Misa is recruited by an Italian woman to be a new agent after the last one tried to leak information. While contemplating this new role Misa experiences an intense physical reaction and follows a familiar scent to an alley, where she is abducted by a woman impersonating Ren. Meanwhile, Ren is trying to track Anna within a dark facility and is attacked by a monstrous creature, which he defeats.

At the long table in the packed conference room, Judith remained seated. Flashing cameras and reporters leaning forward with microphones ready filled the space. However, Judith paid no mind to the scene, her gaze fixed ahead into the void, her thoughts a world away from the barrage of questions.

"Miss Judith, could you please explain the peculiar incident last night?" a reporter called out. "Those red and golden lights that illuminated the entire sky. What was that?"

Another reporter immediately interjected. "And what about the buildings that spontaneously combusted? Was it an accident, or something more sinister? The public demands answers!"

More voices joined the clamor. "Is the government concealing information?" "Are we facing imminent danger?" "Miss Judith, please acknowledge us!"

The inquiries continued to rain down like a tempest. Judith remained impassive, not a flicker of her eyes, not a movement of her lips.

Beside her sat her secretary, Mia, who noticed Judith's vacant expression. Mia cleared her throat pointedly. "Ahem!"

Judith startled slightly and turned her head, her eyes meeting Mia's.

Leaning in, Mia whispered, "Madame, you seem exceptionally preoccupied today. The media is waiting. Perhaps we should conclude this press conference?"

Judith rubbed her eyes and nodded slowly. "You are correct, Mia. I cannot concentrate like this." She rose from her seat, facing the assembled press. "Everyone, thank you for your attendance. We will provide further details shortly. This meeting is now adjourned."

Despite the reporters erupting with more questions, Judith paid them no heed, departing the room with swift strides. Mia followed closely in her wake.

In the stillness of the hallway, Judith's pace slackened. She turned to Mia, inquiring, "Mia, have you discovered any information regarding Silver? Any news whatsoever?"

Mia shook her head, her expression etched with worry. "We are still actively searching for her, madame. Our team has vetted every contact and canvassed every street. There has been no trace. She has simply vanished."

Judith fell silent for a few moments, then murmured under her breath, "I need to arrange a meeting with the Commissioner. Please set it up as soon as possible."

"Certainly, madame," Mia replied. "I will contact his office immediately."

They continued towards the exit. Judith pushed open the grand glass doors, stepping out into the brilliant sunlight. Her black vehicle was waiting at the curb, the chauffeur standing beside it. Two guards in somber suits maintained a close proximity.

Judith entered the rear passenger seat, cradling her head with both hands. Her driver, Sarah, turned and inquired politely, "Where shall we proceed, madame? To the office? Or perhaps home?"

Judith gazed out the window, her eyes unfocused. "Take me anywhere, Sarah. It truly doesn't matter to me."

Sarah appeared puzzled but complied with a nod. "As you wish, madame." She started the engine and guided the car into the flow of heavy traffic.

The vehicle navigated the city streets with practiced ease. Judith continued to hold her head, her gaze sweeping over the buildings and pedestrians outside. Within her mind, a vortex of questions swirled. What is this sensation? Why do I feel implicated in something momentous? Something vast and unseen, exerting a pull on me. Why this feeling?

Sarah risked a glance in the rearview mirror. "Madame, are you feeling unwell? You appear rather pale."

Judith paused before responding, whispering to herself, "This feeling... it persists. A longing for something undefined, something unknown."

The car journeyed onward for several minutes. Judith persisted in her quiet soliloquy. "Am I perhaps succumbing to madness?"

Abruptly, the car lurched to a halt, Sarah slamming on the brakes. Her face drained of color. "Madame! Look ahead!"

Judith's head snapped up. "What is it, Sarah? Why have we stopped?"

Her eyes widened as she peered through the windshield. A formation of unusual women advanced towards the car, their movements eerily languid, almost spectral. Perched atop each of their heads was a grotesque entity.

These beings resembled a horrifying fusion of spider and crab, their elongated appendages entwined around the women's skulls. Crimson eyes blazed, and the creatures seemed to throb, as if actively feeding.

"What the hell!" Judith exclaimed, fumbling for her phone. "Call for assistance! Immediately!"

Her two accompanying guards, who had been following in a separate vehicle, emerged hastily. They charged forward, their special abilities now active. "Stay back!" one guard commanded. "What are these abominations?"

The second guard discharged two shots into the air. "We are uncertain, madame! They materialized unexpectedly from that alley!"

Mia also alighted from the car, positioning herself beside Judith. "Madame, retreat into the vehicle! This is perilous!"

Suddenly, one of the arachnid-crab monstrosities lunged. Its spindly legs shot out like tendrils, ensnaring Mia's head before anyone could react. Mia's scream pierced the air. "Help me! It's crushing my head! Get it off me!"

Judith watched, aghast, as Mia thrashed violently. After a few seconds of struggling, her body turned unnervingly still. The crab-like monstrosity burrowed deeper into her skull. Mia then stood upright, her eyes now vacant and glowing red, a disturbingly familiar, creepy smile gracing her lips, just like the other women.

"Mia?" Judith whispered, her voice trembling.

The transformed Mia slowly pivoted towards Judith, advancing with deliberate, unhurried steps.

Judith pressed herself against the car door, backing away. "What in the blazes is going on?!"

The guards unleashed their abilities, one launching explosive arrows while another moved with supersonic speed, slicing at the creatures. However, these attacks proved futile against the encroaching horrors. More women, now resembling crabs, emerged from the deepening shadows, encircling the vehicle. One creature’s grasping legs reached through the open window, brushing against Judith’s hair.

