The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 2059: Wrath of Two
Previously on The Invincible Full-Moon System...
About ten thousand mirror slashes to break the gap between her and the Major Laws.
It felt like it had already been hours since the Purgation Duel started—when in reality, it had been barely twenty minutes. And in those twenty minutes, Vadyn hadn’t stopped moving. She kept moving, slashing, marking the impenetrable barriers.
Five thousand slashes per barrier, and she finally saw the crack.
As someone with the Glass World Oustification, her power has close ties to anything translucent.
She could take control of other powers with that fundamental likeness alone.
Among the warriors participating in the Purgation Duel, she has the lowest divinity points—but she has a treasure to bolster that. Moreover, High Lord Rashal had also temporarily given a share of his to her— which can be done as long as there were blood ties.
Due to that, she was able to bypass the impenetrable barriers protecting these two High Millinars.
Like a ghost, her hand disappeared into the barrier as she entered her reflection.
Her torso followed, and then her legs.
Such a sight caught the two High Millinars by surprise, and then their eyes widened even more—when Vadyn could be seen swimming within the surface of the barrier. A shadow moving inside it. And then, she came out with an intricate sword in her hand.
One that was made entirely of glass all the way to the handle.
Anyone wielding it would suffer severe cuts, but not Vadyn—she could wield it without a problem.
It was the Shattering Sword.
"You underestimated me too much," She smirked—as her Shattering Sword shimmered with immortal energy. "Now die! One-thousand Shattering Reflection Technique, Fourth Form! Rapid Breaking Cuts!"
Slash—!
Vadyn’s body burst with immortal energy—as her speed suddenly spiked to a blinding level. She phased through the High Millinar’s body and emerged on the other side. Behind her, countless flashes emerged in slow motion before they came rapidly at once.
A barrage of cuts came at once, tearing open the High Millinar’s armour and drawing blood.
Around, the impenetrable barrier imploded and shattered into a thousand fragments.
But she didn’t stop there.
Reacting quickly, the other High Millinar channelled his Major Law of Ice, summoning a cloud of ice shards that tried to surround Vadyn from all sides and choke her. But Vadyn disappeared, merging with the ice shards and then reappearing a distance away on the red shore.
Not only that, but she was also already in a low stance, the Shattering Sword right beside her temple.
"One-thousand Shattering Reflection Technique, Fifth Form! Reality Breaker Thrust!"
Swoosh—!
Vadyn blasted forward with incredible speed.
Again, the High Millinar tried to catch her, but his power was already marked, and she easily sliced the ice shards with her body alone and then thrust her Shattering Sword at the second impenetrable barrier. Cracks spread like spiderwebs, and then Vadyn went through.
Crash—!
"Raarghk!"
Even with his armour, the thrust rammed straight into his stomach and forced blood out of his mouth.
Such a pain was surprising since it came from Vadyn.
Based on their research, Vadyn reigned as a high-ranking Enforcer stationed at the main headquarters in Larta City. Yet she barely fought in the open. Most of her battles ended quickly, or she simply unleashed someone else to do the killing.
Never got her hands real dirty.
Naturally, they thought she was simply insecure, as she was nothing compared to High Lord Rashal.
But that wasn’t entirely the case.
For her power to be able to bypass the gap in divinity points between them was quite shocking.
"Ignore her!" the High Millinar roared to the other. "Diamantona!"
Hearing this, the other nodded as the two forsook the barrier and went straight to Diamantona.
Diamantona was the only person who could turn the tide around back in their favour.
A desperate charge at Diamantona to help him break free from the dimensional prison was something that put a smile on Vadyn’s face. Had the two played defensively or even worked together to stop her?—there might not be any chance for her to do damage.
’But if they were desperate like this...’ Vadyn grinned and then immediately charged straight at them.
Meanwhile, in the sky, the battle continued.
"You still have no chance against me!"
Rex’s laughter echoed across the heavens as his eyes glistened with a maniacal light.
His words seeped into High Millinar Julas’ ears, and then a tectonic explosion cracked the sky.
Boom—!
High Millinar Julas didn’t attack; he simply channelled his newfound power.
Inside, he could feel High Millinar Angela’s raging emotions that coursed through his blood vessels like liquid fire. Immortal energy flared from every pore of his body as he screamed—a raw, agonized sound that came from two people at once.
His fish-like skin had already taken on the color of frost, pale and blue and terrible.
From his back, a thick tail of an orca with the same color scheme grew, ending in a tip of icy sharpness that gleamed like a blade. And behind him, a phantom materialized. No—an apparition. A bright bluish specter filled with millions of souls.
Each one tried to escape, shoving their faces against the spectral skin of the apparition.
But none of them could—forever trapped.
All of them were the souls that made High Millinar Angela as strong as she was—and now, those souls sang a requiem for High Millinar Julas. Heightening his power to even greater heights than it was only minutes ago.
His scream kept rising. Higher. Louder.
His aura swelled with it, growing heavier and more suffocating with every passing second.
Rex could feel the increase in strength, and it was commendable.
Two times stronger; Three times.
Aroun—the air bent around High Millinar Julas as a pillar of immortal energy climbed to the sky, as if the newfound power inside him had turned him into a beacon of pure energy that blotted out the full moons and the stars.
And then, with a thunderous bellow, his entire body detonated.
"RAARGGH!!"
