Valeria unleashed a devastating attack that shattered the gods' impenetrable barrier and annihilated many of them. Yuan and his companions then proceeded to slaughter the remaining gods with ease. As some gods attempted to flee, Yuan effortlessly pursued and defeated them. Just as Yuan was about to deliver the final blow, the King of the Gods, clad in golden armor, intervened. Yuan easily repelled the King, who was then tended to by a woman. Yuan recognized him as the King of the Gods and questioned the absence of other high-ranking deities.

"Presumptuous!! Have you not realized who is standing before you?" The woman glared sharply at Yuan, fury blazing in her eyes.

Yuan could instantly feel the pressure the woman was exuding, and he realized that she was also a high-ranking god.

She was far more powerful than any of the gods that he and his group had slaughtered until now.

"He may be a king to you, but in my eyes, he is nothing more than an eyesore," Yuan replied with a smirk, maintaining his calm composure.

"The audacity!! Shall I rip that mouth apart for showing such disrespect toward His Highness? You deserve a thousand deaths for this insolence!" She burst into rage, her eyes glowing dangerously as she stared at Yuan.

"Tell me, mortal, what kind of magic did you use on my dear servant Selvariel? What made her turn against her master—against me?" she asked as golden mana enveloped her body, causing the air around her to tremble.

"Heh? Magic?" Yuan chuckled at the notion before saying, "I do not use such lowly tricks like you lot. As for turning against you... let’s just say she received some enlightenment about reality."

"The truth that you have been hiding from the rest of the world all this time, committing countless atrocities in the name of justice."

Both the God King and the Goddess of Light and Justice were stunned by the revelation, their expressions turning grim.

"Goddess of Light and Justice... What a magnificent title, yet all you do is spread evil... How ironic, isn’t it?" Yuan smiled, openly mocking the two gods.

"So what if you know the truth? In the end, you’re still going to die by my hand today," the Goddess of Light said with a dangerous grin.

The sky quickly turned dark as ominous clouds covered the sun. Golden lightning flashed through the dark clouds, threatening to destroy everything below.

’As expected of someone at the pinnacle of magic... She is quite strong,’ Yuan thought inwardly, feeling a chill run down his spine.

However, he wasn’t afraid at all. In fact, he was excited to face such a powerful opponent.

After all, such an opportunity didn’t come very often.

"Now prepare yourself to face my Divine Judgment, mortal!" the Goddess of Light and Justice declared, her entire body wrapped in golden lightning.

However, Yuan stood there calmly without moving an inch from his position.

Zap!!

A bolt of powerful golden lightning struck Yuan, blinding everything around him with a brilliant flash as the ground beneath his feet began to melt from the extreme heat.

However, it didn’t stop there. Several more bolts of lightning rained down upon him, striking him relentlessly with overwhelming force.

’Agh! This is far more painful than I expected... It’s like hundreds of burning needles are piercing my skin!!’ Yuan cried inwardly in pain.

<Ding!>

A familiar sound suddenly resounded inside his mind, immediately drawing his attention.

<Your resistance to thunder has increased slightly!>

’Huh? I’m developing thunder resistance?’ He was surprised upon hearing the notification in his mind.

Then he suddenly realized something—the pain had become much more tolerable than before. It no longer hurt as much.

’I see... So, as long as I keep increasing my thunder resistance... thunder will eventually have no effect on me at all.’ Yuan quickly understood what was happening to his body.

He hadn’t expected that his decision to endure the Goddess of Light and Justice’s powerful lightning magic would turn out to be such a blessing.

<Your resistance to thunder has increased slightly!>

<Your resistance to thunder has increased slightly!>

...

<You have developed Low-Level Thunder Resistance!>

Now, Yuan no longer felt the slightest pain or discomfort from the lightning. However, he could still feel a faint numbness from being struck repeatedly.

’T-This is amazing! I’ve developed thunder resistance just like that... Truly a blessing in disguise.’ Yuan smiled with excitement.

He casually stepped forward, walking out of the enormous sphere of lightning with a smile on his lips.

"Is that all you’ve got? For a so-called Goddess, you’re quite the disappointment." Yuan smiled at her, blatantly mocking her.

"What?!?! H-How on earth is this possible...?!" The Goddess of Light and Justice was shocked beyond belief, completely dumbfounded.

Even the God King appeared stunned, as though he had witnessed a dead man come back to life, feeling as if the ground had vanished beneath his feet.

