Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation Chapter 654: Last days on the Caravan (15)
Previously on Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation...
Kyrian walked alongside Sun Luguo, silently observing the activity around them. There were cultivators of different levels, some belonging to great families, others wearing clothes that made it clear they were disciples of sects.
There were also merchants, alchemists, blacksmiths, formation masters, and independent cultivators. Everyone was heading to the same place, the square of the Sky Tower.
After some time, Kyrian finally spotted the enormous tower. It rose above the entire city, piercing through the clouds, its gigantic structure dominating the horizon. It was the residence of the Sky Family, the heart of the Heavenly Caravan.
When Kyrian arrived at the square, his steps naturally slowed, his violet eyes sweeping across the crowd that filled every corner of the area. The square was completely packed, a sea of faces and colors stretching as far as the eye could see.
Kyrian raised his head, his violet eyes traveling up the Sky Tower, climbing higher and higher. For a few seconds, he stared at the top, a thought appearing in his mind.
’Could Gao Ziyue be somewhere up there?’
He knew he probably would not have another opportunity to meet her before leaving the Caravan. Perhaps this was truly the last time they would be this close.
’Looks like I’ll really only be able to see her again in the Central Region a few years from now.’
Kyrian did not know exactly why that thought had arisen, but he accepted it without question. Perhaps it was simply reality, he would leave the next day, and after that, the distance between the Central Region and this place would be enormous.
While he was lost in these thoughts, he suddenly felt someone touch his shoulder. Kyrian immediately returned to reality and turned around. His eyes met a familiar face.
"Elder Lio Han."
He was the elder of the Alchemist Association, his imposing figure standing out against the crowd. Lio Han smiled, his eyes sweeping over Kyrian with an expression of satisfaction.
"Kyrian, I was looking for you."
Kyrian slightly furrowed his brows, surprised.
"Looking for me?"
"Yes." The elder raised a small spatial pouch, the dark fabric shining under the light of dusk.
"The pills you left with us have been completely sold."
Kyrian remained silent for a moment, processing the information. Then he realized, his last few days had been so busy that he had completely forgotten about the pills he had left to be auctioned.
"Oh." He extended his hand, his fingers wrapping around the pouch.
"Thank you."
Lio Han handed over the pouch, a smile on his lips. Kyrian briefly checked its contents, his perception penetrating the fabric to sense the energy of the spirit stones stored inside. Thousands of spirit stones were there, an extremely considerable amount.
He closed the pouch and stored it in his spatial ring.
"Thank you for bringing them."
"No need to thank me." Lio Han smiled, his hands clasped behind his back.
"You refined them. They’re yours."
Kyrian then remembered something else, his expression changing slightly.
"Ah. I also left some formation plates at the other auction."
"You did."
Kyrian thought for a moment.
"Then I’ll have to stop by there later."
"Probably." Lio Han let out a small laugh, the sound soft amid the noise of the crowd.
"You really are busy."
Kyrian did not respond, he simply remained between Lio Han and Sun Luguo, the three forming a small island amid a sea of people.
The two elders were well-known figures within the Heavenly Caravan, so some people nearby recognized them and naturally made way, allowing the three to remain in a relatively comfortable position.
Lio Han looked at Kyrian, his curiosity evident.
"Are you interested in any item from the grand auction?"
"Yes."
"Anything specific?"
"I heard about a comprehension artifact."
Lio Han was slightly surprised, his eyebrows rising.
"So you’ve already heard about it."
"Yes." Kyrian did not explain how he had found out.
Lio Han did not ask either, instead, he looked at the enormous structure assembled in front of the Sky Tower, his eyes moving across the gigantic stage that was being prepared.
"This auction will be a little different from the previous ones."
Kyrian turned his attention back to him.
"How?"
Lio Han was about to answer, but then a change occurred in the square. The ground began to vibrate, a deep tremor that seemed to come from the very depths of the Caravan.
’Boom...’ A deep sound echoed, causing people to stop their conversations. Everyone looked toward the center of the square, their eyes widening at what they saw.
A powerful energy began to emerge, a presence that made the air vibrate. Runes appeared on the ground, hundreds, then thousands. Light spread throughout the square like a wave, and slowly, an enormous platform began to rise.
’Boom!’ A gigantic circular structure emerged several meters above the ground, a stage that seemed to have been built to accommodate an auction capable of gathering countless treasures. It was much larger than any of those used in the previous competitions, its surface shining with ancient runes.
Lio Han smiled, his eyes moving across the structure.
"It’s begun."
Kyrian looked at the stage, his curiosity awakened. From all sides of the square, voices began to emerge like a chorus of speculation.
"The Heavenly Heiress is going to appear!"
"Will Gao Ziyue preside over the final auction?"
"She presided over the opening of the festival, so probably."
"Finally, we’ll see the Heavenly Heiress again."
The anticipation grew rapidly, the air seeming to become denser. Kyrian also looked at the stage, his eyes fixed on the empty structure. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then a figure appeared.
An elderly woman, her hair completely white and simply tied back, her face possessing a gentle appearance. There was no sign of ferocity in her expression, on the contrary, her appearance made her seem like nothing more than an ordinary old woman. But the more experienced cultivators in the square immediately recognized who she was.
Lio Han and Sun Luguo spoke almost at the same time, their voices filled with surprise.
"Steward of the Sky Family."
Kyrian looked at the two of them, his eyes moving across their expressions. Sun Luguo’s eyes were slightly narrowed, and Lio Han also appeared surprised.
The woman walked to the center of the stage, her steps slow but firm. The square remained extremely noisy, voices rising in confusion.
"Where’s the Heavenly Heiress?"
"Why isn’t it Gao Ziyue?"
"Wasn’t she supposed to preside over the auction?"
"Did something happen?"
"Why did they send the steward?"
