After hearing City Lord Aveline’s words, I knew I was right in my thoughts. Celeste was still thinking about fighting me. On the other hand, I had almost forgotten about her.

"Well, since you are a friend of Celeste, your family is connected to the Silver Tower?" I asked her.

"Yes, my family is an ally of the Silver Tower. We are located in one of the satellite cities," she replied.

"But you are strong as well. I think our ages are similar," I said.

Sigh!

A sigh escaped from Aveline’s lips.

"I was a contender for the Wizard Seed of the Silver Tower, but the competition back then was cutthroat. I couldn’t make it into the Silver Tower."

"I didn’t like the other magic towers, so I decided to represent my family," Aveline said.

Hearing that, I got curious. In order to get into the Silver Tower, magic talent and magic power needed to be top-notch. So, I checked her status panel.

Then I saw that her magic had to do with perception and illusion. Seeing that, I was not surprised.

"So Bluebell Reach City is under the Silver Tower?" I asked her.

"We cannot entirely dismiss that, but the group of allied families is responsible for the administration and safety," Aveline said.

Hearing that, I felt relaxed.

"Then I’m going to stay here for a few days and look around the city," I said to her.

"You are my guest now. There is no need to pay for the hotel suite," Aveline said with a smile.

I was taken aback and told her not to do that, but she didn’t listen. She stood up, went over to the hotel staff, and told them not to bill me. It was on her.

Both the male and female staff agreed.

"Vincent Carey, if you need any help, you can come to the City Lord’s office." After saying that, she left the hotel.

From beginning to end, I noticed that she treated me as an equal. If it were other City Lords, they would have been intimidated by the name of the Silver Tower.

But she didn’t do that. It was because her family was connected to the Silver Tower, and she was also a friend of Celeste.

I shook my head. Then I saw the male staff member walking up to me. He began to lead me to the premium suite. We took the elevator.

Soon, we reached the tenth floor. The whole floor was a premium suite. There was no corridor; instead, one big door greeted us.

He used the access card to open the door, and we walked inside. The living room was spacious, with an open balcony behind it.

There was also a small study room. Most importantly, my gaze fell upon the mana chamber.

"Is that a Mana Chamber?" I asked.

"Yes, most guests book the premium suite in our hotel just to use that mana chamber," the male staff member said.

Then he showed me around the rest of the suite. The explanation itself took a few minutes. He gave me the access card before leaving.

I could hand over the access card during check-out.

When the staff member left the room, I sat down on the sofa and leaned back against the seat. I felt a wave of comfort wash over me. I had expected this to be another city in trouble.

However, I didn’t expect it to be run by the allied families of the Silver Tower. Even if my whereabouts were exposed, no one could question why I was here.

Then I collected my thoughts and thought of Manager Lara. Since I was here, I needed to find out what was going on over there.

I took out my device and called Manager Lara. It didn’t take long for the call to connect.

"Vincent Carey, where are you right now?" Lara asked.

Her voice sounded filled with anxiety.

"I’m in Bluebell Reach City right now. I found out that the city is run by the allied families of the Silver Tower," I replied.

The next second, I heard a huge sigh of relief from the other side of the call.

"I’m relieved. I was worried that you might disregard Elder Dana’s orders and go to Darkmoon City," she said in a rather calm tone.

Her anxiety seemed to have disappeared.

"What happened?" I asked.

"It’s good that you didn’t go there. Darkmoon City is facing attacks, and people have fled from the city. I’m trying to get complete information," Lara said.

Hearing that, my relaxed posture vanished. I sat upright.

I had only seen two Black Tower Magic Lords there. I subdued Duncan and left the place.

"You’re confusing me. I heard that the city is run by the Black Tower. Who could attack it?" I asked.

"Yes, but I don’t know the full details yet. Right now, the Black Tower has dispatched its wizards. If I get any more details, I’ll call you soon," Lara said.

"Okay," I replied.

Lara then ended the call. She went on to update Elder Dana, Elder Charlotte, and Elder Erwin about Vincent Carey’s current whereabouts.

I put away the device after completing the call, then looked around before spotting a big screen.

I turned on the screen and began to browse the news channels. Then I saw a local media outlet reporting on the matter.

I increased the volume and began to watch it.

[News Anchor: An incident seems to have occurred in Darkmoon City. Locals are advised to avoid traveling to Darkmoon City until the situation is resolved.]

Hearing that, I furrowed my eyebrows. They didn’t know the whole story yet, and neither did I.

Then I focused on the crimson ball in my mind.

The 7th crimson orb was doing fine; it didn’t show any fluctuations. That indicated Magic Lord Duncan was doing well. I shook my head before turning off the screen.

Next, I stood up and went to the mana chamber. It was time to practice. I didn’t want to lag behind Celeste. Her unique glass magic was already strong.

She must have gotten even stronger after becoming a Magic Lord. I pressed the button, and the door slid open the next moment.

I stepped inside. The lights turned on automatically, and the door closed behind me.
