The protagonist and the Saints finally reached the Twelfth Soul Current, who revealed herself to be a living being named Viserys. Viserys displayed immense power, even temporarily manifesting an endless library before Macaco intervened. Angered by the interference, Viserys turned her attention back to the protagonist, demanding to know their intentions, and then unleashed an overwhelming aura of malice.

The space beneath my foot cracked.

Then I released my aura.

There was no restraint this time.

My Soul Force erupted from my body like a collapsing star, and the authority of my existence surged outward in every direction. The pressure surrounding us collided with the darkness pouring from Viserys, creating an invisible shockwave that tore across the battlefield.

The two forces pushed against one another.

For the first time, Viserys’s expression changed.

Her black eyes narrowed slightly as she looked directly at me.

I met her gaze.

"We are here to capture you and take you back with us."

For several seconds, she simply stared. Then the corners of her lips slowly curved upward.

It wasn’t a smile of amusement.

It was the condescending expression of someone who had just heard a particularly amusing joke from someone far beneath her.

"Capture me?"

Her voice carried a strange calmness.

"I should like to see you try."

She raised one hand and simply waved.

A deafening BOOM erupted across the battlefield as an unimaginable force slammed into us.

I barely had time to reinforce my body before the impact reached me. It felt as though an entire planet had been thrown directly into my chest.

My body was launched backward.

So were the others.

Kaelra crashed through the air like a broken projectile. Sue disappeared into the distance while the Elven King was thrown helplessly through the sky. Gerald’s body spun violently as he attempted to stabilize himself, only to be struck by another wave of force.

I tried to resist.

My feet dug into the air as I forced my Soul Force outward, but the pressure was simply too overwhelming. It wasn’t an attack I could block through brute strength. The force surrounding me seemed to possess the weight of an entire world.

My body continued flying backward.

The barren ground rushed toward me.

Then I crashed into it.

The impact created a crater several hundred meters wide as my body slammed into the earth like a meteor. The ground beneath me shattered, and the shockwave tore outward through the battlefield.

For several seconds, I remained buried beneath the rubble.

Then I slowly pushed myself upright.

Blood trickled from the corner of my mouth.

I looked toward the distant figure standing calmly before the enormous open doorway.

Viserys hadn’t moved.

She hadn’t even bothered to follow us.

She simply stood there with her hands behind her back, looking at the devastation she had caused with the same expression someone might wear after brushing dust from their clothes.

ROAR!!

A dragon’s roar suddenly tore through the battlefield, so powerful that the surrounding air trembled beneath it. Kaelra’s enormous silver form surged out of the crater she had been driven into, her wings spreading wide as she climbed into the sky. Scales gleamed beneath the dim light while her jaws opened, and I felt an enormous concentration of Soul Force gathering within her throat.

The next instant, a thick torrent of silver-white flame erupted from her mouth.

The beam tore through the air with terrifying speed, leaving a molten trail across the battlefield as it raced directly toward Viserys.

I wasn’t about to let her attack alone.

I planted my feet against the fractured ground and clenched my fist. Soul Force condensed around my arm until the surrounding space began to distort beneath the pressure.

"Absolute Destruction."

My fist shot forward.

A silver beam exploded from my punch and tore across the battlefield, traveling directly toward Viserys’s head while Kaelra’s enormous stream of dragon flame swept toward her from the opposite direction. The two attacks arrived almost simultaneously, one aimed at her head and the other threatening to engulf her entire body.

Viserys’s expression finally changed.

The indifference disappeared from her face, replaced by a trace of seriousness as she extended one hand toward the incoming attacks.

Darkness gathered before her palm.

It wasn’t ordinary darkness.

A thick, viscous substance appeared in the air, resembling an endless pool of black liquid suspended in space. It flowed and twisted without falling, its surface carrying an eerie depth that made it seem as though an abyss had been condensed into physical form.

My Absolute Destruction struck first.

The silver beam crashed into the black surface and disappeared into it.

A heartbeat later, Kaelra’s flames engulfed the same barrier.

The dark liquid rippled violently.

Then the battlefield exploded.

A tremendous detonation swallowed Viserys completely, sending a wave of heat and Soul Force across the surrounding wasteland. The ground beneath us split apart as the combined force of our attacks tore through the air, while clouds of dust and debris rose high enough to obscure the battlefield.

I narrowed my eyes.

Then the smoke began to clear.

Viserys was still standing.

The black liquid remained suspended before her, its surface slowly settling after absorbing the combined attacks. Not a single wound could be seen on her body.

"Weak. You are—"

She had barely begun speaking when a figure flashed into existence behind her.

Evelyn.

She emerged from the distorted space without warning, an enormous ice spear already formed in her hands. Unlike the broad attacks she had used against the Goruns, this weapon contained all of her power within a single razor-sharp point.

She thrust it forward.

The spear shot directly toward Viserys’s heart.

At the exact same moment, another presence appeared to Viserys’s left.

Sue Astral.

Both of her palms were raised toward Viserys, and golden light immediately poured from them. The light spread outward in a rapidly expanding field, covering Viserys’s body before she could turn toward Evelyn.

The world around Viserys froze. Time itself stopped.

The dust suspended in the air became motionless. The flames scattered across the battlefield ceased flickering, and even the ripples across the black liquid before Viserys’s palm froze in place.

Sue had completely locked the surrounding flow of time.

Viserys’s body stopped with it.

Evelyn’s ice spear continued moving through the frozen space, its tip closing the final distance toward Viserys’s heart while Kaelra’s flames still burned across the battlefield behind them.

The ice spear was almost upon her when Viserys’s black eyes shifted toward it.

Something changed.

The frozen world around her suddenly trembled.

A thin crack appeared across the golden temporal field surrounding her, followed by another. Sue’s expression tightened as she poured more power into the technique, but the cracks continued spreading as though the very concept of stopped time was being forced apart from within.

Then Viserys moved.

The frozen air shattered.
