My Celestial Ascension Chapter 1049: Sister Mary’s Shock
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
Sister Mary stared at Anna Grace in confusion, unable to understand what she meant.
She remained silent for several seconds, trying to make sense of what she had just heard. Eventually, she turned toward Yuan, her expression growing even more puzzled.
’Wasn’t I the one who raised Yuan from infancy? Then why is she claiming that she raised him from the moment he was born?’
She simply couldn’t understand why Anna Grace would make such a claim. After all, Sister Mary was the one who had raised the Yuan she knew.
’Does she have some kind of mental problem? Why would she claim to have raised Yuan when I was the one who took care of him as a baby?’ she thought, shooting Anna Grace a displeased look.
’I’d better reveal the truth to her... Otherwise, she’ll keep blaming Mom, even though she’s innocent in all this,’ Yuan thought, letting out a soft sigh. He decided it was finally time to explain the truth to Sister Mary.
"Sister Mary, there really is a misunderstanding between you and my mom," Yuan said as he approached her and gently guided her back into her seat.
"What misunderstanding are you talking about, Yuan?" she asked, looking at him in confusion.
"I’ll explain everything, but first, you should prepare yourself for a surprise," Yuan said with a mischievous grin.
"What kind of surprise? Did you bring me something nice?" Sister Mary asked, looking both puzzled and excited.
Yuan turned toward Mireya and Sylvia.
"Why don’t you two stop using your disguises and show Sister Mary your true appearances?"
"Your true appearances? What are you talking about?" Sister Mary asked in bewilderment, glancing between Yuan, Mireya, and Sylvia.
Ignoring her question, Mireya and Sylvia removed the disguise rings from their fingers.
Almost immediately, a pale light enveloped their bodies as their disguises dissolved, revealing their true appearances before Sister Mary’s eyes.
"What?!"
Sister Mary stared at the two women in utter disbelief.
Her gaze immediately fell upon their ears. They were long and pointed, unlike those of ordinary humans. Moreover, their beauty was extraordinary, surpassing even that of the world’s most renowned supermodels.
For several moments, Sister Mary could do nothing but stare at Mireya and Sylvia, her eyes widening as she struggled to comprehend what she was seeing.
Unable to contain her curiosity, she rose from her seat and cautiously approached them, examining their unusual features up close.
She even reached out and touched their ears, initially suspecting they were nothing more than silicone prosthetics. However, the moment she felt their warmth and the subtle pulse beneath their skin, she realized they were completely real.
"These ears are real! How is that even possible?!" she exclaimed in disbelief.
After all, elves were supposed to be fictional creatures found only in fantasy stories. Yet two of them were standing right in front of her!
She turned toward Yuan, her face filled with astonishment.
"T-They’re elves?! But how?! This isn’t a magical world! How can elves possibly exist here?!" she exclaimed, struggling to process the revelation.
Yuan merely smiled before turning toward Selvariel.
"It’s your turn now."
Selvariel nodded. A moment later, a magnificent pair of pure white wings unfolded from her back, sending another shock through Sister Mary.
"A-An angel?!" she exclaimed, stumbling backward in astonishment.
’First elves, and now an angel?! What on earth is going on? How can elves and angels exist in this world?!’
As the shock slowly began to settle, another thought crossed her mind. She swallowed nervously, her eyes darting between the extraordinary beings standing before her.
’Could it be that the myths were true all along? That these creatures really existed and weren’t merely products of human imagination?’
"What do you think?" Yuan asked with a smile, clearly enjoying her reaction.
Sister Mary looked at him helplessly before finally managing to speak.
"I’m speechless!"
She shook her head in disbelief, then glanced at Mireya, Sylvia, and Selvariel once more.
"I always thought elves and angels were nothing more than creatures from myths and legends. But seeing them with my own eyes has completely changed my perspective. This world is filled with so many secrets..."
"Is that what you think? Well, unfortunately, they don’t belong to this world. Elves and angels don’t exist here," Yuan said with a mysterious smile.
"Now you’re making me even more confused, Yuan... What exactly are you trying to tell me?" Sister Mary asked, staring at him suspiciously.
Yuan took a deep breath before finally revealing the truth.
"Well, you see... Two years ago, I died in this world and was reincarnated in another. It was a world where elves, angels, beastmen, demons, and vampires existed."
