carefully at his face for a few moments, as if trying to find any sign of a lie or evasion.

When she found none, her smile returned.

"Then I’ll find you later."

Before turning back, she hugged him briefly again, then returned to her group with light, happy steps.

When she reached the students, several immediately started asking questions.

"Who was that?"

"Is he really your brother?"

"Why do you call him handsome brother?"

"I’ll explain later." Avina answered with the same smile.

Daniel stood there for a few more moments. The sound of training gradually returned to the ground.

But the curious looks of the young people still turned toward him every few seconds.

He didn’t care. This girl had matured more than he had thought. Of course, she had still kept her simple and innocent personality.

He had promised this girl before that he would come to see her when he had free time. A considerable amount of time had passed since then, and Avina had also grown older.

It wasn’t just about physical maturity. In terms of speech and behavior, she seemed much more mature than the last time he had seen her.

Back then, she was just a wounded girl seeking attention and affection.

But now she had become one of the popular and well-known figures among the family’s new generation.

Then he took his gaze from the training ground and looked toward the northern mountains of the fortress.

Atop one of the peaks, a white palace stood alone in the mist. The mansion was far from the family’s other buildings.

No public path led to it, no visible guards could be seen around it.

And unlike the other parts of the fortress, not even a flag was installed on its walls.

Still, the invisible pressure coming from that area could be clearly felt.

Flying creatures changed their path before reaching the peak.

The wind flow around the palace was different, and even the clouds seemed to pass by it cautiously.

Daniel looked at it for a few moments, then his body silently disappeared.
