Raising My Trash Ability into a Broken SSS+ Rank Skill Chapter 902 The Scapegoat

As Evelyn burst into the falling arena, the panicked crowd became even more afraid, pushing and running, some even tripping over each other in their haste.
Seeing them act like that, it felt even more absurd that such people are higher beings.
Far above gods.
But most of these higher beings had been in peace, only wasting away their life.
They weren't truly afraid of dying, after all, killing a higher being is extremely difficult.
Instead, they just ran away at the first sight of trouble since they are afraid of the crooked, those creatures often use such chaos to strike.
Disguising, sneaking anywhere, they are too good at this, always slipping through the smallest of gaps unnoticed.
Fader's face which was hidden under the bandages, remained the same but Adam was fuming, his fists clenched so tight his knuckles had turned pale.
Zengis simply flew out without a word, while Armin was so happy to finally see Evelyn, he wished to talk to her but was dragged away by his father before he could even try.
Evelyn looked down at the god who had just sent the signal and revealed the location, her expression cold and unmoving.
"You will be arrested for further questioning and a trial." Then she gave the orders as some officers quickly came forward to arrest them.
'Haa We are really done for…' the gods felt even more depressed.
When had they ever won a court case after encountering that wretched group, in all the years they had known of it?
Without any thought of rebellion, they cooperated, got arrested and then taken away, heads hung low the entire time.
Adam and fader had already gone out to check things, if this really was the holy righteous heresy, then it could be a good chance to finally act.
But fader had his doubts, his daughter has been acting strange for some time now, and he couldn't quite place why.
Did she plan it out?
Unaware of her father's thoughts, Evelyn looked around and then spoke to the fearful higher beings, trying to keep her voice steady.
"There is no need to panic, there aren't any Crooked here, and the situation is under control-"
BOOOOOOM!
Another loud explosion sounded from outside right at that moment, surprising even her.
The people who were just about to calm down, all ran away without missing a beat, screaming as they scattered in every direction.
"What is it now?" Evelyn and the crying monk both frowned.
They had planned in advance to create that disturbance and get those gods arrested for a serious crime, every step carefully rehearsed beforehand.
Either they are found guilty or the case can be delayed until the real Vritra is out of that realm.
But this last explosion wasn't part of their plan, and that alone was enough to unsettle her.
She first sent Maeve, Diana and the rest to a safe location, then flew out of the arena.
And much to her shock, Zengis had just subdued a Crooked, pinning the creature down with ease.
'How come there is a crooked here, we were only planning to frame the Holy Righteous Heretics for treason.' She thought.
But one look at Armin and she reached a conclusion.
'So it is them, taking advantage of the situation to make more chaos, but why?'
Evelyn didn't even need a second to think of the answer to that question. It certainly was to bring up the marriage again.
So, they can quickly usurp the power of the Vespera family while everyone else was distracted.
Thinking this, she could only sigh, feeling a headache coming on.
Although they had succeeded, but someone else used this to get a victory out of it too.
This left an unpleasant feeling behind, one she couldn't quite shake off.
"Let's go meet Dipper." Adam said, his body shaking with rage.
Back then, when he was the head of the Vespera family and they still held the power of law.
Who would dare to do such a thing? They would already be dead just by thinking about it, no questions asked.
His son is just too incompetent; he doesn't do anything and just waste away his days like most of the useless higher beings around him.
"Yes, it seems these heretics are getting too out of hands. Let's meet Dipper and put him in his place." Zengis nodded, cracking his knuckles.
Still, that group has such a major presence in this realm, so they cannot directly arrest him without proper cause.
That would create real chaos, which is also why Dipper doesn't hide and does it all openly, even opposing the Vespera family without any hesitation.
Just as Evelyn came out of the broken arena, the four were already about to leave.
"What happened?" she asked, to which they paused.
"Evelyn! Where were you?" Armin asked, a big grin on his face, his plan had just succeeded too.
"…" she ignored him and continued to look at her father for an answer.
Fader had captured the Crooked who had attacked the arena just now, the gods were really too fucked this time.
Dipper can just shift the blame and say he know nothing about the crooked, as for the explosion earlier he can just give compensation and get a warning.
The gods who were still hoping to get out of this whole situation were in for a great surprise, one none of them saw coming.
"This Crooked attacked the arena, we are going to meet dipper." Fader replied with a sigh.
Having ruled the place for a long time, how can he not understand the plans other people had laid, no matter how well hidden.
If he can't even see such things, he would have lost the power long ago.
There weren't few people who betrayed him, over the years he had lost count.
'Looks like these indeed were pieces those heretic had placed or maybe it was an individual among them. In any case, my daughter and Zengis had taken advantage of this.' Fader thought.
He of course knew Zengis's motive but looking at his daughter, he could only shake his head, choosing to say nothing for now.
Without saying anything further, they turned and disappeared.
Then things proceeded just as one could expect. Dipper possessing strong connections which were well spread.
He had already obtained the entire news and was fully prepared, as if he had expected this all along.
Since a gift given by one of the commander, the 9th, was already found as evidence so they cannot deny anything.
Denying would instead put them in a dangerous position, they might get blamed for far more than they already were.
So, taking the blame for the little was the better option, at least for now.
Hence, dipper admitted his mistake, paid the compensation and punished a member of the heretics, a random member just for the show.
Even if Adam wanted to make it blow into something bigger, he failed to do so, the heretics aren't weak by any measure.
Although if a civil war starts, the heretics can certainly be wiped out but that also meant, without a civil war it would be impossible to completely make them disappear.
This organization had existed for a long time, its roots buried too deep to simply dig out.
Thus, after getting some compensation and explanation, they could only return, empty handed in the end.
Still, that made dipper very angry, his plans were shifted back further than he would have liked.
And it gave the vespera a reason, if in future anything is found, they can directly arrest him.
He knew fully well about the strength of that family, and more so since Garissa family will be joining them soon enough.
He punished the 9th commander separately, then decided to call a meeting, asking all important members to attend.
The gods were instantly taken for brutal interrogation and denied any trial in the court.
Since the blame of the crooked had now fallen upon them, the gods were now treated as the highest level criminals.
They were denied of all rights, treated as though they never held any status at all.
The gods told the truth that both of the treasures they had received from the commanders of the heretics.
They were so scared upon finding the charges, cursing Vritra non stop in their minds, hoping that they can survive this somehow.
But they were tortured so badly, to the point they just agreed with whatever their torturer wanted them to.
Thus under the law, they were stripped of all their power and status, and were no longer gods; directly returning to demi gods.
Then were thrown into a prison where life was worse than death, the kind of place no one ever truly left.
This was a law Evelyn had created some time after she came into power, of course, she had made a few other necessary laws to cover it up.
And just like that the whole situation played out very nicely, exactly as it had been intended.
Vritra and the rest had returned to the house of darkness for the time being, the final result was yet to be declared.
The puppet remained badly injured, and since Vritra wasn't present it was impossible to repair it without his blood.
Thankfully, there wasn't much role for it left, the puppet only needed to make a few appearances here and there.
…
Few days passed.
In the end, the final verdict of the whole thing came out.
"Did you hear, the result of that recent case is already out." One guy passing by the temple spoke with enthusiasm.
