Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1301:- Fight Between Brothers
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
"Before we start, there’s something I want to ask you." Ren suddenly spoke while looking directly at Aditya. Despite the sounds of battle coming from below, his voice remained surprisingly calm. There was even a faint smile on his pale face, making it difficult to believe that he was currently facing the person who had become his greatest enemy.
"What is it?" Aditya asked while keeping his eyes fixed on his cousin brother. Although Ren had yet to make a move, Aditya remained extremely cautious. The dark, corrupted Mana surrounding Ren’s body was constantly reminding him that something was seriously wrong with his cousin.
"Why did you hide them?" Ren asked without bothering to explain who he was talking about. His blood-red eyes remained fixed on Aditya, carefully observing his expression as he waited for an answer.
Naturally, Aditya immediately understood what Ren meant. His cousin was referring to Alen and Elena, Aditya’s parents, whom he had secretly rescued from the Imperial Royal Palace. Although Aditya had expected Ren to eventually discover their disappearance, he had not imagined that his cousin would bring them up at this particular moment.
"Why do you want to know?" Aditya asked in a much colder tone. His expression became serious as he looked at Ren. Although he was willing to listen to what his cousin had to say, he had absolutely no intention of revealing anything about his parents’ whereabouts.
Hearing his question, Ren suddenly smiled. However, there was nothing friendly about that smile. Instead, it made his already frightening appearance look even more sinister.
"Because after I’m done killing you, I will personally head to wherever you have hidden them and kill them with my own hands." Ren replied without the slightest hesitation. His voice remained completely calm, almost as though he was discussing something ordinary rather than threatening the lives of the very people who had raised him.
The moment those words left Ren’s mouth, Aditya’s expression turned extremely cold. Although he had already known that his cousin was capable of committing terrible acts, hearing him openly declare his intention to murder Alen and Elena still filled him with anger.
"Today, I’m going to make sure that I destroy everything." Ren continued while slowly spreading his arms.
"If I cannot continue being the Emperor of the Celestial Dragon Empire, then I will make sure that nobody gets to enjoy what I have built. I will destroy everything that stands in my way, including the very foundation of this Empire."
Ren’s smile widened as he imagined the destruction that he intended to cause. "Even if I die today, I will make sure that the Celestial Dragon Empire suffers so much damage that it eventually collapses. I want to see what happens when the Empire that everyone is fighting so desperately to control is left with nothing. If I cannot have it, then neither can you."
Aditya stared at Ren in silence for a few seconds. At this point, he was completely certain that his cousin had lost his mind. The Ren he remembered had always been obsessed with obtaining and protecting the throne, but at least his actions had once been driven by the desire to rule the Empire.
Now, however, things were different. Ren no longer seemed interested in protecting the Empire or the people living within it. Instead, he was openly declaring that he would destroy everything simply because he could not accept the possibility of losing his position as Emperor.
What made the situation even more disturbing was the complete lack of emotion in Ren’s voice. He had just threatened to murder the uncle and aunt who had raised him like their own son, yet there was not even the slightest trace of hesitation or guilt on his face.
Aditya could not help but wonder just how much the corrupted Mana had affected his cousin’s mind. Although Ren had always been ambitious and cruel, the person standing before him now appeared to have completely abandoned whatever remained of his humanity.
"Yeah, I’m not letting you do that." Aditya finally replied in an extremely cold voice.
His eyes remained fixed on Ren as he slowly tightened his grip around Raiketsu’s handle. "You have already caused enough suffering. Whatever you’re planning to do today, I will make sure you never get the chance to carry it out."
Hearing this, Ren merely continued smiling. He did not appear offended by Aditya’s words, nor did he show any signs of anger. Instead, he looked almost amused by his younger cousin’s confidence.
Meanwhile, Aditya had already made up his mind. He had originally intended to defeat Ren and bring an end to the civil war, but after hearing his cousin’s latest threats, he understood that allowing Ren to leave this battlefield alive would be far too dangerous.
Ren had already gone completely crazy, and Aditya was not going to allow that madness to endanger his parents or the future of the Celestial Dragon Empire.
Without exchanging another word, Aditya and Ren suddenly disappeared from their original positions. In the next instant, both of them appeared directly in front of each other and threw their fists forward at almost the same time.
Their fists struck each other’s faces with tremendous force, sending powerful shockwaves through the surrounding air. However, neither of them backed away. Instead, they immediately launched another attack, exchanging several punches within a few seconds.
Each blow carried enough strength to seriously injure an ordinary Sixth Order cultivator, yet both of them continued fighting without showing any signs of slowing down.
Aditya managed to land a powerful punch directly against Ren’s left cheek, causing his head to turn to the side. A small amount of blood escaped from the corner of Ren’s mouth. However, rather than becoming angry, Ren slowly turned his head back toward Aditya and wiped away the blood with the back of his hand.
Looking at the blood on his hand, Ren suddenly smiled. "Not bad. It seems you have become much stronger than I expected during these past five years." His voice sounded strangely calm despite the injuries he had just received.
However, before Aditya could respond, Ren suddenly moved forward and delivered an extremely powerful punch directly to his face.
The force behind the punch was so great that Aditya was immediately sent flying backwards at an incredible speed. His body tore through the air, covering a distance of several thousand kilometres before he could finally begin slowing himself down.
Although he had managed to protect his face with Mana at the last moment, the impact still left him feeling slightly dizzy.
However, Ren had absolutely no intention of giving him time to recover.
Just as Aditya was about to regain his balance, Ren suddenly appeared directly above him. Before Aditya could properly react, Ren raised his fist and delivered another powerful punch, this time striking him from above.
Aditya’s body was immediately sent flying toward the ground like a falling meteor. The tremendous force behind the attack made it difficult for him to stop his descent through ordinary means. However, just before his body could crash into the ground, Aditya activated his teleportation ability and disappeared.
In the next instant, he reappeared directly behind Ren. Aditya threw a powerful punch toward Ren’s back. Since Ren had been expecting Aditya to crash into the ground, he was unable to react quickly enough to avoid the sudden attack.
Aditya’s fist struck Ren directly in the back, sending him flying toward the ground at tremendous speed. However, just when Ren was about to crash into the ground, something extremely strange happened.
Several thick, black tentacles suddenly emerged from his back.
The tentacles looked extremely creepy, with their dark surfaces constantly moving as though they were alive. Each tentacle twisted and turned like a snake before extending toward the ground. Within moments, the tentacles made contact with the surface and began bending under the force of Ren’s falling body.
Instead of allowing Ren to crash directly into the ground, the black tentacles absorbed most of the impact and gradually slowed his descent. Their movements were surprisingly smooth, almost as though they possessed minds of their own.
By the time Ren reached the ground, his speed had decreased so much that he landed without suffering any additional injuries.
Aditya, who had been observing everything from above, could not help but narrow his eyes. He had expected Ren to possess some strange abilities after absorbing so much corrupted Mana, but he had certainly not expected black tentacles to suddenly grow out of his back.
Meanwhile, Ren slowly straightened his body while the tentacles continued moving behind him. Some of them remained close to the ground, while others rose into the air and moved from side to side. Combined with his pale face, blood-red eyes, and the dark Mana surrounding his body, Ren looked even less human than before.
"I don’t know what you’ve done to yourself, but I can feel it. Your body is slowly breaking apart. Whatever power you’ve obtained, your body clearly isn’t capable of handling it properly."