’H-How is this possible?! No one should be able to survive the Judgment of Thunder!!’ The God King stared at Yuan in utter disbelief.

Even the God King himself couldn’t survive this ancient magic without sustaining life-threatening injuries.

And yet, a mere mortal had emerged completely unscathed from the power of this ancient magic, something far too unreal for him to accept.

"Goddess of Light, you should step back," the God King said, warning her of the danger.

All of his wounds had already healed with the help of healing potions, but the damage to his armor was irreversible.

However, he didn’t discard his armor since it was still usable.

"B-But your wounds, Your Highness—" Before the Goddess of Light could finish speaking, the God King interrupted her.

"I’m fine. My wounds have healed completely," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder before walking past her.

"I thank you for buying me some time. You’ve done a great job keeping him occupied."

"Now then, mortal." The God King focused all his attention on Yuan with a dangerous smile before saying, "Shall we finish our unfinished business?"

"Since you’re so confident, how can I refuse?" Yuan replied with a wide grin.

"Then prepare yourself." The God King’s body was immediately enveloped in golden light, and the next instant, he vanished from his spot.

’He is quite fast... for a god. This will be fun.’ Yuan thought with a smirk as he raised his sword without even looking.

Clang! Whoosh!

A powerful shockwave swept across the battlefield as Yuan effortlessly blocked the God King’s attack without even looking, as if he already knew exactly where it would land.

"Oh? You managed to block it, but will you be able to block the next one?" A surprised look appeared on the God King’s face as he was shocked to see Yuan block his attack so casually.

"No matter how many times you attack, it isn’t going to work on me. You’re simply too slow." Yuan said before launching the God King into the air with a powerful kick.

"Agh!" The God King screamed in agony as he was sent flying for the third time.

This time, a huge dent appeared in his chest plate, bending the metal inward, while cracks spread across its surface.

’Damn it! Just how strong is he actually?! Why aren’t my attacks working against him?!’ he cried inwardly, unable to believe what was happening.

The anger in the God King’s eyes intensified, turning them bloodshot from humiliation. After all, he was the King of the Gods, yet he couldn’t even land a single hit on a mere mortal.

What would happen if the world learned that the God King had been defeated by a random mortal? Wouldn’t his pristine image be completely ruined?

His years of effort would all go down the drain.

He firmly gripped the great sword with both hands as mana began to erupt from his body, making the surrounding air tremble.

The sword began to glow with a brilliant golden light, and he charged furiously at Yuan.

"Die, you insolent human! Pay for everything you have done to my people!!" the God King roared as he charged toward Yuan.

"Pay? I’m not the one who’s going to pay... It’s the opposite!" Yuan replied, a dangerous look on his face.

Just as the God King’s sword was only an arm’s length away from Yuan’s neck, Yuan met it with his own blade.

Once again, Yuan blocked the attack with ease, shocking all the onlookers, including the Goddess of Light and Justice.

"Just how the hell is he doing this?! How could a mere human toy with the King of the Gods?!?!" She swallowed nervously in disbelief.

"T-This must be a hallucination... This can’t be real... This is all fake..." she muttered, unable to process the scene unfolding before her.

"Where are the reinforcements? Why aren’t they here yet?"

The reinforcements of the high-ranking gods should have arrived by now, yet they were nowhere to be seen while their king was facing a threat capable of destroying the entire High Heaven.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her, and a chill ran down her spine, causing her to turn around immediately.

A group of women was approaching from behind. Each of them possessed an aura similar to Yuan’s, making her instantly realize who they were.

Among those women, she immediately recognized one person. It was impossible for her not to recognize her.

"Selvariel... No way, she really did switch sides with these heretics... but why??" Her eyes turned red with anger, and her lips trembled as she struggled to believe what she was seeing.

Meanwhile, Selvariel also noticed the Goddess of Light and Justice, but she ignored her completely and turned to Anna Grace.

"Mother-in-law, that’s the Goddess of Light and Justice," she whispered to Anna Grace in a low voice, feeling a little guilty.

"Oh, so she’s the Goddess of Light and Justice... the founder of the Holy Church, an organization that nearly destroyed an entire empire." A faint grin appeared on Anna Grace’s face as she looked at the Goddess of Light and Justice.

"This is the end of your tyranny. Surrender peacefully, or the consequences will be unimaginable." Anna Grace said to the Goddess with a serious look on her face.