"Two years ago, I died from a terminal illness. It wasn’t an accident or anything like that. However, when I opened my eyes again, I found myself reborn in that other world."
"That world was nothing like this one. It was a place where the strong made the rules, and the weak had no choice but to obey, regardless of their circumstances."
"I grew up in a loving family with my two mothers, my beautiful and caring big sister, and Emma, who was like another big sister to me," he continued with a smile, reminiscing about the moment he had first opened his eyes in that world after dying here.
"I traveled across that world with my two mothers, my big sister, and Emma. Along the way, I met countless people and formed many meaningful relationships. Of course, I also found myself in conflicts with powerful individuals and organizations."
"To protect myself and the people I loved, I was forced to kill tens of thousands of people. It was unavoidable, considering just how cruel that world could be." Yuan let out a soft sigh.
"During my travels, I eventually discovered a way to return to this world. And that’s how I managed to come back here with my family."
With that, Yuan finished his revelation.
Sister Mary stared at him with wide eyes. She wanted to say something, anything, but not a single word came out of her mouth.
She simply couldn’t figure out how to respond to what she had just heard. Everything sounded so fantastical that it was almost impossible to believe, and yet the evidence was standing right in front of her.
Yuan looked completely different from the boy she remembered from the orphanage. He was far more handsome now, almost godlike in appearance, and even his presence seemed to have changed dramatically.
"S-So, you’re saying that the Yuan I used to know... died two years ago? And you’re not the same Yuan anymore?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly as she struggled to process his words.
"We’re different, yet the same," Yuan replied gently, taking her hand in his. "I’m still Yuan—the same person you raised. I remember everything about the Yuan who lived in this world, including all the memories I made here."
"I-Is that so...? Oh, God... This is a lot to take in..." Sister Mary murmured.
She took a deep breath and covered her face with her hands, tilting her head toward the ceiling as she tried to calm her racing thoughts.
Her mind was in complete chaos. The boy she had raised, the one she had cared for like her own child, had apparently died two years ago and been reborn in another world.
And the most unbelievable part was that he had somehow found his way back to this world, bringing his new family with him. To make matters even more astonishing, some of his partners were elves and angels, and he had several romantic partners.
’It makes me so happy that he finally has a family who loves him... But how am I supposed to make sense of all this? He died, reincarnated in another world, and somehow returned here! How is any of this even possible?!’ she screamed inwardly, still struggling to believe what she had heard.
After a while, she took another deep breath and forced herself to calm down. She poured herself a glass of water and gulped it down in one go.
"Th-This all sounds completely absurd... But after seeing those elves and an angel with my own eyes, I have no choice but to believe you," she admitted, releasing a long sigh.
Sister Mary gently placed a hand on Yuan’s cheek and looked at him with affection.
"It must have been incredibly difficult for you to adjust to a world so different from this one, right?"
"Not really." Yuan shook his head and chuckled softly. "Despite how cruel and dangerous that world could be, it was also beautiful and exciting. To me, it was one grand adventure."
"And besides, I got to fight all sorts of powerful monsters, kill them, and eat them. They tasted absolutely delicious!" Yuan added with a wide grin, licking his lips at the memory.
"..."
For a moment, Sister Mary stared at him in silence before her expression changed.
"You little rascal! You were always thinking about food, even when you were a child! You haven’t changed that habit one bit, have you?!"
Before Yuan could react, she reached forward, grabbed his ear, and twisted it.
"Argh! Sister Mary, let go! Let go! That hurts!" Yuan immediately cried out.
Instead of releasing him, Sister Mary twisted his ear a little harder, wearing the same mischievous grin he remembered from his childhood.
She glared at him and scolded, "You and that Lulu girl were always causing trouble! The moment I took my eyes off you two, you’d come up with some new mischief!"
"You were both little troublemakers, causing chaos all over the orphanage! And that Lulu girl... She bullied the other children so much that they were all afraid of her!" she added with a cold snort before finally releasing his ear.
Yuan rubbed his sore ear, looking somewhat aggrieved.
Sister Mary then seemed to remember something. Her expression softened as she murmured, "Now that I think about it... I haven’t heard anything from Lulu since that mysterious woman adopted her. Not a single word."
"What? You haven’t heard from her either?" Yuan asked, staring at her in disbelief.
"That’s right." Sister Mary shook her head with a sigh. "Lulu never contacted me again after she was adopted. I haven’t heard from either her or the woman who took her away."
