Billion's consciousness returns after a nightmare, and Aurora intervenes to protect him from the Demigod Klaus. As Aurora questions Klaus about his actions, she burns the contract between him and Billion, nullifying its effects. Klaus and Aurora then engage in a battle, demonstrating their 'Authorities'—Klaus's 'Burning Revenge' and Aurora's 'Dream'—to teach Billion about the difference between Saint and Demigod powers.

I could feel the difference between what the two Demigods were doing. Their Authorities were constantly colliding, interfering with and countering one another, yet what I was witnessing was nothing like the interaction between ordinary Laws or Domains. Their powers seemed to produce absolute changes in whatever they touched, altering the very nature of reality around them.

Klaus’s Authority was particularly terrifying. His intention was simple: to burn everything. Wherever his flames passed, space itself began to erode, and even the surrounding Laws were consumed and stripped away until nothing remained except the influence of his Authority. It was as though anything touched by his flames gradually ceased to belong to the original world and became subject to Klaus alone.

Aurora was countering him through her Dream Authority. I couldn’t fully comprehend what she was doing after observing only a handful of exchanges, but I could sense that she possessed the ability to impose whatever changes she could envision through her control. Reality within her influence became malleable, capable of taking forms that should have been impossible under ordinary Laws.

Klaus’s flames suddenly gathered into a vast wave before him, and with a casual motion of his hand, he sent it surging toward us like an enormous tide of fire.

"But of course," Aurora suddenly said, almost as though she were continuing the lesson, "not all Authorities exist at the same level. Their strength depends upon your foundation, your accumulation throughout the realms before reaching the Demigod Realm, and, ultimately, the depth of your comprehension."

She raised her hand, and an equally enormous tide of water materialized before us. It collided with Klaus’s flames, and the two forces fought for a brief moment before the fire was extinguished, leaving nothing behind except a vast cloud of steam.

Aurora glanced toward Klaus.

"Klaus, why waste your time attacking me when the contract has already been abolished?"

She pointed toward the document.

The final traces of the contract disappeared before our eyes, dissolving into golden sparks before fading completely.

Klaus’s eyes hardened.

A murderous chill finally entered his voice.

"I see. So you planned this from the beginning. You deliberately allowed yourself to be captured into that confrontation so that you could keep my attention occupied."

His gaze shifted from Aurora toward me.

"So you had that much confidence in the child? You actually believed he could deal with Verilux?"

Aurora’s lips curved into a faint smile.

"Of course. I would never have taken such a risk if I didn’t believe he could."

I listened to their exchange in silence, but the more I heard, the more questions began to surface in my mind. None of this had been part of the information I possessed. While I had been fighting Verilux, dealing with the contract and desperately trying to survive the approaching deadline, there had apparently been an entirely separate game unfolding around me.

I finally turned toward Aurora. "What exactly is going on?"

Aurora glanced at me before looking back toward the place where the contract had disappeared.

"When I heard about your plan to enter the trial of the Twelfth Soul Current, I already knew that the Warden overseeing the Prime Territory would not simply allow you to proceed."

Her expression became slightly more serious.

"He has a close alliance with the Eternals. The moment they learned that you intended to enter the trial, they would have done everything within their power to stop you from reaching it. So I worked together with another Warden who is aligned with us, and we devised a way to draw both Klaus and another Warden away from the Prime Territory."

I stared at her.

"So while we were entering the trial..."

"You were being given an opportunity that you didn’t even know existed," Aurora replied. "We made certain that the two Wardens who could have interfered with you were occupied elsewhere. That was the only reason you were able to enter the trial without being stopped."

Her gaze shifted toward me again.

"And when we learned that you had successfully emerged from the trial, the situation became even more important. I knew Klaus would eventually discover what had happened, so I continued keeping him occupied. That gave you the time you needed to deal with Verilux and the contract before he could interfere."

I remained silent for several moments.

So much had happened behind the scenes while I had been completely unaware of it. I had believed that the only obstacles standing between me and my objective were the trial, Verilux, the Eternals and the contract. I hadn’t realized that even the Wardens had been moving their pieces around the board.

There was still one thing that didn’t make sense.

"How did you know that we had successfully cleared the trial?" I asked. "Macaco deliberately concealed that information. As far as I know, nobody outside the trial should have known what happened inside."

Aurora’s expression became somewhat mysterious.

"You will know about that soon enough."

Her answer only deepened my confusion.

I studied her for another moment, but she clearly had no intention of explaining further. Instead, she turned her attention back toward Klaus, who remained several steps away, his golden eyes fixed upon both of us.

"Now that the contract no longer exists, the Prime Territory should be treated no differently from any other territory within the Null Realm," Aurora said, her voice calm but carrying a quiet warning. "As a Warden, I trust you will abide by the rules of the Null Realm. From what I understand, the punishment for violating it is rather severe, even for Wardens."

Klaus remained silent.

For a moment, his expression looked almost comical, like a man who had just been personally insulted in front of an audience. His lips twitched, and a faint vein seemed to pulse at his temple before he finally regained his composure. Whatever irritation he felt, however, disappeared almost instantly, replaced by the same indifferent smile he had worn before.

"Of course," he said. "The contract is gone."

His golden eyes shifted toward the place where the document had vanished.

"But there is nothing preventing another contract from being established, is there?"

Aurora’s expression remained unchanged.

Klaus’s smile widened slightly.

"And perhaps this time, I should make the conditions somewhat stricter. After all, you destroyed an agreement that took considerable effort to establish and wasted a considerable amount of my time. Surely some form of compensation should be extracted from the inhabitants of the Prime Territory."

I hadn’t even considered such a possibility.

Until that moment, I had assumed that once the contract was destroyed, the Eternals would simply lose their control over the territories and the matter would be settled. More importantly, I had believed the Wardens would remain neutral, bound by the rules of the Null Realm rather than taking sides in the conflict.

Klaus had just shattered that assumption.

I glanced toward Aurora, wondering whether she had anticipated this possibility or already had a way to deal with it. Her expression, however, revealed nothing.

"Another contract with the Eternals?" Aurora finally scoffed. "You truly believe we will allow you to establish one again? The previous agreement was created without our knowledge. This time, you won’t have the same opportunity."

"Oh?"

Klaus’s smile disappeared.

"Is that so?"

His voice was still quiet, but the atmosphere around us suddenly changed.

"Then tell me," he said, his golden eyes narrowing slightly, "how exactly are you going to stop him?"

The final word had barely left his mouth when an immense presence suddenly descended from above.

The Soul Sea beneath us churned violently.

Enormous waves rose into the darkness as the entire dimension seemed to tremble beneath the pressure of the newcomer.

I instinctively looked upward.

A figure was already floating high above us.

Long robes drifted around his body as he stood silently in the void, his presence carrying an oppressive majesty that immediately made my expression turn cold.

Theras.
