Shota guides three companions to face a terrifying Salamander, promising it will help solve their home problems. Despite their fear, they trust him and engage the beast, initially struggling against its tough hide. Shota intervenes to draw its attention and then lets them strategize, eventually finding a way to wound the creature, which enrages the Salamander.

The flames were just too much for the three of them, so they had no choice but to back down.

But now that they were this far into the fight, it wasn’t as if they were willing to accept a loss just yet.

In fact, it seemed like the response from the Salamander had triggered their competitive spirit.

I knew that these kids had this spirit since they were young and hot blooded, not to mention that it had always been provoked when they were pushed to their limits. Which was why I was looking forward to watching the good show that was about to come.

The first one to move was Hans.

He swung his sword out in front of him, creating many different lines representing swings.

This wasn’t something that Hans was capable of doing previously, but he had slowly learned how to swing faster and faster until he was able to release multiple slashes like this.

Though a big part of it was because he had broken through his potential.

If it wasn’t for that, he certainly wouldn’t have been able to create even a single slash in the air. Though in the end, it wasn’t as if a single one of these slashes actually hit the Salamander.

The real aim of the slashes was just to clear out the flames that were around the Salamander.

Once the flames had been cleared, Lily started gathering frost in the air that was aimed at the Salamander. It seemed like she was planning on using ice spells against the Salamander, aiming to use elemental suppression.

The problem was that they had underestimated the firepower of the Salamander.

Even though Hans was swinging his sword in the air to suppress the flames, he wasn’t able to stop all of the flames that the Salamander generated. It seemed like the Salamander had truly lost its temper this time with how these three were acting.

As a Salamander, it was only natural that it had a certain amount of pride that these three were currently violating.

When Hans wasn’t able to stop all of the flames, the one that actually suffered was Lily who was focused on her spell.

"No!" Hans cried out as he tried to get in the way of the flames, but he just wasn’t able to move at all with the other flames suppressing him.

In the end, it was Annie who went forward as if she was throwing her body on the line to stop these flames.

"Woosh."

With a strong gust of wind, all of the flames suddenly disappeared before they could burn her. With her thick armour, there was no doubt that she would have been roasted by the flames if they had hit her.

"What just happened?" It wasn’t the three of them alone that were confused by what happened. Even the Salamander looked confused as it didn’t know what had just extinguished its flames.

But then they suddenly noticed that there was an extra knife that was stuck in the ground.

From the angle that it was stuck at, it had come from behind Annie.

Only if they looked in the direction that this knife came from, there was only someone sitting there that didn’t look like they had done anything. They looked like they were just watching over everything that happened.

"Keep going. Don’t worry about anything."

The three of them revealed bitter smiles hearing this, but the bitterness soon left their smiles and they became smiles filled with confidence.

It was hard for them not to be confident when there was such a strong backer behind them.

It really made them curious about how far they could push themselves against this Salamander.

There was even a part of them that wondered if they could take down this Salamander.

With this confidence, they did things that they normally didn’t do.

For example, Hans just charged right at the Salamander without care for defense. It was almost as if he wanted to let himself be burnt to a crisp by the Salamander’s flames.

However, it wasn’t as if that was the case.

What he was actually doing was pitting himself against the flames of the Salamander, swinging his sword constantly to sweep away the flames that were in front of him. He wanted to push himself to the point where he wasn’t able to swing his sword anymore.

When that happened, there was a knife that flew out and scattered the flames that were around him.

Though what he did after that was step away from the Salamander after the knife flew out.

He didn’t seem to want to rely on the power of the knife at all to handle this matter, he wanted to use his own power to break through the flames of the Salamander.

Annie on the other hand didn’t bother attacking at all as she stood right in front of the Salamander with her shield raised.

Seeing this, the Salamander saw this as a kind of insult and swung its claws at her.

But she was able to remain standing under the brunt force of those claws.

In fact, this was what she wanted to happen since she wanted to pit herself against the claws of the Salamander.

It almost seemed like she was enjoying it...but I chose to ignore that since I knew that she was trying to build up her strength and gain experience from trying to deflect the blows.

As for Lily, she was just bombarding the Salamander with spells from far away.

At this point, she was just shooting out all the spells that she could and then resting up to recover her mana.

It was as if she took this Salamander as a kind of practice target with the way that she kept shooting her spells at it.

Normally this wouldn’t work at all with the power of the Salamander.

The only reason that they were able to do this now was because from time to time, I would throw out a knife that stopped the Salamander from doing anything.