Suddenly, a powerful *whoosh* pierced the air. A colossal greatsword descended, striking the crab-woman that was Mia with immense force. The impact sent the creature hurtling backward into a wall. Its crab-like legs twitched once before going lifeless.

Judith whipped her head around. Two figures emerged from a side street, approaching her. One casually shouldered the enormous sword, as if it were weightless, while the other walked beside her, a serene smile on her face.

It was Nina. Wiping the blade on her coat, she remarked, "We’ve got a bit of a situation on our hands."

Kyouka joined them, crossing her arms. "Nina's right. These abominations are popping up everywhere. We encountered three separate groups on our way here."

Judith stared at them, her jaw slack. "Nina? Kyouka? How did you find me? Where did you come from?"

Nina swung the greatsword once more, cleaving another crab-woman that menaced the guards. "We have some urgent questions for you. We need to understand what’s happening, and a few details about Astrid."

Kyouka gestured towards the car. "Get inside, Judith. We'll clear a path for you. Driver, be ready to move the moment I give the word."

Sarah nodded rapidly, her hands hovering over the steering wheel, trembling slightly but prepared.

A guard cried out, "There are too many of them! We can't hold them off!"

Nina let out a short laugh. "Just watch this." She charged forward, the greatsword a blur in sweeping arcs. Two crab-women crumpled with a single swing, their limbs snapping like brittle twigs. Even in their fallen state, they continued to crawl until Nina decisively crushed their heads.

"Seems like a new crisis pops up daily. Perhaps a peaceful existence isn't in the cards for us here," Nina muttered, her gaze scanning their surroundings for any further threats.

Meanwhile, Ren remained concealed within the shadows across the street from the imposing Liberator base. The tall, gray structure exerted a magnetic pull on him, a profound sense of yearning emanating from deep within his chest.

The feeling was warm and constant. He immediately surmised that Anna must be inside. After all, who else would be seeking refuge within a Liberator base at a time like this? The building appeared tranquil from the exterior, but Ren was well aware of the truth.

It was anything but peaceful, especially after the recent assault.

He had been absent for several days. He recognized that a casual entrance was no longer an option. The rules of engagement had fundamentally shifted. This was no ordinary visit; Ren understood he was caught in a deadly game.

Women were fighting for his attention, whether he desired it or not. He couldn't possibly favor one woman and disregard the others—that would only lead to greater heartache. Thus, he lingered at a safe distance, observing the entrance.

Several minutes elapsed. Ren leaned against the cool brickwork, his gaze fixed unwaveringly on the main gate. A gentle breeze rustled through the deserted street. He murmured to himself, "Anna, you're in there. I can feel your presence. But I can't enter just yet. Not like this."

Abruptly, a familiar voice spoke from directly behind him. "What are you doing lurking around here?"

Ren spun around swiftly. It was Anna's leader, standing tall with her arms folded. Her eyes were sharp, brimming with questions. She sported the same dark uniform as always, her short hair dancing in the breeze.

She stepped closer, repeating her query. "Where have you been all this time? Why is Anna so severely injured, and why aren't you by her side? You abandoned her after everything. Explain yourself immediately."

Ren offered no response to her pointed questions. Instead, he met her gaze, his eyes conveying deep concern. His voice emerged soft and tinged with worry. "Is Anna alright? Please, tell me the truth. How grave is her condition?"

The leader woman scrutinized his face for a prolonged moment, detecting a genuine disquiet in his eyes. It wasn't feigned. She let her shoulders slump slightly, admitting in a low tone, "Yes, she's recovering. The doctors believe she'll likely walk again soon. The wounds were deep, but she's resilient. She's resting now."

Ren exhaled in palpable relief. "Thank you for telling me. I needed to hear that."

The leader nodded, though her eyes remained laced with suspicion. "Anna placed her complete trust in you. So, for the time being, I'll extend you the same courtesy. But why are you skulking around the base like a stranger? Aren't you going inside to see her? She’s been asking about you constantly, every single day."

Ren paused, scratching the back of his neck as he gazed at the ground. "She'll be meeting me soon anyway," he murmured quietly. "I don't want to put her in danger right now. It's best if I keep my distance for a little longer."

The leader raised an eyebrow, her expression a mixture of confusion and annoyance. "What do you mean by that? Put her in danger? You're speaking in riddles. If you care about her, then come inside and speak with her yourself. She deserves that much, considering all she's gone through for you."

Ren slowly shook his head, his voice remaining calm yet firm. "I'm a walking catastrophe at the moment. She needs time to recover before she sees me again. Because it's already been predetermined. She'll be fighting for me soon. And when that day arrives, everything will become significantly more perilous."

The female leader's eyes widened as she stared at him. Uncrossing her arms, she took a step forward. "What do you mean, 'fight for you'? Who decided that? Are you implying Anna is in some kind of trouble because of you? Explain this immediately. I need to understand what's going on."

Ren offered no further words. He simply turned and began walking away down the dimly lit street, his footsteps echoing faintly. His head remained bowed, hands tucked into his pockets.

The leader remained, watching his retreating figure until he was a small silhouette in the distance. Finally, she let out a sigh and muttered to herself, "What a peculiar man. He appears out of nowhere, only to inquire about Anna, and then departs without providing any answers. I truly don't comprehend him."

She turned back towards the base gate, shaking her head. "Anna, you've certainly chosen a peculiar one this time. I truly hope you realize what you're doing."
