The Strongest Legend of Dragon Ball Chapter 934: Epilogue
Previously on The Strongest Legend of Dragon Ball...
In the frigid northern expanse, vast snowflakes descended, cloaking the majestic mountains and rivers in a blanket of white. This was the empire's northern territory, a land perpetually encased in ice and snow.
On this particular day, the usual biting wind howled from the far north, and within the frozen woodland, only the whistling of the gusts could be heard. The wildlife, hardy enough to endure such extreme conditions, sought refuge from the blizzard.
The snowfall persisted, but suddenly, a sound like thunder ripped through the sky. If it were ordinary winter thunder, this was far too deafening. Following the immense noise, a startling purple fissure tore open in the heavens… A colossal sphere erupted from this rift, hurtling directly towards a mountain's summit.
Had anyone been present below at that moment, they would have undoubtedly been struck with terror by this surreal spectacle. Mere seconds later, the earth convulsed violently, a wave of heat radiated outwards, and within tens of kilometers, the snow and ice instantly vaporized…
…
“Xiaya, where are we? And why is it so freezing?” Xiling shivered, pulling her arms closer. This marked their inaugural foray into the Infinite Super-Dimensional Space, and upon entering, they quickly grasped its immeasurable vastness. However, the stellar winds within raged with such ferocity that they were compelled to find a “relatively modest” cluster of light nearby to escape the tempest.
That very cluster of light was the current world they found themselves in. Xiaya surveyed their surroundings, noting that aside from the area devastated by their arrival, everything else stretched out as a boundless white expanse, signifying a remote, desolate polar region. A distinct aura permeated the atmosphere, indicating that this world was no ordinary, low-level realm. In truth, within the Infinite Super-Dimensional Space, over half the worlds were commonplace, devoid of any sentient cultivators. These ordinary worlds ranged from technologically advanced civilizations to modern societies, and even classical “ancient realms.” All were manifestations of fictional universes spawned from diverse cinematic and literary works.
Relatively speaking, intermediate and high-level worlds were considerably rarer, with a prevalence of low-level worlds at a certain tier. An enormous eleven-star world, such as the Dragon Ball World, was exceptionally uncommon. “Let’s move, let’s explore this world!” Xiaya declared, then ascended into the air, the mountainous landscape unfolding beneath him.
Everywhere the eye could see was a vast white panorama, stretching for thousands of miles, all uniformly covered in snow. “Hey, look, there appears to be a person up ahead!” Myers suddenly exclaimed, pointing towards a spot not far away where a small brown speck stood out against the immense whiteness. “Let’s go investigate!”
As the words left his mouth, the group blinked, instantly materializing before the tiny speck. Upon closer approach, they discovered a figure lying on the snowy ground. The individual possessed flowing, ice-blue hair reaching their waist, a band tied around their head securing their hair in a ponytail. Their pale cheeks were visible, along with their knees and half their calves. Despite the biting cold, the person was clad only in what appeared to be a loose, robe-like garment.
“Father, this girl is so tiny!” Meifei exclaimed loudly. As a tall and graceful young woman herself, she couldn't help but perceive the young girl before them, who seemed to be only eleven or twelve years old, as incredibly diminutive. Xiaya glanced back at his daughter. Initially, he hadn't planned to bring Meifei on this expedition, but she had insisted on tagging along. Unable to simply dismiss her, he had relented and accepted this uninvited companion. Meifei, entirely oblivious to her father’s perception of her as a tag-along, regarded the young girl on the frozen ground with curiosity. The girl had a delicate face and was quite adorable. She wore a loose robe on her upper body, black shorts, and a pair of high, white padded shoes…
The girl was dragging a 'rope' fashioned from an unidentified material. Currently, one end was firmly grasped in the little girl’s hand, while the other extended outwards, trailing a massive brown monstrosity! The enormous creature had already succumbed, unconscious, or more accurately, deceased. The small speck that Xiaya and the others had initially spotted was, in fact, the body of this very beast. “It’s truly bewildering, a small girl lying unconscious in this frozen wasteland, clutching a dead behemoth…” Xiaya mused aloud. Could this young girl possess the same innate qualities as Goku did in his youth? “Xiaya, enough pondering. Let’s rescue this little girl and take her with us. Otherwise, she’ll freeze to death right here.”
“Understood.” With his assent, Xiaya gestured, and a blade of ki sliced through the rope binding the girl’s hand. He then stepped forward and gently lifted the young girl.
