The masked man and his companions dealt with five troublesome old men. Market Leader Katie reported the incident to her superiors, who, recognizing the victims' background, ordered an investigation into the masked man. Meanwhile, an old woman at a book stall recognized the masked man's true strength and potential, seeing an opportunity for herself. Elsewhere, members of the Covenant learned of Tim's death due to a mental restriction, sparking concern and a desire for revenge, with Amaira recalling the City Guard Captain offending powerful visitors.

Hideout

Silence!

Amaira’s words silenced the group once again. They had almost forgotten about the influential figures in the city.

"It could be someone from the wizard families. We don’t know for sure yet," the Senior Wizard said.

He didn’t want to waste time chasing down the wrong people.

He then added, "Amaira, you can use mind control magic. I want you to return to Rockwell City and find out who the enemy is. We need that information before the higher-ups call us again."

"I will go," Amaira agreed.

She still believed it was related to the masked man and his group, as she had never seen such a powerful lineup in other cities.

Seeing that she agreed, the Senior Wizard assigned tasks to the other members as well, since their mission in Rockwell City was over.

Their next mission would take place in Darkmoon City.

....

General Wizard Market

As evening approached, the market quieted down. Yet, undercurrents still lingered, how could the stall owners forget the death of the five old men?

To be honest, most of the stall owners were pleased. The five old men might have been vendors, but they were notorious criminals.

Those who had been harassed by them in the past were relieved, but a certain gloom still hung over the market.

No one knew what the Market Leader would do next.

Evening came.

I was chatting with Hank about his past experiences. The zero puppet, in red smoke form, had gone to find old man Rock.

He was the only Magic Lord in our group, and I didn’t want him running into trouble, especially while he was still injured.

As time passed, I continued listening to the stories of Hank’s childhood.

A few minutes later,

I noticed Otto and Patrick walking back. There was still no sign of old man Rock.

If he was taking this long, he must have come across something important.

We stopped talking as Otto and Patrick arrived. I set out chairs for them as well. They sat down and began sharing what they had learned.

"Master, I collected some interesting information. You’ll like it," Otto said.

Hearing that, I raised an eyebrow and looked at him.

"Most of the stall owners are from unknown dark territory. The rest are from the surrounding cities," Otto said.

"The Unknown Dark Territory. No wonder. Still, that isn’t enough to threaten me," I remarked.

Otto and Patrick were taken aback, not fully understanding. Hank took the opportunity to explain what had happened.

After hearing about the five old men, Otto and Patrick were furious.

"You shouldn’t be left helpless like that. Take this scroll, it contains a stored supreme level elemental attack. I bought it from a stall owner here," Otto said, handing him the scroll.

Hank accepted the scroll and thanked him.

Seeing that, I was pleasantly surprised.

"I will find something similar for everyone’s safety," I said.

"Master, you have more important matters to handle. We can take care of our own safety," Otto replied.

Patrick and Hank nodded in agreement. I then turned toward Patrick and asked if he had found anything useful in the market.

Patrick replied, "I bought a few plants to study. I got some inspiration from them, and my vitality-sucking vine will definitely grow stronger in the future."

Just then, I saw another person approaching. It was none other than Market Leader Katie. I had expected old man Rock or the old woman from the bookstore.

"The Market Leader is coming, Master. It could be about the death of the five old men," Hank said.

"Let’s wait," I said calmly.

Otto and Patrick turned toward her, immediately on guard.

Meanwhile, Market Leader Katie walked over slowly.

Seeing the four of us sitting comfortably under the tree, she felt a flicker of amusement. She didn’t believe we were truly evil, but under orders from her higher-ups, she had to gather information.

When she reached us, I pulled out another chair for her and said, "Market Leader, take a seat."

Katie sat down under the watchful gaze of Hank, Otto, and Patrick. She wasn’t wary of Hank, having recognized earlier that he was a non-combatant wizard.

However, she was uncertain about the other two. If the masked man and his subordinates decided to attack, she needed to be ready.

I saw right through her caution.

"There’s no need to be afraid. Tell us, what do you want?" I asked.

Katie’s tense brow relaxed slightly, and she felt a bit more at ease.

"I reported the matter to the higher-ups. They told me the five old men were from unknown dark territory. It is still unclear whether they had a powerful backer," she said.

Surprise flashed in my eyes. I hadn’t expected her to share that information freely, which meant she wanted something in return.

"What do you want?" I asked directly.

Hank, Otto, and Patrick listened closely.

Katie observed our reactions, collected her thoughts, and said, "The higher-ups want your background and information so they can pass it along to the backers of those five men."

"Unacceptable! Who are you to demand information from us?" Otto snapped.

"And what will you do if we refuse?" Patrick asked coldly.

Katie was taken aback by their sharp response, but she had come prepared.

"If you don’t cooperate, I will have to request help from the elders. I know you have a Magic Lord on your side, but what if you have to face two?" Katie countered.

Hearing that, the expressions on Hank, Patrick, and Otto changed drastically.

I remained calm. I had already sent the zero puppet after old man Rock; if any trouble arose, the puppet would handle it.

Even if the enemy were a Magic Lord, they wouldn’t easily detect an attack from the zero puppet.

Katie watched their reactions with satisfaction. But when she turned her gaze toward me, my expression was entirely hidden behind the mask.

She could not tell whether I’m happy or angry. But I knew the market was not ordinary. How could a single leader handle all the problems?
