High Millinar Angela realizes that her comrade, High Millinar Vlaos, is being controlled and attacking High Millinar Julas. It is revealed that Vlaos is not mind-controlled but is actually dead, with Rex controlling his corpse. Rex then appears, revealing he did this as revenge for Angela laughing at his previous actions, inflicting emotional pain on her by targeting someone she cared about. He absorbs Vlaos's divinity to replenish his own power.

No mercy.

It was the code reserved for his enemies.

In every battle he had fought where his life was at serious stake, against every opponent he had faced on his climb to power, one truth held without exception. One that every single enemy he had faced held as if it was their sacred code.

None of them would show Rex mercy. None.

Naturally, that code was engraved into his mind and soul.

So, anyone who did wrong to him would be shown no mercy, no matter what.

Many would think what High Millinar Angela did was minor, but it was far more than that to him.

Ever since Edward was taken away, plunged into a realm that only knows anarchy and suffering, Rex had lost a piece of himself. Because of their altercation, Rex erased Edward from his mind, yes, but that day when Edward was swallowed into the Chaos Realm was when they came to an understanding.

It was their first time united and fighting on the same side again.

Just like how it was supposed to be.

Losing Edward was devastating to Rex, as he was the only old friend that he had left.

Someone who understood him on an intrinsic level, as Edward also had the same background as him.

But more than that, Rex could still hear Edward’s scream like it happened only yesterday.

For someone who had gone through the same training in the Noob Box—Edward also has an incredible amount of pain tolerance. Normal or even extreme pain would barely faze him, so the pain he felt within the Chaos Realm must be beyond comprehension.

It hadn’t been that long since Edward was plunged into the Chaos Realm for the Mortal Realm.

It had been years for Rex.

And for Edward, it must’ve been a lot longer than that.

Rex could never fully erase Edward from his mind; the suffering, the isolation, the hopelessness that Edward must’ve felt inside the Chaos Realm resurfaced occasionally. Like a reminder that he still hadn’t rescued his old friend.

But he always tried to push those thoughts back so that he could focus.

Regardless of what Edward felt, he could endure it.

Or at least, that’s the belief that Rex clung to in order to keep his mind focused. If anyone could survive the Chaos Realm and remain sane, it would be Edward. But they said nobody came out alive—or the same after entering the Chaos Realm.

It was the new information that shattered his fragile illusion.

And during that moment, High Millinar Angela dared to laugh at him for trying to save his old friend.

Such an offense was beyond anything Rex could tolerate.

No matter what High Millinar Angela says or does, he would never let that transgression slide.

Never.

Rex kept that in mind constantly, and now, he managed to make sure High Millinar Angela understood his pain. Her hope of thinking that High Millinar Vlaos could still be saved, and have it crushed in front of her eyes, would be her punishment.

Seeing her broken face right now, Rex deemed it absolutely appropriate and necessary.

Vengeance has been delivered, and now it was time for her to embrace death.

<Sacrifice for the Greater Moon: 1/2>

Rex smiled at the notification.

Just earlier, the moment High Millinar Julas left High Millinar Vlaos alone—Rex immediately attacked. He used his Phantom Pack skill to summon his wolves and sent them straight at the lone High Millinar. Not to kill him, but to provide a distraction.

It allowed Rex to break free from the chains and then engage in a strict duel.

Considering that High Millinar Vlaos could not beat him when paired with High Millinar Angela, there was no way he could fare against Rex alone. He quickly got mauled to near-death—but Rex didn’t kill him despite wanting to.

Instead, he used the Divine Tainting skill by branding High Millinar Vlaos with the Heresy Mark.

A skill that attacked the spirituality and severed his connection with the Overseer.

Rex had always kept the System’s scanning feature on from the moment he entered the God Realm, and it was still like that until now. And through the System—he knew that there were several life-saving items within High Millinar Vlaos’ clothes and also the Law of Mind inside his mind.

Fortunately, the Divine Tainting skill could bypass that.

And with that, High Millinar Vlaos fell under his absolute control.

Rex could use him to battle against High Millinar Angela and Julas, providing an additional terror—by forcing the two to battle against the corpse of their comrade. But assuming that he might not get another chance to absorb the divinity, he decided not to do it.

Instead, he let the two High Millinars watch their comrade crushed into nutrients.

Nutrients that were exclusively for Rex’s body.

Checking his stats for a quick moment, he smiled to see his divinity points had increased.

Now, his divinity points rose to almost two hundred thousand points.

More than a thirty percent increase.

Rex rode the Aegis of Moon Sentinel and floated skyward, arms spread wide. Above him, the brilliant full moon glowed with a silvery hue, swelling larger until it dominated the sky. The Moon Calling skill had allowed him to summon an illusion of the Greater Moon that contained a sliver of its presence.

It only had the presence of the Greater Moon, but its effect was still stronger than even the full moon.

Of course, Aylith was now weakened.

But it was also because of that—the Greater Moon was focused on him even more.

Unlike the other prevalent Gods, Aylith only has one champion and inhabitant in his Sovereign Realm.

And naturally, every single power of the Greater Moon was hogged by this one person.

Rex.

He was silhouetted by the silvery light, leaving only his crimson eyes visible.

