Raoha and her squad land on Island A215 to confront Breydar. As they search for him, a mysterious figure with blue eyes appears and captures Raoha and Luaxa. The rest of the squad attempts a rescue, but they are attacked by phantom arms and then by Breydar himself, who reveals he has an ally.

Raoha, Luaxa, and the others were confident of their victory for the simple reason that they were facing only Breydar.

Sure, Breydar had recently evolved and become stronger. He was no longer a Baron, but he wasn’t exactly a particularly strong Viscount either.

Monsters who had been at the same stage for a long time were usually significantly stronger than newcomers. There were exceptions, but they were rare.

Now, Raoha, Breydar, and the bearded man - all three of them were Viscounts, but they had different levels of power. Raoha was clearly the strongest of the entire squad, followed by the bearded man, and then Breydar.

At least, that’s what each of them would have been willing to bet on. But a real battle wasn’t just a matter of comparing strength levels or energy reserves. It was much more complicated than that, especially when one side was on the other’s territory.

Breydar looked up, watching the figure that was still dragging Raoha and Luaxa behind it as the three of them approached the gray clouds.

"You still haven’t figured out who that is, have you?"

The bearded man frowned.

"What does that mean? Why are you being so mysterious?"

Breydar turned his gaze back to him.

"Because this is no longer a five-against-one fight. Everything has changed. What’s more, there are still only six monsters here. If you understand what that means."

The young men’s eyes widened as they exchanged glances. Slowly, the realization dawned on them.

"Ah? What is he talking about?"

"I don’t know... could his ally be..."

All three looked up at the same time.

At that very moment, the amber energy burst forth in a powerful surge as Raoha knocked the blue-eyed figure aside.

Raoha and Luaxa were sent flying several meters to the left, while the figure slowly came to a stop to the right. The energy blast was powerful, but Raoha managed to do nothing more than create a wisp of smoke. The figure sustained no damage.

The bearded man’s face turned pale as he sensed that the blue-eyed figure’s aura was different.

"Is that a Phantom? But... How did a Phantom end up here? Encountering one of them at the Gray Sea is a rarity in itself. Why is this Phantom here?!"

With the next gust of wind, the amber energy flows swept past the blue-eyed figure, casting light on his face and his calm gaze.

The Veiled Souls Clan was stationed at the Dark Shore and was subordinate to the Befallen Crown.

As such, each of them was obligated to know what threats and objectives the Befallen Crown faced. Clearly, Adam Vinter was one of those threats.

In fact, even without the Befallen Crown factor, many monsters knew who Adam Vinter was, especially those currently at the Dark Shore.

In disbelief, the bearded man turned to Breydar.

"You. How did you manage to convince Adam Vinter to help you? What is he even doing here?!"

Breydar smirked. He was enjoying this reaction.

Just a few moments ago, they had been the hunters, and he had been the helpless prey. But a single Phantom, a temporary ally who had come to kill him, had managed to turn the tables.

"Well, that’s a secret between him and me. The fact is, the three of you will have to fight me. However..."

Breydar’s gaze grew darker.

"I think we all understand that the hardest part won’t be for you, but for those two up there."

The bearded man frowned as he turned to the first young man.

"You, go help Raoha and Luaxa. The two of us can handle this here."

The young man hesitated. He didn’t want to leave his companions in a difficult situation. After all, they were all members of the same clan.

"NOW!" The bearded man shouted.

"Y-Yes!" The young man nodded hastily before shooting upward.

Tremble!

At that very moment, the gray mist surged forward in several powerful streams, forming a dome that easily stopped the first young man.

The bearded man tried to stop Breydar as his own blue mist rushed forward to destroy the dome.

But Breydar was ready for this.

"I’m sorry, but I can’t let him get away. If that happens, my deal with Adam Vinter will be broken, and that would be bad, especially for me."

Click.

Breydar snapped his fingers as the nearest crystal pillar exploded.

The blast threw the bearded man aside just as the gray dome shook.

A multitude of mist arms burst out of the dome, like ghosts from a nightmare, they seized the first young man, scratching his skin and tugging at his limbs as if to tear him to pieces.

Thump!

The bearded man collapsed to the ground. He quickly rose amid a cloud of dust as he raised his hand, firing several mist projectiles.

One after another, the projectiles slammed into the dome, shattering it into fragments and freeing the first young man.

He fell next to the bearded man, bewildered and frightened. If Breydar had had just a little more time, the mist arms would have killed the first young man right then and there.

"I see. So you decided you could defeat three of us, is that it?"

The bearded man frowned, eager to hear an answer.

However, Breydar did not respond. It was to his advantage to stall for time. The island’s energy was regenerating much faster than that of the bearded man and the others.

"Gh." The bearded man grumbled. "Don’t want to talk? Fine, then let’s get down to business."

Step.

The bearded man stepped forward as he grabbed his shoulder, clutching the fabric of his black coat that covered his powerful frame.

With a sweep of his arm, he tore off his coat, revealing his muscular build. His chest, shoulders, and back were covered in countless scars, a reminder of the many battles he had fought and survived.

He turned to the young men.

"You will help me. Attack when you see an opening and block his strikes. Don’t forget that there are three of us and he’s all alone."

Their eyes were full of eagerness to help their elder.

"Yes! We’ll do everything we can!"

Breydar narrowed his eyes as the gray flows wandered beside him.

’Well, I won’t have a better chance of surviving than this one anyway. I’ll kill them and then you, Adam.’
