The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1772: Coming Into An Agreement

Even if the Overlords had their doubts about Kaden, the moment the Elemental Guardian announced the return of the Elemental King, they all went down on their knees and bowed to him.

Kaden merely smiled and motioned for them to stand up.

Right now, a part of his legacy is hidden inside the Elemental Tower.

To get it, he must first challenge the Elemental Tower and climb all the way to the 100th floor. Once he completes that, he also has to race against time to inherit his legacy and come out fast before the creatures of the abyss overwhelm his people.

While he can brag and say he will be able to handle everything, considering he was the one who created the Elemental Tower, the fact of the matter is that he is a Paragon, and as a Paragon, he is considered an enemy wherever he goes.

Kaden doesn’t understand why that is, but he knows the heavens will play against him, and so he has to ensure they don’t have the upper hand, or else he will lose everything he loves to them.

The only saving grace here is that he has some of the most dangerous beings in the universe gathered in one place. While he has no memories yet, he knows this place was created by him, so today, these beings will fight for him.

But he must first convince them.

They still have doubts about whether he is the Elemental King, and even though Maneli revealed he was the one who manifested their Dao and made them stronger, they still want to ensure he is indeed the person they have all looked up to and been grateful to all these years while living inside the Elemental Garden.

"If there is another way, I wouldn’t bother to even ask any of you to fight for me. However, as we stand now, I need to inherit my legacy, and to do that, I need to climb to the 100th floor of the Elemental Tower.

"If I were to do that, danger would come, and they wouldn’t know good from bad. So you all have one chance: either you listen to me and accept my offer or stand aside and wait for death to come for you. Either way, you have 5 days to decide."

"Godfather, I am ready to accept your offer," Saint said, practically beaming with pride, considering her godfather had become the center of attention, and despite the pressure, he stood tall, refusing to be bullied by the four Overlords.

"You haven’t even heard the offer yet, Saint," Kaden laughed, making Saint scratch the back of her head.

"No matter what, I will still accept your offer."

Kaden just shook his head, then he nodded.

"What is your offer?" the Black Flame Dragon Queen asked, her expression still dark.

"Very simple, really. I will awaken and manifest the Dao of a thousand warriors, each from the 12 domains and 4 cities. I can guarantee at least 15% Dao manifestation for each of you.

"Once that is done, you will have to face the coming danger, and while I am not asking you to handle it completely, try as much as possible to contain it for at least 24 hours.

"Once that is handled, you will have a choice to continue following me or remain here. Honestly, following me will do you more good than harm. But who am I to tell you what to do?

"So accept to become a member of the Elemental Legion temporarily. Once that is handled and we are safe from the Abyss Fiends, you can choose to leave my legion, and I won’t stop you. I can even swear on my life not to force you if you don’t trust me."

The offer was very good, and they could tell he indeed meant it when he said it was simple. As it stands now, whether they are for or against the Paragon, the abyss is coming, and they will be in danger.

So why not take him up on his offer, become stronger and survive for a day?

"How sure are we that whatever you have planned will work? For all we know, the success rate is not guaranteed," Idir, the Red Lotus Guardian, asked, causing Kaden to smirk.

He turns and looks at Saint. "Goddaughter, how much do you still trust me?"

"Godfather spared my father because of me, so I trust Godfather with my whole heart, mind, body and soul."

"Well, that is a lot of trust, Saint. But I am happy to hear you trust me." Kaden smiled and asked, "Since you trust me, do you want to accept my offer and become a member of my Elemental Legion?"

"Yes, Godfather."

Kaden nodded and turned to look at King Arshan. "Do you have any problem with Saint becoming a member of my Elemental Legion?" Kaden asked with a flat expression, still not happy with King Arshan.

"She is her own person, so whatever decision she makes, I won’t stop her," King Arshan said, then he narrowed his eyes and warned, "But if something bad happens to her, I won’t care if you are the Elemental King or the Paragon. I will demand an answer from you one way or another."

"Nothing will happen to her. You have my word on that."

King Arshan nodded, and Saint vanished into the shadows, appearing before Kaden the next second.

"You’ve become more in tune with the darkness now, Saint."

Saint smiled and nodded. "I have had a lot of time on my hands to practice, Godfather. I was even hoping to reach the 60th floor this time around so I can awaken my Dao. But since Godfather has offered to help me, who am I to debate?"

Kaden smiled and nodded. Although Saint had become much more mature than in the past, she is still, in his eyes, the same young lady who loves to play pranks on him by hiding in the shadows and darkness just to sneak up on him.

Kaden flicks his hand, and a golden drop of blood appears.

"Swallow this and allow it to take over your entire being."