Time passes swiftly, and eight years have vanished in a flash.
Over these eight years, the ancient empire, steeped in history, began to exhibit the telltale signs of dynastic decline. Internal decay festered, widening the chasm between the affluent elite and the common populace. Uprisings erupted across the land, their momentum swelling like a raging wildfire.
The people's suffering intensified, and discontent smoldered. The entire empire seemed plagued by widespread hardship. Yet, those in power remained oblivious, preoccupied instead with military endeavors, ruthlessly quelling rebellions and extracting resources solely for the opulent enjoyment of the imperial aristocracy.
Along the northward route of the empire, a formidable contingent of fifty thousand soldiers was meticulously escorting vital supplies to the northern frontlines.
There, incursions by foreign powers had escalated alarmingly. Reports from the front lines confirmed the brutal massacre of dozens of border towns by these encroaching nations.
Clatter, clatter… The rhythmic grinding of wheels filled the air. Leading this seemingly unending procession was a woman clad in pristine white military regalia, her posture regal atop a fiery crimson steed. Her long, ice-blue hair cascaded in the wind, accentuating her statuesque frame and commanding presence, radiating an aura of sheer arrogance.
Three formidable warriors trailed in her wake.
Liver, astride his own grand mount, remained in stoic silence. This silver-haired middle-aged man possessed a comely visage and an air of refined sophistication. His gaze lingered momentarily on the female general ahead, momentarily captivated by her elegant and alluring form, before shifting swiftly to one of profound admiration and wistful longing.
Beside him, however, a petite and adorable orange-haired youth, identified as Nyau, could no longer contain his mounting unease. He pouted, turning to his companion. “Didn’t His Majesty dispatch us to subjugate the northern foreign tribes? Then why is Lady Esdeath leading us eastward, in the opposite direction? I’ve heard rumors of substantial concentrations of perilous beasts dwelling in that region!”
Daidara, a hulking man of considerable height, erupted in hearty laughter upon hearing Nyau’s query. He extended a hand, clasping Nyau’s slender shoulder gently.
“What’s the fuss? Lady Esdeath has her reasons for choosing this path. As long as we can engage formidable adversaries, it hardly matters if they are the northern tribes or savage beasts!”
Nyau, subjected to Daidara’s patting, nearly tumbled from his majestic steed. Gritting his teeth in vexation, he retorted, “Daidara, refrain from applying such excessive force!”
Daidara, upon hearing this, cast a glance at Nyau’s delicate limbs. Nyau’s face was exquisite, his attire that of a charming young lady. Daidara chuckled, remarking, “Nyau, you possess many fine qualities, but why this incessant penchant for flamboyant attire? Unsuspecting observers might mistake you for a comely young maiden!”
“I find it most pleasing!” Nyau declared with evident pleasure. “Do you not agree that small, adorable creatures and charming girls make for the most exquisite collections?”
He fiddled with his garments, adding, “I commissioned this outfit at considerable expense from a skilled tailor!”
“Nyau excels in numerous aspects, but your peculiar fascination with collecting feminine visages might, regrettably, lead to future complications,” Liver interjected, his gaze drifting towards them.
“Oh, come now! Given our esteemed reputation as the ‘Three Beasts,’ who would dare to court trouble with us?” Nyau responded with an indifferent shrug.
“Yet, I understand you were apprehended and reprimanded just last month due to precisely that behavior. I wonder if your captor was male, and if they perhaps…” Daidara’s expression turned suggestive.
At this insinuation, Nyau’s fury ignited. “Daidara, utter such words again if you dare, and I shall dismember you!”
“Enough! All three of you, maintain silence!” Esdeath’s voice cut through the air as she turned to address her subordinates.
In deference to the Empress’s command, Liver, Daidara, and Nyau immediately ceased their exchange. After a brief pause, Daidara spoke, “You see? You’ve managed to displease Lady Esdeath!”
Nyau, feeling unjustly accused, grumbled under his breath, “I merely requested those women’s assistance in crafting the ‘masks.’ Who could have foreseen the arrival of that troublesome individual? Still, that troublemaker possesses remarkable beauty. It would be truly magnificent if she were to collaborate with me on the ‘masks’.”
…
As the rhythmic pounding of hooves subsided, the group reached the base of a towering mountain as dusk began to settle.