"If you have a problem with it," Rex spread his arms wider. "I’m right... here."

High Millinar Angela screamed—a raw voice that came directly from her throat.

It was a sound torn from the deepest chamber of her soul—raw, ragged, inhuman. Tears streamed down her face, cutting tracks through the grime and blood. And her eyes, those eyes fixed on Rex with a pure hatred so absolute that it should’ve killed him where he stood.

Her comrade and also family was dead.

High Millinar Vlaos, who had stood beside her for centuries, who had shared victories and defeats, who had been closer than blood, was now no more. Murdered in cold blood by the Demigod before her very eyes.

And that was more than enough to make anyone insane.

<Killing intent!>

A smile spread across Rex’s face as High Millinar Angela managed to trigger the killing intent quest.

Not many could do that, and she was one of the individuals who could.

But hatred was his forte, and he wasn’t foreign to anger.

Under such immense bloodlust, Rex felt nothing but exhilaration. Fighting for duty is commendable at most, but fighting for hatred and anger was beautiful. Something that Rex could marvel at—a window for nostalgia, as he was also like her once.

Rex’s smile widened as he watched her anguish.

He drank her pain like wine.

It was the smile of a predator who had broken its prey, who was now watching it writhe in its final death throes of despair. Prey would only give exhilaration to the predator if it tried to survive, and now, she had given Rex that exhilaration.

High Millinar Angela saw that smile, and something inside her snapped.

Splash—!

"Krrhk!"

She savagely stabbed herself.

She drove her own hand into her stomach, punching through flesh—and muscle and bone. Blood burst from her mouth, an ice-cold liquid that drizzled down her chin. Directly beside her, High Millinar Julas’ eyes went wide with shock.

"Angela!" He roared and tried to stop her, but she resisted. "What are you doing?!"

She didn’t answer. She couldn’t, as the pain was beyond words, beyond thought.

But it was necessary. It was the only way for them to fight back against the monster hovering above.

And at the realization of what she was trying to do, High Millinar Julas’ face turned pale.

"Angela, you don’t have to do this. We can still ask the others for help!"

"No—there was no other way."

Swish...

Sparkling ice-blue energy began to seep from the hole in her stomach, curling upward like smoke from a frozen pyre. And then, from somewhere deep within her, she pulled. A sparkling orb emerged—a core of ice and power, so dense with immortal energy and divinity points that the very fabric of space around it began to crack.

Seeing this, the Cluster Custodian quickly used his power to reinforce the dimension.

And only then did reality hold together under the pressure radiating from the orb.

It looked like the heart of an ice mountain—ancient, absolute, and impossibly cold.

High Millinar Angela snapped her gaze towards High Millinar Julas. Her eyes were wild, desperate, but also determined. Beneath the madness, there was clarity. Purpose. Vengeance. She shoved the orb toward him. "Take it and make sure to make him pay for what he did.

"No." High Millinar Julas shook his head. "Angela, this will—"

"Take it!" She screamed. "I don’t care! Take it and kill him! You’re the strongest one out of all of us. If anyone deserved this, then you are! Just make sure to kill him for good and make it painful." Her voice weakened. "Please..."

He wanted to refuse.

Every instinct screamed at him to refuse.

For him to take the orb would mean risking turning her into a crippled Demigod for eternity.

She would be nothing—an empty shell, stripped of power, stripped of everything that allowed her to be where she was right now. But the determination in her eyes left him with no choice. Refusing her would only make her do something even more reckless.

Something would kill her outright in vain.

So, with a heavy heart, he grabbed the sparkling orb and swallowed it.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Just then the orb blazed within his body, settling at his core like a second heart.

On the side, High Millinar Angela screamed.

Her body began to tear apart. Cracks spread across her skin like fractures in glass, and from those cracks, light poured out—ice-blue, blinding, terrible. She was breaking. Coming apart. And then, with a final, agonized cry, her physical form shattered entirely, dissolving into an astral projection that was pulled—sucked—into High Millinar Julas’s body.

A detonation of power erupted.

Kaboom—!

The expanding ring of ice-blue destruction tore across the battlefield—strong enough to even force Rex to raise the golden disc and brace against the shockwave. The sand around them turned to glass. The air itself seemed to freeze and shatter.

Once the shockwave finally dissipated, Rex lowered the disc and beheld what stood before him.

High Millinar Julas was no longer the same. His fish-like skin had turned ice-blue, pale as a frozen lake, and across its surface, seething souls writhed—trapped spirits, remnants of the fallen, their faces twisted in silent screams.

His eyes glowed with a cold, piercing light.

And his aura—his aura was immense. Heavy.

It was the kind of pressure that made the air feel thick, and the ground feel fragile.

He had become something more. Something terrible.

Something that might actually be able to kill Rex.

But Rex, despite the ice-cold, despite the pressure brushing against his skin, and despite the new monster standing before him—something that he had created—only smiled wider. "Is this really the maximum extent of your power?"

His eyes bore witness to the marvelous sight of his new enemy.

A powerhouse born of hatred for him.

Anyone would be worried by now, but Rex wasn’t one of those people.

"I’m sorry to break it to you," Rex opened his mouth and laughed cynically—looking down on whatever High Millinar Julas had become. "You still have no chance against me!"
