"You'll be able to employ the Magic Circle Cultivation Methods of the Mage Tower even better in your current state. Now you are a blank slate that can grow into something even greater than you once were," Alice said with clear excitement. "Your foundation can be remade anew and much stronger. Perhaps this time we could even incorporate your divinity into your magic circle formation. That would allow you to generate divine power far more easily."
"Yeah!" I nodded eagerly. "I didn't think of that..." I rubbed my chin thoughtfully. "Thank you, Alice, for being here for me through everything. Ah, right. My Spiritual Heart broke too?"
Alice nodded gently while still holding me in her hands. "It merged with your physique and psyche, which have now become one. Ultimately, they formed something called a Spirit Body. It is a perfect combination of Psyche, Physique, Spiritual Heart, and Magic Circle. It is still weak right now, so you will have to nurture and cultivate it carefully. Do not worry. We will do it together."
"At least my stats are fine?" I asked hopefully.
"Yeah, they are okay. We can also create more living stats," she replied. "I have also been thinking... maybe placing a system seed in your Level could do something special with it?"
"Excellent idea!" I nodded quickly. "Is it possible now?"
"Yes! Your Divinity of the System has allowed you to break many limits that we faced before," she explained. "So we might be able to spiritualize the entire concept of Leveling and turn it into a Spirit or something that can help you level up more efficiently."
"N-Nice! If that's possible... I could finally level up again!" I said happily. "Ugh, so..."
I turned my gaze toward the vast Soul Sea around us. Small jellyfish-like lifeforms swam gracefully beneath us, slowly rising toward the sky and absorbing the abundant light that filled everything.
As they ascended, they began to blossom like beautiful flowers, their forms unfolding into delicate lotus petals. The wind then carried them higher, drifting peacefully into the sea of clouds above.
"Wow..."
I muttered softly, completely awed by the breathtaking scenery of this mysterious realm.
"Is this where that god of reincarnation lives?" I asked.
"...I am not sure," Alice replied. "I think he is not even in this region. He might be incredibly far away, and I am not talking about a normal traversable distance. I mean light years. The Soul Plane is bigger than entire universes. Some regions here could be larger than clusters of countless galaxies."
"Eh? Then how do they even move around?"
"Just very fast, I suppose. As fast as they possibly can. But... there might be ways to teleport between places. We will have to find out later. After all, this is not the Physical Plane. Distance here may seem overwhelming, but with the right technique, it might become completely meaningless."
"Huh, really fascinating stuff."
I admired the colorful Soul Sea calmly for a while longer and soon felt that I had fully recovered my strength.
Before waking up, I asked Alice one final question.
"Alice, what did you mean earlier about gathering my Consciousness?"
"Ah."
Alice fell silent for a moment as we continued admiring the vibrant sea. Then she responded softly.
"After you were saved, your mind fragmented into many pieces and spread throughout the world..." She sighed. "I recollected all your pieces by channeling our connection to the Soul Plane. I have finally managed to gather your Consciousness back together here."
"So that's... that's what happened..."
I had felt that strange sensation before, like I was melting away and spreading my own consciousness everywhere. So that was the reason.
"It is related to the Divinity of the System?" I asked.
Alice nodded.
"Most likely..."
I nodded back and let out a quiet sigh.
After taking a deep breath, I looked at her again.
"Do you think we can benefit from this place in any way?"
"I believe you can return here whenever you fall asleep. As for what we can do here... I have no clear idea yet. We will have to investigate this place together."
"That sounds fine to me."
After our long conversation, I felt my body slowly beginning to fade away, as if my time in the Soul Plane had run its course. I closed my eyes gently and awakened once more.
Bright, warm sunlight bathed my face. I found myself resting comfortably on my bed at Master Felicia's place. The gentle rays streaming through the window had woken me up.
Alice had mentioned she spent some time gathering my scattered pieces, so I had probably been unconscious for quite a while. I forgot to ask her exactly how long.
"Ugh..."
But my body... why did it feel so different?
It felt noticeably lighter and cooler. As I stirred awake, the warm sunlight helped ease the strange sensation.
Still, something felt very off.
"Huh?"
Once I sat up on the bed and rubbed my eyes clear, I realized my hands were much smaller. My entire body felt smaller too.
"W-What's... What is this?"
I looked down at my feet and saw they were also smaller.
"E-Eh?"
I jumped out of bed and rushed to the window.
"Eeeeh?!"
What I saw left me stunned.
I had become even smaller than before.
"What the hell is this?!"
Shock washed over me. I had been so proud of reaching almost 1.45 meters, yet now I seemed to have shrunk to around 1.33 meters or even less.
Not only that, I looked much cuter overall. My breasts remained as large as before, which made them stand out even more prominently on this smaller frame. My face appeared prettier somehow, with big, soft, adorable cheeks. My body had taken on a charming potato-like shape.
My previous musculature had mostly disappeared, though I could still sense my old strength lingering inside, albeit somewhat reduced because of this new form. My arms were now chubby and cute, my thighs thick and soft, and my butt remained very large and unchanged.
My elven ears had grown three times longer, incredibly pointy and endearing. My hair was still red, but the tips had turned a bright blonde. My eyes now shone with a beautiful blend of orange and green.
"Why am I- Ah."
Then, slowly, they unfurled behind me.
My wings.
They were not the dragon wings I had created through skills or abilities before.
No.
"W-Woah..."
They were translucent, shimmering with bright red, gold, and green hues. Each wing stretched around twice my current size, flapping gently as they spread open. Blood flowed through their delicate veins, gradually bringing them to full, glorious life.
They were breathtakingly beautiful, sparkling with ethereal light.
"I-I'm a fairy..."
The realization hit me fully, and my heart sank with a strange mix of emotions.
It all made sense now. Just like a caterpillar shedding its old body, my previous form had been cast aside, and a completely new one had been born.
Eugh.
I had been reborn as a butterfly... or more accurately, as a fairy!!!
