My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 1198: Theras Vs Amun
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
Theras’s eyes slowly moved away from Klaus and settled upon me. For several seconds, he simply looked at me in silence, as though comparing the person standing before him with the one he had encountered previously.
A faint smile eventually appeared on his face.
"So it was you."
His gaze swept over me and then toward Aurora before returning to me. "I must admit, I did not expect this outcome. You were barely a transcendent back then and now you emerge having gathered all seven portions of the contract, only to turn around and abolish the agreement entirely. That is considerably more troublesome than I anticipated."
There was no anger in his voice. If anything, he sounded amused.
He gave a soft chuckle before glancing toward the empty space where the contract had disappeared.
"The Eternals have truly become disappointing. To think that an entire arrangement painstakingly established between them and the Null Realm could be dismantled by someone who had only recently entered their attention. Perhaps they have grown too comfortable."
His eyes returned to me, and this time there was genuine interest within them.
"I remember you from the previous trial. Who would have thought that you would advance this far in such a short period of time? You have already reached the boundary of the Demigod Realm."
His gaze lingered on me for another moment.
"Remarkable."
I said nothing.
Theras then turned toward Klaus, and the faint amusement in his expression became something closer to contempt.
"And you."
Klaus’s expression tightened.
"How weak have you become, Klaus? You allowed a single Saint to dismantle the agreement you established, free the Prime Territory from Eternal control, and even destroy the contract before your eyes. You could not even prevent him from reaching this point."
Klaus remained silent, his golden eyes cold.
Theras shook his head.
"At this rate, you hardly deserve to negotiate with me."
His gaze shifted toward Klaus as his expression became indifferent once again.
"Still, the agreement can be established again. We will use the same conditions as before. I will not be offering you anything additional this time. Your side was the one that failed to uphold the arrangement, so if you require compensation, you will have to provide it yourself."
He casually raised one hand.
Space rippled before his palm, and golden light gathered into a familiar shape. A moment later, another ancient scroll materialized in his grasp, identical in appearance to the contract that had just been destroyed.
Theras extended it toward Klaus.
"Sign it."
The Soul Sea beneath us continued churning in silence as Klaus stared at the offered contract.
Klaus did not argue.
Without saying another word, he reached for the contract that Theras had offered and held it before him. His expression remained cold and composed, but I could sense the faint irritation beneath that calm exterior.
I looked toward Aurora as Klaus reached into his storage space and retrieved a strange black orb.
"What is that?"
Aurora’s eyes settled on the object, and her expression became slightly serious.
"That is a collection of soul signatures."
I frowned.
She continued, "When the original contract was established, the Eternals needed the soul signatures of at least eighty percent of the native inhabitants of the Prime Territory. Those signatures were obtained through the marks they placed upon the souls of the inhabitants.
The Eternals weren’t merely marking them for control. They were also preserving their signatures so that a new contract could be established if the previous one was ever destroyed."
My eyes narrowed as I looked at the orb.
"So they prepared for something like this."
"Exactly."
Klaus held the orb between two fingers. The moment his Soul Force entered it, the black surface began shrinking rapidly. The enormous orb compressed until it became nothing more than a tiny bead of concentrated Soul Force hovering before his fingertip.
He dipped his finger into it.
A faint golden glow immediately spread across his fingertip, countless tiny soul-runes swirling within the radiance.
Klaus then lowered his hand toward the contract.
"I suppose this is why they were so confident," I muttered.
Aurora gave a faint nod. Klaus’s finger touched the surface of the contract.
A golden mark began forming.
For an instant, everything proceeded exactly as expected.
Then the contract ignited.
There was no gradual burning.
No warning.
The entire scroll erupted into golden flames the moment Klaus completed his signature, and before either Demigod could react, the flames consumed the document completely. The contract crumbled into blackened fragments that scattered through the air before disappearing.
Theras stared at the empty space before him.
For the first time since his arrival, genuine surprise appeared on his face.
"What?"
Klaus’s expression changed as well. He stared at his own hand before looking toward the remains of the contract.
"What happened?"
He reached forward as though trying to determine what had gone wrong, but there was nothing left to examine.
His eyes narrowed.
"This should only be possible if..."
He suddenly stopped. Slowly, his gaze rose.
He looked directly toward Aurora.
Then toward me.
Something had clicked within his mind. Before he could say another word, the sound of clapping echoed through the Soul Sea.
Every gaze immediately turned upward.
A figure was floating high above us.
A man stood there with a relaxed smile on his face, casually applauding as though he had just witnessed an entertaining performance. His presence was impossible to ignore, yet unlike Klaus and Theras, he wasn’t radiating the slightest hint of hostility.
It was Amun.
He lowered his hands and grinned down at Theras.
"Long time no see, Theras."
His smile widened.
"How did you like my surprise?"
Theras’s expression changed the instant he heard the familiar voice. The amusement that had been present on his face disappeared, replaced by a cold and guarded look as his eyes settled upon Amun.
"What did you do, Amun?" he asked.
Amun merely smiled and waved his hand. Another ancient contract materialized beside him, its surface covered in dense golden runes that glowed faintly against the darkness of the Soul Sea.
"The Prime Territory has already signed a contract," he said casually. "And according to the rules of the Null Realm, two contracts cannot remain active over the same territory at the same time."
Klaus’s expression darkened.
"How is that possible? The Prime Territory lies within my region. I should have been informed if they were going to establish another contract."
"Oh, we did try to reach you," Amun replied patiently. "Unfortunately, you were rather busy. After you failed to respond to three summons, we had no choice but to proceed without your approval. The rules of the Null Realm are quite clear on that matter."
