Girai and her friend venture deeper into the forbidden forest against their master's orders, only to be attacked by a monstrous beast. Jason intervenes, saving them with the help of his phoenix soul beast. He attempts to send them back, but is interrupted when he senses an urgent report from the main city: someone claiming to be his father's child has arrived.

’My King, we just received a report that someone arrived in the city looking for you. From what we’ve gathered, the person claims to be a child of your father.’

Jason’s brow furrowed in shock once he heard this, and he immediately used [Eye of the King] to search for who the person was. Jason’s vision switched to one of the phantoms in the city, and Jason saw that there were actually two people who had arrived – a man and a woman. But the man was currently unconscious, and the woman was carrying him on her shoulder like a sack of rice. The woman had a powerful aura around her, and even though she was surrounded by multiple cultivators, she was still glaring at all of them while demanding to speak to Jason. Jason quickly deactivated the [Eye of the King] and gave an order to the subordinates around him.

’Azrael, get the children back to the western side and make sure they stay there. The rest of you keep fighting. I need to check something out.’

’Yes, My King!’

Once Jason received a response, he activated [King’s Substitute] and vanished from the forest! Girai and her friend were shocked to see Jason vanish like that, and they began to wonder what cultivation technique he had used to move so quickly! There were no cultivation techniques that would allow someone to teleport, and at best, they should be able to move extremely quickly, so the children thought that Jason had just moved too quickly for them to follow him with their eyes!

But since Jason had been looking in the direction of the main city, Girai knew that was where Jason had gone!

"We should follow him."

Girai turned and whispered to her friend, but she froze as a shadow suddenly fell over them! Girai looked up to see a massive skeletal man standing in front of her, and Girai swallowed in fear while stepping back. Girai’s friend nearly pissed himself from fear since he thought that the skeletal man was there to attack them. But Azrael didn’t even touch them; instead, Azrael just raised his hand and pointed a bony finger towards the western part of the forest, and Girai immediately understood that he was telling them to leave.

’This is one of Jason’s servants? It’s so much stronger than me that I can’t even tell how powerful it is! If it’s this powerful, then just how strong is Jason?’

Girai felt a tug on her trousers as her friend pleaded with her for them to listen and start moving away! The boy was absolutely terrified, and he just wanted to go back home! And once Girai saw the look on his face, she finally decided that she had put her friend through too much already! Girai turned to leave with her friend, and she made up her mind that she would confront Jason another time!

.....

Jason appeared in the middle of a large park in the main city, and he looked towards the crowd that was already starting to form in the distance. Jason walked forward calmly, and as he approached, he could hear multiple voices arguing.

"Come with us to the elders! You are a visitor in this world, and you have no right to make any demands!"

A soldier shouted angrily, and a calm, feminine voice responded in a deadly tone.

"I am not moving from here until you bring me Jason Marc. Tell him that we share the same father, and I need his help saving our brother’s life."

"If someone is injured, then we will help him! Just come with us!"

"No. I don’t trust you."

Jason almost scoffed in amusement when he heard this, and as he approached the crowd, the people standing around immediately recognized who he was and began moving out of the way to make space for him!

"It’s Jason."

"Isn’t that Esdath’s student? The one that awakened a Soul Beast?"

"He looks really young."

"Do you think he knows that woman? She said they share the same father, right?"

Jason walked past the murmuring crowd, and he finally got to the center to see his half-sister surrounded by more than ten cultivators who were all pointing their swords at her! The woman was looking around with a dangerous gaze, but the moment she turned to him and their eyes met, there was a flash of recognition that passed between them, and they both seemed to realise at the same time that they shared the same blood! Jason smiled once he saw the familiar face and felt the magic essence that was unique to their family! This was definitely his sister!

Jason put his hand on the shoulder of the cultivator guard beside him, and Jason told the guards to stand down. The guards looked at each other for a moment as they wondered if that was alright. Jason was a newcomer here as well, so he couldn’t really tell the guards what to do. But the guards trusted Jason enough to listen to him, and so they finally put their swords away! Jason entered the circle to approach his sister, and as he got closer, he looked towards the man on his sister’s shoulder and asked.

"What happened to him?"

For a moment, Valeria couldn’t answer Jason at all! Valeria simply stood there with a stunned expression on her face as she stared at the man who was a perfect replica of her father! Valeria had heard rumors about Jason’s appearance being similar to Richard’s, but since she had never seen Jason before, she thought that those rumors were just exaggerated! There was no way Jason could look more like father than Gregory does! But now that Valeria was standing in front of Jason, Valeria realised that those rumors weren’t exaggerated at all! In fact, the rumors didn’t do enough justice to Jason’s appearance at all!

’I already thought Gregory was similar to father, but it feels like I’m standing in front of the real thing.’

"Hey, are you alright?"

Jason suddenly spoke up with a worried expression when he saw how Valeria was just staring at him, and Valeria jolted slightly as she was forced out of her thoughts! Valeria’s face tightened into a frown, and she nodded silently before pointing to Harold’s body.

"I need your help with him. He’s poisoned."

Jason looked at Harold, and even though he couldn’t see Harold’s face, Jason immediately knew that Harold was also one of their siblings from the magic essence flowing off him. Jason nodded, and he held his hand out for Valeria to take it.

"I’ll take us somewhere more private."

Valeria looked at Jason’s hand distrustfully for a moment. As someone who had lived most of her life as either a mercenary or a solo traveller, Valeria was not used to making physical contact with people, especially people that she had just met!

But for some reason, Valeria had a feeling that she could trust Jason. Maybe it was the similarity between him and their father. Or maybe it was the fact that he was willing to help them even though he had never met either her or Harold before, but Valeria just felt like Jason was someone she could depend on. Valeria reached out slowly and took Jason’s hand, and Jason gave a nod to the cultivator guards around before he sank into the ground and vanished.
