The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1620: Reunion
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
Klaus knew he was a bit out of line referring to a dignified person such as the Elven Empress so casually. She was someone revered by all Elves across the universe, so they didn’t joke about her or her image at all.
But while he was out of line, he had also just saved thousands of their kind, so it was fair game. Even if they had taken offence, he wouldn’t have been killed for something that harmless.
The live stream had already ended, so whatever was happening now was only being witnessed by the people who came with Empress Korvaxa.
"You have done the Elven Empire a great service, Renegade Hunter," Empress Korvaxa said, looking straight into Klaus’s eyes.
Deep within, Klaus felt like he had seen this gaze before. However, no matter how hard he searched through his memories, he couldn’t quite place where he had seen it. This made him scratch his head a bit.
In the end, he decided to let it slide.
"I only did what I was hired to do," Klaus replied with a slight smile. "That said, if you or anyone in your empire wants a hunter for jobs many deem impossible, don’t hesitate to book. A disowned child such as myself needs all the money he can get if I intend to keep growing."
"I will keep that in mind," Empress Korvaxa said and turned to the side, gesturing to one of the ladies Klaus recognized.
"Princess Threnody, take the Renegade Hunter back to the capital and ensure he gets comfortable. I will handle a few things here with the elders before returning to reward him."
Princess Threnody nodded, then moved toward Klaus with a straight expression.
"You can follow me now, Renegade Hunter. I will make sure your stay is comfortable."
Klaus, who planned to see what the Elven Capital looked like, nodded. Although the Celestial Supreme was expecting him, he wasn’t about to pass up an opportunity to reunite with not two but three people from the past.
"I will go with them to make sure they are okay," Grand Elder Xylarae said, and Empress Korvaxa nodded. She was already Princess Threnody’s master, so she had no reason to deny or doubt her.
The monk, who stood quietly on the side, smiled and spoke, "I suppose my job here is done. On that note, I will be on my way now. You, children, can tag along."
"Okay, Grand Ancestor," Empress Korvaxa said. She had no reason to object to this man’s decision. The monk had been their Grand Ancestor and guardian for many eras.
He had lived since the Renegade Era.
He also had long since reached the realm of a Pseudo-Primordial and had even ventured beyond the borders of the universe many times.
Because of him, the Heavens Court dared not pressure the Elven Empire to reveal what was found on the ten planets inside the Sylvaris Planetary System.
He didn’t interfere in matters like this, but he also wouldn’t allow a big threat to impact the empire. His strength is just too unfathomable, so dealing with small things like this would end up being catastrophic.
He only reveals himself whenever the empire is in danger. So his appearance here today was even more surprising.
Then again, the person involved was someone many called Paragon’s equal, so seeing him in person was only natural for most old warriors like him.
He waved his hand, and a void gate opened, one that connected directly to the capital. It was like walking through a door, and they would find themselves in the Elven Capital.
Klaus, along with Princess Threnody and Grand Elder Xylarae, walked through the gate, and it closed behind them. The monk simply vanished from sight.
"Let’s go," Empress Korvaxa said to her elders, and soon they left Planet Sorat. They planned on strengthening the defenses of the Sylvaris Planetary System this time around.
Already, some warriors had gone over to the location where the miners (hostages) were being held to free them. Upon arriving, they saw that the 1,000 demons left to keep an eye on the elves had already been brutally killed.
The Light Ascension Spear and the Ten Calamity Prayer Bead had done their jobs well. In fact, even if they hadn’t been with Klaus when he arrived, he would have simply sent a few clones to deal with those 1,000 demons.

Meanwhile, Klaus, Princess Threnody, Grand Elder Xylarae, and the monk appeared in a garden somewhere within the Elven Capital.
The moment they arrived, Klaus turned and faced the three people.
For a brief moment, the air hung with anticipation. However, Klaus soon smiled and spoke words that made the two ladies widen their eyes.
"I guess being the Uncle Monk of a Paragon has some perks after all?"
"What can I say, Fruity? You saved us, so we all made a life for ourselves," Uncle Monk smiled. "Or did you think we would accept you risking your happy ending to save us again?"
The dignified monk who had been the shield of the Elven Empire since the beginning of the Shadow Era opened his arms, and Klaus jumped into them.
Princess Threnody and Grand Elder Xylarae’s jaws hung open, but the monk and his little brat didn’t mind them.
Right now, Klaus’s mind had become that of a thirteen-year-old and had returned to when he was Fruity, the only kid among a monastery of thousands of monks.
The man he was hugging now was one of the five Ancestor Monks he had played countless pranks on back when he was just an innocent child, his life filled with rainbows and sunshine.
They had protected him and made sure he had the best years of his life. They had even been ready to lay down their lives for him simply because they wanted him to live on.
Some died, and the few he was able to save had thrived, one of them becoming the guardian of an entire empire.
So, without even asking, one could tell Klaus was now incredibly happy, and the two ladies, who had been stunned at first, managed to calm their beating hearts and continued to watch.
A few minutes later, Klaus pulled away with a smile on his face.
He turned to the two ladies and introduced his Uncle Monk. "This is one of my Uncle Monks, someone who looked after me when I was merely a child during my fourth incarnation."
He then turned to his Uncle Monk. "Uncle Monk, these are friends of mine from my third incarnation." He paused and thought for a moment before asking, "Do you happen to know of the seven Elven Warriors called the Chaste Maidens during the Blood Era?"
Uncle Monk furrowed his brow and looked at the two ladies. "Pleasure meeting you, ladies. Now that I know we both share the same connection to the Paragon, you are free to call me Uncle Monk from now on."
They were stunned but nodded.
"Great," Klaus beamed.
"We have so much to talk about and catch up on, Uncle Monk. However, before that, I want to have a private conversation with these two ladies, if you don’t mind."
"Go ahead, Fruity. I have all the time in the cosmos."
Klaus nodded and waved his hand, causing himself, along with Princess Threnody and Grand Elder Xylarae, to vanish into the Demon Bead.
When Uncle Monk saw this, he smiled.
He was there when Fruity first awakened it during the Renegade Era, so seeing it again brought back old memories.
"Great to have you back, Fruity. I just hope this time around, you won’t have to put your life on the line for anyone," he smiled, knowing his wishful thoughts were wishful at best.
