Years after the war, Quinn struggles with the heavy burden of his immortality while watching his friends and family slowly age. Desperate for a way to live a normal life and escape his overwhelming isolation, he seeks counsel from Vincent. Recognizing that the world still relies on Quinn's immense power, Vincent offers a difficult suggestion that forces Quinn to face his greatest emotional hurdle yet.

Nearly fifteen years had slipped away since Quinn had bid his final farewells to his kin. Overhead, the sun blazed across the expansive university grounds, where students scurried like ants in every direction. Anchored at the campus peak, a curly-haired youth with a mop of black hair reclined, his gaze fixed upward while his feet tapped rhythmically to the pulse of his music.

"Galen!" a voice erupted. "Galen, where have you hidden yourself? Hurry, or we are going to be late!"

As the calls persisted, a woman with dark skin and matching curly hair finally tracked him down. Without hesitation, she reached out and ripped the headphones from his ears.

"Hey, what on earth are you doing, Minny?" Galen demanded.

"What am I doing?" she countered, her fists clenched at her sides. "I came to retrieve you. Why are you dressed in that white shirt? You are well aware that we are meant to wear black. We have no time to waste; we must depart immediately, or we shall surely be behind schedule."

Galen reclaimed his headphones and stuffed them into his pocket. His gaze drifted downward, the previous light in his eyes dimming.

"I have no desire to wear black. It is not as though we are attending a funeral," Galen muttered.

Minny struggled to find a response; the words pierced her own heart, and before she could compose herself, a tear escaped. She hastily brushed it away.

"It is far too late to change at this point; let us just leave and go," she said, gripping Galen’s hand and pulling him along.

As she did, Galen twirled his finger, weaving a dark shadow into existence. A shadow portal materialized directly before them, causing them both to stumble onto the path.

"Must you insist on using that ability? You know it irritates me," Minny complained.

"You were the one who complained about being late."

Unlike Minny, Galen had inexplicably retained his powers. The reason remained a mystery, though Quinn nurtured a secret theory he had shared only with Galen: a truth that marked him as distinct from everyone else.

While the reserves of power bestowed by Immortui had evaporated for others, the same did not apply to celestial energy. Both Peter and Minny still held it, but Quinn had made his own unique status abundantly clear. He was something further—a Celestial—a classification separate from those merely wielding celestial powers. It was a secret he was warned never to reveal.

Utilizing his abilities, they boarded a small shuttle and began their journey. They traversed the distance to fetch their mother, Layla. Like Minny, she was swathed in a jet-black dress, her face concealed by a veil. Her hands and features were etched with deep wrinkles; age had taken its toll, and she now resembled a woman of seventy. The Qi circulating within her did little to stall her decline. Her era as Hannya had exacted a heavy price. It was a fate shared by many vampires: those who appeared young despite living lifetimes often neared their end abruptly, and Layla was no exception.

The trio boarded the craft and took flight. As they moved through the vastness of space, a heavy silence settled between them, neither finding the will to speak.

Upon landing, they arrived at what was now a historical relic: the vampire settlement. The ruins had seen restoration, yet it remained a desolate zone, barred to the general public. Access was restricted to only a select few.

They navigated toward the main castle, yet bypassed the grand hall, descending instead into the frigid, shadowed depths of the underground vampire crypts.

At the lowest level, they found him. Quinn stood as though time had failed to touch him, appearing exactly as he always had. Layla’s composure shattered, and she dissolved into tears.

Minny rushed to her side, embracing her tightly. "It will be alright, Mom. We are still by your side."

Quinn bridged the distance in a blink, gently lifting her veil to gaze into her tear-filled eyes.

"You remain as radiant as the day we first crossed paths," Quinn said, offering a melancholy smile.

"Why, Quinn... why must you choose this?" Layla sobbed.

"Forgive me. This request is undeniably selfish, but I felt I needed to see my family one last time," Quinn replied softly. "I saw no other path. To witness you grow frail or suffer would break me; I would succumb to the urge to turn you, even knowing it would be a mistake. Eternal slumber is the only way to prevent that calamity. I am sorry for my vanity and for departing before you all. My final moments with you—they were the most precious I have ever known."

Quinn leaned forward, brushing his lips against hers. He wrestled with the temptation to bite her, but suppressed it, knowing it was for her own good. After pulling away, he walked toward his final destination. He had already bid his farewells to others; to have them all gathered here would have been unbearable. He would never have been able to walk away. But all narratives, even the best ones, must reach their finale.

"Minny, see that you look after your fool of a brother!" Quinn called out. "And Galen, cease your playboy antics and find someone worthy. The Talen bloodline needs to endure."

Slicing his finger, he let a bead of blood strike the machinery beneath him. The device groaned and began to unfurl, rising from the earth. He stepped inside, casting one final look toward his family.

"I love you all," Quinn whispered, closing his eyes.

Vincent had imparted one last lesson that day: the technique for a vampire to enter perpetual sleep. By withdrawing every ounce of aura from the heart and the bloodstone, life would eventually flicker out.

As the process began, Quinn’s mind wandered to the mysteries that remained unsolved. He had never succeeded in locating Ray, nor did anyone know of his whereabouts or his final deeds.

Furthermore, there remained the final entry in his system:

[Find out about the Talen Family.]

"No effort of mine could complete that quest," Quinn thought. "But it is of no consequence now. I can finally find rest. Good luck to the next generation; I only hope your path proves less tangled than mine."

Outside, Layla, Galen, and Minny lingered for nearly a full day. Eventually, the children had to drag their mother away, fearing for her failing health.

The crypt turned silent and vacant. Then, days later, the rhythmic echo of footsteps sounded down the corridor, stopping just outside the chamber.

"Do you believe this marks his true end?" a man’s voice inquired.

"You know better than anyone that it does not; the quest was your design," Bliss answered. "The Talen family mission remains unfinished. He may rest for now, but he will be summoned again. The Talen lineage must conclude its cycle, is that not correct, Richard?"
