“Father told me you have returned and that you may come to visit me,” Love said, seated on the passenger side of her car with Klaus seated beside her.
She held his hand. “He always sends your image whenever you reincarnate and return to this universe, just so I would recognise you and not offend you, should in case we meet.”
“Very considerate of him, I guess,” Klaus said with a soft laugh.
He was taken aback when Love recognised him. He knew she was different, but there was no way she should have recognised him as her uncle. That was just impossible.
But now, learning that Gorr was the one who made sure she knew, he could only smile and nod.
“Father told me you now have more than one body, that you can be at multiple places at the same time,” Love said, her eyes sparkling, almost as if she were a child again.
Many years ago, when Klaus met Gorr, Love was basically dead. Well, she died, but he brought her back by literally going down to the underworld and dragging her soul back.
It was his first time coming face to face with the King of the Underworld and also the start of what could be considered a rivalry, one that, to this day, left undecided who among them was more handsome, the Paragon or Yama, the King of the Underworld.
After he brought Love back to life, he provided for her and her father. Later, when he brought the Necrosword, and Gorr instantly formed a connection with it, Love had to be taken far away before the sword corrupted her.
Klaus discovered that Gorr’s only weakness was his daughter, so taking her away was the only way to protect them both. Years and eras later, Love had become a beautiful lady who turned heads wherever she went.
Having her back was surely for the best.
“Gorr really should learn how to keep his mouth shut,” Klaus laughed, and Love laughed with him. “But yes, I have other bodies out there. Later, I will allow you to meet a few of them.”
“That would be so cool.” Love smiled and placed her head on Klaus’s shoulder. “I am happy you have returned, Uncle.”
“I am also happy to be back and see you healthy and all grown up.”
Tasha was driving the car, but she kept her focus on Klaus, determined to make sure he died the moment the idea of harming Love came to his mind.
Luckily, even by the time they arrived at Love’s mansion, Klaus didn’t do anything.
“Uncle, you have already met Tasha, but now that we are back home, allow me to introduce her properly.” Love took Tasha’s hand.
“You already know I mostly sleep every era, to pass the time. After the era of the paragon of elements, I went to sleep again.
“Unfortunately, the planet I was kept on went to war with another planet.
“During that battle, my sleeping pod was damaged, and so I woke up prematurely. Tasha found me and took me away, bringing me to the Human Universe and caring for me for 50,000 years.
“When I recovered and woke up, I discovered that she was a mercenary hired to kill me, but she rescued me instead. We became friends, and after years of moving from one planet to another, we settled on this planet, and I decided to take Father’s suggestion and infiltrate the Heavens Court organization with Tasha.
“I am now in charge of logistics for this Galaxy, and Tasha is my ever-capable assistant and guard. But aside from that, she is my sister, best friend and family.”
Klaus smiled at Tasha, who still had a calm, unbothered expression. “Nice meeting you, Tasha. My name is Klaus Hanson, but since you already know, I am also the Paragon of the Nine Stars. I am Love’s favourite uncle.”
He extended his hand, and after Tasha gave Love a look, she extended hers as well, and they shook hands.
“Nice meeting you, Lord Paragon. I have heard many things about you from Love.”
“I hope they are good things.”
She didn’t reply to him. “Tasha is a woman of few words. Her talking is mostly done through battles and bloodshed.”
Klaus grinned. “I like me a woman who doesn’t fear blood.”
Love smirked. “Of course you do. After all, you were once the Lord of the Asura race.”
Klaus laughed and sat down, Love sitting beside him, practically hugging him.
“While on that topic, Father told me you can make anyone an Asura. Uncle, can you make me and Tasha Asuras too? We are, like, huge fans of the most badass race to ever live.”
Klaus laughed but nodded. “Of course I can make you an Asura, but Tasha cannot become one.”
Love frowned, and so did Tasha. “Why can’t she become an Asura?”
“Because she is special in her own way. If I force the Asura bloodline on her, she might die.”
Love furrowed her brow and looked at Tasha. “I am sorry, Tasha. I know you wanted to become an Asura and fight side by side with the Asura Queen.”
Tasha actually smiled, showing a dimple. “It is okay, Love. Somehow, I knew deep down that I wasn’t cut out to be an Asura. But since you can become one, don’t turn it down because of me.”
The smile remained, but both Klaus and Love knew she was actually sad. “I will go wash up now and prepare dinner.”
She left, and Love tried to run after her, but Klaus stopped her. “Let her be for now. I am sure she will calm down after freshening up.”
Love nodded, but she was worried for her friend.
“Relax, Love. While I came to see you today, Tasha is also a major reason why I came to this planet.”
Love sat upright. “I know I should be jealous, but really? Who is she to you? And before you lie, Father told me you have many friends and lovers, so is Tasha one of your past-life lovers?”
“Gorr really should put a padlock on his mouth.” Klaus laughed and added, “And yes, Tasha was once my lover. But before that, she was my stepsister, and the reason why I said she is special is because she is the key to my power. Without her, I cannot become me.”
Inside the bathroom, somewhere in the mansion, Tasha’s eyes widened.