“Establish camp here, everyone. Liver, Daidara, and Nyau, your duty is to maintain the security of the army. I have pressing personal matters requiring my solitary attention. Tomorrow morning, we shall commence our march northward as a united force!”
With these words, Esdeath, amidst the astonished gazes of her retinue, ventured forth alone, guiding her steed along a narrow path and disappearing into the mountainous wilderness.
Not long after, Esdeath arrived at a venerable, ancient castle.
This formidable structure was perched midway up the mountainside, fronted by an expansive open space, vast enough to encompass hundreds of football fields, demarcated by a sturdy wooden railing. From this elevated vantage point, the vista evoked the serene splendor of an immortal’s sanctuary, offering an unobstructed, sweeping panorama of the entire landscape below.
For a moment, Esdeath remained stationary before the familiar courtyard. Then, with a decisive motion, she drew the long sword from her waist. A forceful stomp of her foot signaled her swift attack upon a blue-haired woman within the courtyard.
The woman, who had been leisurely sweeping the ground, suddenly perceived a tall figure charging towards her. A brief hesitation followed as she dropped her broom and raised a palm in mid-air–
A resounding bang echoed as Esdeath’s sword was violently flung aside.
Subsequently, she propelled herself high into the air, unleashing a powerful leg sweep that crashed downwards.
“My, my, Esdeath, you’ve certainly grown fierce after these few years away. Attacking me of all people,” Launch, the blue-haired woman, remarked with a smile. She was elegantly dressed, and Esdeath, clad in her white military uniform, found her gaze met by Launch’s. With an effortless touch, Launch brushed Esdeath’s leg away.
When this young girl had departed previously, her presence was already striking. Now, however, she exuded an undeniable aura of a queen.
Esdeath was unceremoniously forced to one knee, a circular shockwave radiating outwards from the impact point on the ground. After a brief pause, Esdeath, her expression unreadable, retrieved her sword from the grass. Sheathing it, she approached Launch, a warm smile gracing her lips. “Sister Launch, your power remains as formidable as ever!”
Even after all these years, Esdeath had not fully fathomed the true extent of Launch’s capabilities.
A loud crash, immediately followed by a startled cry, ripped through the air.
Launch and Esdeath simultaneously turned, discovering Meifei hoisting a thirteen or fourteen-year-old orange-haired “girl” from the ground.
Nyau thrashed and kicked, yet remained utterly immobilized within Meifei’s firm grip.
A wave of regret washed over him. Driven by curiosity, he had followed Esdeath, only to unexpectedly encounter a woman who could so easily overpower the “queen.” To his dismay, he then realized his own feared nemesis was also present.
Recalling the harsh “discipline” he had endured just one month prior, Nyau’s face paled, and he felt on the verge of tears.
“Meifei, release him. He is my subordinate!” Esdeath interjected swiftly.
“Oh.” Meifei regarded Nyau with a smile that held no warmth and then let him go.
“Esdeath, it’s been ages since we last saw each other, hasn’t it?” Meifei recalled the last time she had visited the imperial capital to find Esdeath, only to discover she was away on official duties. Seizing the opportunity, a bored and idle Meifei had captured Nyau for a sparring session.
“Indeed, it has been over three years since our last meeting,” Esdeath replied with a smile.
She was now slightly taller than Meifei, and for the first time, she experienced a genuine sense of accomplishment standing before her.
“Speaking of which, you’ve returned with a considerable army this time. Are you preparing to march north? I heard the situation with the northern tribes has escalated.”
Esdeath nodded, stating, “The empire has dispatched me to quell the conflict in the north. I lead fifty thousand troops! As I was passing through the vicinity, I decided to stop by!”
Meifei nodded and circled Esdeath, her gaze filled with suspicion. “I can’t shake the feeling you have ulterior motives.”
“As expected, nothing escapes your perception…” Esdeath spoke, a delicate blush coloring her cheeks. The queenly aura around her softened with a hint of bashfulness. “Furthermore, I’ve reached the age of twenty, and in the capital, they say girls my age ought to be seeking a husband…”
“And then?” Meifei inquired, raising an eyebrow, still perplexed.
“I’ve also come to realize that I am indeed at the age to find a husband. However, to be my husband, Esdeath’s husband, he must possess not only extraordinary abilities but also be stronger than myself. Only a man capable of conquering me is truly worthy of being my husband. After considerable thought, I could only come here.”
