Silvana found herself in ancient tunnels beneath the Sun Colosseum at Gladius's request. He revealed that this special arena, once the site of significant battles, housed an External Artifact known as the Lost Sun. Gladius intended for Silvana to meet this artifact, warning her the experience would be difficult as they were pulled towards the fiery orb.

The Sun Colosseum got its name from an External Artifact located beneath it - the Lost Sun.

The heat from the flaming orb, which looked just like the sun, was intense and affected Silvana the moment she and Gladius entered the hall.

Within just a minute, her skin began to redden, and it wouldn’t be long before the pleasant warmth turned into painful heat and burns.

All Silvana wanted then was to take one last look at the flaming orb and return to the cool tunnels, but Gladius had other ideas.

Even though their skin had begun to burn, he grabbed Silvana by the wrist and walked with her straight toward the flaming orb.

"Wait, wait, wait!" Silvana exclaimed, feeling a wave of intense heat rushing toward her. "Stop! We’ll burn to a crisp!"

Gladius turned to her as tiny sparks of amber began to appear among his long, shoulder-length black hair, sparks that would soon flare up with renewed intensity.

Unlike the terrified Silvana, Gladius’s face bore only a smile, though the flames affected him just as much as they did her.

There was no difference between them, no matter how much stronger Gladius was than Silvana. The flame of the Lost Sun was ready to turn them both into handfuls of ash.

"Come on! Silvana, isn’t this fun? You should enjoy such adventurous exploits! Feel the flame and don’t resist!"

Gladius took another step forward as they both stood before the flaming orb.

He reached out his hand, and in no time, his skin and flesh burned away, leaving only bare bone on his finger, which also began to burn to a cinder, though at a slower rate.

"You haven’t met him yet, but the Lost Sun is an interesting guy, I’m sure you’ll learn a lot from this encounter!"

Without waiting for Silvana’s reply, he yanked her by the arm, throwing her forward, straight into the flaming orb.

Before the flames could engulf her, her hair and face burned away, leaving only her skeleton.

Gladius watched Silvana disappear with a slight smile on his face.

For some reason, he decided not to rush and stopped not far from the flaming orb.

The same thing happened to his face and chest as had happened to Silvana and his finger, but unlike Silvana, who couldn’t endure such intense pain, Gladius remained calm.

"Indeed, Silvana is a clever young lady, but she still has much to learn. She actually lacks the skills, even the instincts. Huh, I thought she’d figure out what was going on here."

The corners of Gladius’s mouth turned upward, forming a sly smirk.

Tap. Tap.

He tapped the side of his head.

"All that fire, it was only in your mind, Silvana, just like the pain."

Gladius’s eyes flashed as his face, chest, and finger returned to normal. His hair and clothes stopped burning, and the flames seemed to begin to bypass him.

It might have been that way from the very beginning, but Silvana didn’t know that, and Gladius was in no hurry to tell her.

Still, Gladius didn’t step into the flaming orb. He waited, and only after thirty minutes did he glance at the watch on his wrist and nod deeply.

"Alright, I think that’s enough."

He stepped forward as his dark silhouette dissolved into the fire.

...

Step.

Silvana stepped forward, her eyes wide with horror. From her perspective, it looked as if Gladius had thrown her into the sun, and the temperature inside the sun was so high that she would burn up in a split second.

But... That didn’t happen.

"Agh... Agh... Agh..." Silvana gasped for breath before coming to her senses.

A few seconds later, she raised her head only to see a white expanse with clouds of flame floating within it.

Unlike the fire emanating from the flaming orb, the clouds were harmless and even had a soothing effect.

"Huh. So that’s why that sly bastard was so calm," Silvana muttered, looking at a cloud in front of her. The flame wasn’t hot, and she even felt like touching it as if it were a pet.

Whoooosh!

As soon as she reached out her hand, the cloud trembled and flew away, afraid of her.

"Don’t be in such a hurry. They’re pretty skittish."

A voice came from off to the side, causing Silvana to look toward the center of the clearing.

Strangely enough, she saw a boy who was no older than a teenager. He had ash-colored hair and bright, amber eyes.

He wasn’t looking at Silvana as he sat in front of a pond over which a round stone, resembling the moon, hovered.

This moon was the only thing in this place that emitted a gentle chill, not to freeze or harm, but to bring a sense of freshness.

Silvana gulped.

"This... Is this the Lost Sun? But isn’t he just a boy?"

Sure, Silvana knew about Lone Blaze and the other External and Ancient artifacts. They all took human forms, even the Grad Family’s Legacy Artifact.

However, of all the Artifacts, she had only encountered Lone Blaze. She didn’t know much about them, and she had even less experience.

"Come closer, don’t be afraid. Gladius is standing outside, waiting. He wants us to talk to you first." The Lost Sun’s voice rang out.

His tone and the way he spoke didn’t match the age of his avatar.

Silvana nodded and stepped forward cautiously.

Unlike Adam’s inner space, where darkness acted as an endless invisible floor, now beneath her feet was not just light, but clouds that trembled with each of her steps like a trampoline.

Tap.

The Lost Sun tapped the spot to his right.

"Sit down, Silvana."

"Ah? You know my name?" Silvana was confused.

The Lost Sun nodded.

"I know about you, about Adam Vinter, and about every person in whom I see a flame. I know about all the talents in this world. That’s my job."

He turned to her, his eyes becoming as deep as gemstones.

"And now, I’ll look at you with particular interest."
