Jie Ming receives an unexpected visitor: Starfall, accompanied by a legendary wizard known only as Fate. Jie Ming is intimidated by Fate's immense power, realizing the true value of Starfall's status. They travel to Viola's plane, where Viola reveals a massive battle between insectoid creatures and colossal plants in a nearby plane cluster.

Jie Ming stood at the edge of the void, his gaze passing over the battlefield and coming to rest on the world cluster locked in slaughter.

Countless gigantic plant lifeforms had taken root in the void, their trunks and vines interwoven into a net, like a forest that had covered the universe.

On the other side were the dense legions of insect-men, and every clash between the two sides stirred up violent tides of energy.

The scene before him certainly looked magnificent, enough to put the great majority of wizards on their guard. Yet after watching it for a while, Jie Ming only grew more and more puzzled.

The civilization level of these insect-men was indeed very high, far beyond any ordinary low- or mid-level civilization. The problem was that Viola’s fighting strength was right there for all to see.

With her current strength, dealing with a higher civilization might take some time, but it was hardly reason enough to go and ask Starfall for help.

“What kind of trouble have you actually run into?” Jie Ming asked.

Viola had still been smiling, but at his words her expression gradually turned serious.

She raised a hand and pointed at the distant battlefield:

“Remember that parasite we ran into on Jack’s plane before?”

Of course Jie Ming remembered.

That parasite had taken him, Viola and Augusta, the three of them, more than two months of fighting to grind down.

He nodded on reflex, then suddenly realized something, and his face went slightly rigid.

Seeing the change in his expression, Viola nodded. “That’s right. Those parasites are the insect-man civilization’s true upper echelon. The entire insect-man civilization has one supreme parasite.”

Without thinking, Jie Ming activated his True-False Void-Piercing Pupil and cast his perception toward the distant plane cluster.

He had taken the structures connecting those planes for some kind of black, jointed-limb plane passage. But under the True-False Void-Piercing Pupil’s analysis, they revealed an entirely different picture.

Those jointed-limb structures were slowly writhing. Body fluids were flowing inside them.

They were not constructions… they were alive!

The entire insect-man plane cluster, thousands upon thousands of planes, was strung together by the body of a single super-parasite.

At the sight of this, Jie Ming’s face turned green.

“The insect-man civilization has more than nine thousand planes under its rule.” Viola’s voice came from beside him. “More than eight thousand five hundred of them are completely controlled by this parasite. Its body runs through every plane it has parasitized, like a neural network covering the whole cluster. The one we fought before was only a clone it had sent out.”

Jie Ming drew a deep breath.

A parasite that had infested a third of the volume of a single large plane had cost the three of them that much effort.

As for the super-parasite before him, which infested eight thousand five hundred planes, its energy reserves had long since gone far beyond the normal bounds of an eighth-level creature.

Even if it stood still and let him attack it with Breathing Soil Creation at full strength, its own energy would probably resist him on its own.

“No wonder you said you couldn’t handle it.” Jie Ming smiled wryly.

He turned on reflex to look at Starfall.

Starfall was gazing at the distant plane cluster, and the silver-blue law patterns in her eyes had grown even denser than before.

Jie Ming suddenly remembered why Starfall had received her Level-One Cultivation Protocol, and that her core research topic all these years had been making an activated plane into a true wizard.

His eyes lit up as he understood what Viola and Starfall were after.

“Number One broke through to sixth-level wizard a while ago.” Starfall withdrew her gaze as well, a hint of irrepressible anticipation in her voice. “This is the perfect chance to let him try.”

“Sixth-level wizard, huh…” Jie Ming could not help wiping cold sweat that was not actually there from his brow.

He knew the fighting strength of an activated plane all too well.

A sixth-level activated plane could already beat a seventh-level wizard black and blue.

There was the terrifying sheer size of the activated plane itself, and on top of that, the wizard system’s defining trait of using knowledge to lever power.

With that combination, even an eighth-level wizard would probably get pinned down and pounded!

“No time like the present. I’ll have Number One come over right now!” Starfall clapped her hands.

The bracelet on her wrist lit up with silver-blue light. The space-time beside her twisted violently, and an enormous plane squeezed its way laboriously out of a spatial rift.

Pale blue light flowed across the entire plane. Clear law patterns circulated over its plane barrier, and the whole plane gave off an aura completely different from that of an ordinary plane.

“A Law Solidification Domain…”

The corner of Jie Ming’s mouth twitched. The power flowing over this plane’s barrier was unmistakably a Law Solidification Domain!

After looking it over a little more closely, Jie Ming found that this activated plane was a good deal bigger than when he had last seen it.

“He has merged with a few more medium-sized planes,” Starfall explained, seeing the puzzlement in Jie Ming’s eyes. “He’s a large plane now.”

The corner of Jie Ming’s mouth twitched.

The fighting strength of a small activated plane had already been outrageous enough; he no longer dared to imagine just how terrifying this activated plane wizard’s fighting strength might be.

A wave of mental energy suddenly came from within the plane.

There was not the slightest stiffness to that mental energy. On the contrary, it was remarkably lively, just like a human wizard who truly possessed a complete mind.

“Starfall, long time no see.”

The voice rang out directly in all their minds.

Starfall nodded. “This time I need your help with something.”

“I know. You told me about it before.”

The mental energy carried obvious delight, and then swept toward Jie Ming and Viola.

“You two must be Jie Ming and Viola? Starfall has mentioned you to me.”

“Hello.”

“Hello.”

Jie Ming and Viola answered at the same time.

The whole exchange was so natural that it left Jie Ming a little dazed.

He had seen activated planes before.

Worlds with living consciousness could already think, but their mental activity was usually extremely slow, and their way of thinking was utterly different from that of ordinary creatures, like a giant lifeform with a sluggish reaction but limitless mass.

But the Number One before him was completely different.

Its mental consciousness was lively and clear, and it thought at a speed with no essential difference from that of a normal wizard.

It could no longer be called merely an “activated plane”.

It was a wizard in the truest sense.

Jie Ming looked at Starfall and finally could not help saying, “Looks like you really have created an entirely new kind of wizard.”

Starfall shook her head with a smile, neither denying it nor admitting it, though her eyes showed a trace of gratification.

But while they had been talking, an activated plane that big appearing out of nowhere on the battlefield had naturally drawn the attention of every insect-man.

As though sensing danger, the distant plane cluster stirred into motion.

The insect-men that had been locked in slaughter with the plant-people abandoned their opponents one after another and gathered in the direction of the activated plane.

In the space of just a few breaths, a colossal thing made of countless planes slowly unfurled itself in the void.

As a whole, it took on a grotesque, centipede-like form.

Gigantic worlds, segment after segment, were linked together and stretched outward almost without end.

It had no mouth in any real sense, nor anything that could be called vocal cords.

Yet the moment it had fully unfurled, a will of utmost terror came crashing down.

A silent roar erupted on the mental plane!

Immediately after, the elements throughout the entire void began to riot, turning into an elemental storm that covered the void and bore down on Jie Ming and the others from every direction.

Jie Ming’s expression shifted slightly.

This single attack alone had already let him feel the terrifying scale of that super-parasite.

But a layer of white light screen had already shot up in front of them.

Boom!

The terrifying elemental torrent slammed into the light screen, and the entire void seemed to shudder.

Endless energy battered against it again and again, yet it could never break through that seemingly thin shield.

Standing behind the shield Number One had raised, Jie Ming sensed how almost absurdly stable the power structure within that defense was, and marveled inwardly.