KABOOM—!
Immortal energy erupted around him like a blooming flower made of ice and coldness.
Petals of frost spread outward, each one promising death.
High Millinar Julas shed his identity. Shed his reason for fighting in this Purgation Duel. He focused on the feeling of a heartbroken soul inside him, the one that mourned the loss of a family. He now inherited the heart of someone else, and now he became the hammer of vengeance.
Slowly, his fingers turned into sharp claws with an uncomfortable bone-breaking sound.
He pointed at Rex as his voice tore from his throat, "You will pay... for everything you’ve done!"
High Millinar Julas exploded forward.
And Rex also charged to meet him without hesitation, "Didn’t you hear me?! You have no chance!"
BOOM—!
The impact was a thunderous shockwave of crimson and ice-blue that spread across the entire sky.
It created a rain of energy that blotted out the spectators from seeing anything.
And then—two streaks of light, one blue-frost and the other crimson, blasted out in a high-speed pursuit, moving like sky snakes that twisted and twirled with unbelievable speed. They exchanged blows more than ten times in a matter of a single second.
Explosions resounded with each collision, the air cracked, and the sky split open.
Both of their claws collided.
But then, High Millinar Julas’ claws exploded with tectonic strength.
One that caught Rex by surprise and launched him away.
For the first time throughout the whole battle—he lost a direct strength contest. The surprise on his face was genuine. He then looked down at the source of the pain, the blood scratch on his chest, and watched it regenerate.
High Millinar Julas didn’t stop.
He chased after Rex, unleashing a blizzard of attacks using his newfound speed.
Now with his new tail, he swam through the air like he was in water, moving faster than he ever could before. Rex was hacked two dozen times in two seconds. His world spun. Blood sprayed in a messy arc in the air.
He couldn’t track the attacks fast enough—they came from everywhere.
A storm of claws and ice.
Just then, Rex’s crimson eyes snapped to the side as he found High Millinar Julas.
A roar tore through his mouth as he cast the Almighty Aura skill—unleashing a strong wave of pressure that should have stunned and weakened anything in its path. But High Millinar Julas swatted it aside as if it was nothing.
His claws cut through the air and stabbed through Rex’s stomach, and with a snarl, he pushed.
Boom—!
Rex’s mouth exploded with blood as a blooming ice burst from his back and spread inside his body.
Or at least, he thought it was ice that spread inside his body, but he was wrong.
Dozens of small eel-like creatures burrowed themselves into his body, attacking everything that their small teeth could reach. Being eaten from the inside was nothing pleasant, as the pain was beyond even the pain tolerance of a seasoned warrior.
But Rex wasn’t a normal seasoned warrior.
As he was about to retaliate, something throbbed inside him.
Something was moving inside him.
No—something was awakening.
Like a presence he had never known existed, buried deep within the marrow of his being—stirring from a slumber that had lasted eons. It wasn’t the creatures eating him from inside. No, this was completely different from them.
Something vast was rapidly waking up.
Rex wanted to retaliate.
Being pummelled like this would only exhaust his regeneration more and more, so he wanted to move, to fight, to tear High Millinar Julas apart with his bare hands. But this awakening froze his body, locking every muscle, every sinew, and every nerve in place.
He couldn’t move. Couldn’t speak. Couldn’t do anything but hang in there.
Suspended in the air as the sensation swelled within him.
High Millinar Julas saw the stillness and mistook it for weakness.
For the entirety of the battle, Rex hadn’t even seemed to hurt from any attacks at all.
So, seeing him like this brought euphoria to him.
"Yes," he hissed. "Yes, that’s it. Suffer."
He landed on the dark ocean surface and slammed his palms down, spreading immortal energy into the depths. Three lightning eels erupted from below—the same creatures that had pierced through Davina earlier.
But their lightning wasn’t red anymore. It was blue, ice-blue, crackling with the freezing effect of frost.
High Millinar Julas waved his hand, a signal to continue on pressuring Rex.
Giving no time for him to breathe.
And the lightning eels attacked.
They blasted skyward with the speed of lightning, stabbing through Rex’s body like bullets.
One punched through his shoulder. Another through his thigh. A third through his side. His regeneration worked overtime, knitting the wounds shut—almost as fast as they were made. But the lightning eels were relentless, attacking again and again, leaving holes across his entire form.
A greedy one tried to stab through his head.
But the Absolute Anger Effect flared, stopping it dead in its tracks, forcing the creature to retreat.
And with each strike, the feeling inside Rex grew worse.
Bloated. That was what Rex was feeling right now. He felt bloated, swollen, as if something inside him was expanding beyond its confines, pressing against his organs, his bones, his skin. The sensation was so strong, so overwhelming, that it overpowered the pain of having holes carved through his body.
He wanted to vomit. He wanted to scream. But he couldn’t.
High Millinar Julas poured more immortal energy into the ocean, his eyes flickering with malice.
He wasn’t going to stop until Rex was dead.
And then, the ocean split open.
A myriad of sea creatures exploded from the depths—thousands of them, grotesque bodies writhing, mouths gaping, eyes wild. They surged upward in a living tide, eager to devour Rex alive—to rend him apart piece by piece.
And Rex’s eyes flickered.
He realized what he was feeling.
It was his new power.
Just then, a whisper slipped out of his lips, "Originality of the Beast..."