“What!” Meifei exclaimed, genuinely startled by Esdeath’s declaration. Such an idea was incredibly perilous! Meifei considered Esdeath a dear sister, a younger one at that, yet Esdeath now wished to become her stepmother. How could this possibly be?
“Meifei, I implore your assistance. Aside from your father, I cannot conceive of another man suitable for me.”
Xiaya’s immense strength had captivated Esdeath, a power that had been deeply etched in her heart since childhood. Despite acknowledging Xiaya’s significant age advantage and his status as her good friend Meifei’s father, Esdeath’s masochistic and bold nature fueled her determination to make him her husband.
The mere prospect of possessing such a powerful husband filled her with ecstatic anticipation.
“No, no, this is simply not feasible!” Meifei vehemently shook her head.
“Is it truly impossible?” Disappointment flickered across Esdeath’s face. She cast a glance at Nyau, who had stood dumbfounded beside them for quite some time. A smirk played on her lips as she proposed, “If you agree to aid me, would you accept Nyau as a… gift? While this young man has a few rough edges, with proper cultivation, he possesses a promising future.”
“Absolutely not!” Nyau mentally shrieked. It was bad enough that her Majesty was resorting to such desperate measures to “sell herself,” but why must he be dragged into it?
…
“Esdeath’s combat strength is assessed to be around three hundred. Should she unleash the world’s so-called ‘Teigu,’ she would possess unparalleled might within this realm!” Deep within the ancient castle, Xiaya was seated across from Xiling, Myers, and Android 18. They had never anticipated that the young girl they had rescued years prior possessed such immense potential.
She was unequivocally a character on the same tier as a “protagonist” in this world!
“However, our Queen appears to have certain personality deficiencies; her methods are excessively extreme,” Xiaya remarked with a frown.
From his recollection, Esdeath, the Queen in “Akame ga Kill,” was once innocent in her youth. Subsequently, influenced by the philosophy of “survival of the fittest,” she gradually cultivated her sadistic queen persona. Ultimately, due to her warped perception of love, Esdeath engaged in a fatal confrontation after the main character, Tatsumi, met his demise.
Such individuals are quite tragically destined.
“For the present, let us concentrate on resolving the immediate predicament,” Xiling stated with a gentle smile, her gaze fixed upon Xiaya.
Xiaya responded with a wry shake of his head, uncertain how to frame his reply. Ah, men, once they achieve a certain level of prominence, women invariably vie to bestow themselves upon them. Such a vexing predicament!
The following morning, Esdeath departed early with Nyau. Despite her displeasure at not realizing her long-held desire, the invasion by the northern tribes demanded her immediate attention. Thus, with the resolve of a disgruntled sovereign, she vented her fury upon those encroaching foreign races.
A month elapsed, and the northern conflict concluded.
Esdeath, one of the empire’s two esteemed generals and its sole female general, spearheaded her forces, driving the front lines directly into the territories inhabited by the foreign tribes.
Just as tidings of Esdeath’s impending victory reached them, Xiaya also received a transmission from the Time King, Tang Xing.
“It’s a dispatch from the Time King.”
“What does the message convey?” Xiling inquired.
Xiaya smiled and elucidated, “She and the Universe King have encountered fortunate circumstances. They have just stumbled upon an immense supercluster of worlds, a twelve-star superworld.”
“It is designated as the Myriad Realm.”
“Myriad Realm?” Xiling echoed, taken aback by the grandeur of the name.
“Indeed, what is the scale of this world, and how numerous are its formidable experts?” Myers and Android 18 expressed keen interest.
“There are a multitude of experts present… and a considerable number of eleven-star powerhouses,” Xiaya elaborated, organizing his thoughts as he conveyed the discoveries made by the Time King and the others.
The Myriad Realm was staggeringly vast. According to their initial assessments, it encompassed three thousand major worlds, alongside billions of smaller and intermediate worlds, with each world possessing a subtle interconnection to the others. It represented a realm several magnitudes larger than the Dragon Ball World!
Several eleven-star powerhouses existed within its borders, much like the Time King herself.
At the precise moment Xiaya received the communication from the Time King, they were engulfed in a fierce siege orchestrated by the paramount experts from across the three thousand major worlds. The Dragon God and Majin Buu had already sustained injuries, and the situation had escalated to a critical state.
Xiaya surveyed his surroundings and addressed Xiling, Myers, and Android 18, stating, “Let us depart.”
