"What’s going on!? What’s happening!?"

"The soldiers are attacking!"

"Everybody move! Get out of the way!"

The civilians were completely powerless to stand up to the soldiers, and they all began a stampede as they tried to get away from the mind-controlled soldiers! Jason frowned as he realised how desperate the Mind Apostle was getting! Was he really going to try and kill millions of people just to make sure Jason didn’t stop the ceremony? Jason was going to make sure he tortured that fucking bastard to death one day!

Jason immediately put out a command to all the subordinates and told them to handle the soldiers and prisoners!

’Bishops, drag the soldiers in the crowd into the shadows and keep them there. Rooks, build a formation around the main city and block the progress of the prisoners. Try your best not to kill anyone unless it’s absolutely necessary.’

The Legion subordinates immediately obeyed, and they moved to apprehend the mind-controlled soldiers and criminals! The Bishops immediately pulled any soldier that was attacking a civilian into the shadows and left them in there so that they wouldn’t cause any more harm, and the Rooks formed a straight line along the edge of the city and activated [Great Wall]! A massive magical construct formed along the city border and blocked any of the prisoners from entering, but even with this blockade, the prisoners still refused to stop!

They were like mindless zombies that charged towards the wall with reckless abandon, and they slammed into the Great Wall and climbed on top of each other as they tried to get over to the other side and reach Jason! Jason sent a signal to Azrael to create a magic shield around here, and Azrael put his staff up and formed a shield that slammed down on the border of the city and blocked any of the prisoners from entering! But even with all of this, Jason could still tell that the prisoners would not be stopping for anything!

’I need to finish this before they hurt themselves.’

Jason didn’t know how, but he had a feeling that the only reason all these people were trying so desperately to reach him was so they could stop him from reaching Agiel, and Jason knew that stopping this wedding and forming the bond with Agiel might be the only way to help them. So Jason decided to focus on what was more important, and he turned towards the magical shield surrounding Agiel and the King.

Jason reached out to touch the shield in front of him, and a system notification immediately echoed through his head.

[Arcane Radar] has detected the presence of an Arcane Art.

[The Arcane Art has been identified as the [Mind Arts]]

’Another one?’

Jason was shocked to see this notification, and Jason looked towards the King inside the shield in surprise! Was the King also under the Mind Apostle’s control? That means the Mind Apostle was the one trying to form the bond with Agiel? Jason narrowed his eyes in anger, and he immediately pushed forward to enter the shield!

"NO! They are already going through the Soul Bond! No one can enter the shield now! If you try to force your way in, you could kill them both!"

The priest shouted from behind once he saw what Jason was trying to do! There was a hysterical look on the priest’s face as he tried to stop Jason, but Jason ignored him, and a subordinate quickly held the Priest back when the priest stepped forward! Jason continued to push into the shield, and the priest tried another angle!

"You are the Overlord of another domain. What gives you the right to interfere in the affairs of this world?"

The Priest knew that there was a lot of punishment for anyone caught interfering in the internal affairs of another world like this, and he wondered if that threat would be enough to make Jason stop, but Jason didn’t even care! Jason had already decided to go against the Primordial Treaty by coming to this world like this, so Jason was prepared to accept whatever punishment the council would give him. If Jason was doing this, then Jason was going all the way this time.

Jason poured his mana forward into the shield, and the moment Jason’s mana made contact, Agiel’s soul immediately recognised him and reached out to him in return! Even though Agiel was already going through the Bonding process with King Tigal, her magic still desired Jason’s bond, and it quickly reached out and opened a gap in the shield that allowed Jason to phase through and walk in. The Priest watching from behind felt his eyes widen in shock as Jason walked through the shield like it wasn’t even there! That was impossible! No one should be able to enter the Soul Shield so easily!

The priest thought Jason had been planning to break the shield, but the fact that he entered so easily meant that Agiel herself had opened her soul to let him in!

’So that means... he is the true wielder of her Soul Bond? This is the will of destiny!’

The Priests of Providence all came to the same realisation at that moment, and due to the nature of their religion, they were able to accept this new revelation as the will of the Lord of Providence! It was their god’s will that Jason would interfere and fight for this bond! The priests quickly put their hands together and fell to their knees in prayer while hoping that all things would go exactly as it was destined!

Jason had no idea about what was going on outside. But the moment Jason stepped into the Soul Shield, Jason’s soul immediately felt a connection forming with Agiel, and an intense desperation began to rise through Jason’s body at that moment! That desperation was not Jason’s emotion! Instead, it was Agiel’s own desperation reaching out to him. Agiel’s soul was pleading with him to help her, and Jason decided that he would no longer turn away from her.

Jason reached out and put his hand on top of Agiel’s own, and Jason felt his consciousness leave his body!

Jason opened his eyes in a brightly lit world, and he looked around calmly to try and understand where he was.

’Riverdale?’

Jason didn’t know how this was possible, but Jason was certain that he was standing in an exact replica of the city of Riverdale back on Earth. The buildings, skyscrapers, and cars were all present in this world, but there were no people at all! Jason couldn’t see a single soul, and it felt like Jason was looking over a ghost town rather than the bustling city he was used to. Jason looked down at his hand, and he noticed that his clothes had also changed. The black robe, shirt, and trousers were gone, and instead, Jason had on a pair of blue jeans and a black T-shirt.

Jason had no idea why his clothes had changed like this, but it didn’t take long for him to remember exactly what these clothes were!

’This is what I was wearing when I killed Gina after the Phantom attack. No, not just that. This is also what I was wearing when I first met Agiel.’

Jason realised that he was wearing the same outfit he had on when he first met Agiel at the SMD building in Riverdale! But it wasn’t just his outfit! Everything in the city looked the same as it did that day. It was as if someone had taken that moment and frozen it in time!
