My Celestial Ascension Chapter 993: The King Of The God
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
"Everyone, prepare yourselves for battle!"
"The enemy is charging at us!!"
All the gods took defensive positions and deployed barriers around themselves. They smiled arrogantly at Yuan and the others as they charged toward them.
"It’s futile to attack us with this barrier in place. Your attacks won’t even leave a scratch, much less reach us," one of the gods sneered arrogantly.
"Let me take care of this. I’ll shatter their arrogance in a moment," Valeria said to Yuan with a wide grin on her face.
Yuan gave her a nod.
She stepped closer to the powerful barrier and looked at the gods with a wide grin on her face, making those behind the barrier feel quite uncomfortable under her gaze.
"You see, I recently learned a new technique, and quite a powerful one at that. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to test it."
"Since you’re so proud and arrogant of this barrier... I shall use it against your barrier." She immediately raised her sword high into the air.
Almost instantly, her cultivation erupted, and her incomplete Sword Aura burst forth, enveloping her sword.
Upon sensing the powerful aura radiating from Valeria’s body, all the gods immediately grew concerned for their safety.
"Brace yourselves, everyone!! That woman is dangerous!!" one of the gods shouted, sensing that something was terribly wrong.
"Strengthen the barrier immediately!"
The gods poured all their strength into reinforcing the barrier, making it several times stronger than before.
"Great Desolation Sword Strike..." Valeria muttered in a low voice as her sword flashed in the blink of an eye with terrifying force.
Boom!!
A massive explosion shook the battlefield as her attack collided with the barrier.
The barrier... it shattered into countless fragments upon impact, completely destroyed in the blink of an eye.
The barrier wasn’t able to withstand the attack for even a second. The force behind it was so overwhelming that it shattered instantly.
Countless gods perished alongside the barrier. Those standing at the front disappeared without leaving anything behind.
It was as if their very existence had been erased from this world.
Those who survived were left gravely injured, many missing one or even two limbs.
"W-What was that just now...? It completely shattered our barrier..."
"The others... they were annihilated by that woman with just a single attack..."
"H-How is this even possible?! We’re gods! We’re supposed to be invincible!"
The gods stared in utter disbelief, completely baffled by what had just happened.
The barrier they believed to be impenetrable had been shattered instantly, and more than a hundred of their people were annihilated in the blink of an eye.
"Don’t let them recover! Kill each and every one of them!" Yuan ordered his group before swinging his sword at the enemy.
In the blink of an eye, Yuan slaughtered everyone within his reach.
The so-called gods didn’t even realize how they had died until it was too late.
Anna Grace and the others attacked the gods who were still recovering from Valeria’s attack. They quickly overwhelmed them and began slaughtering them without mercy.
"W-What kind of battle is this...?? How can we lose to them??"
The gods were in complete disbelief as they watched Yuan and his group slaughter their kind with ease and without the slightest hint of mercy.
"T-This can’t be true... How are we powerless before a few mere mortals??"
Meanwhile, the angels who had surrendered watched the scene in horror. They couldn’t believe that the so-called mighty gods were losing to a few mere mortals.
This completely shattered their beliefs. They finally began to understand why Selvariel had urged them to surrender.
It turned out that even the gods were powerless before these people, so much so that they couldn’t withstand even a single attack.
Yuan and the others continued to slaughter the gods left and right, forcing them to realize the gravity of the situation and making them experience a despair they had never felt before.
However, this wasn’t the end. It was only the beginning, as most of the high-ranking gods had yet to make their appearance.
The angels couldn’t help but wonder whether the high-ranking gods of the High Heaven would be able to stand against Yuan and his group.
Some gods began fleeing in fear for their lives. Until now, they had lived lives of luxury without ever fearing death.
However, after witnessing countless gods perish before their eyes, their arrogance and confidence were completely shattered.
They were horrified by the scene, and the scent of fresh blood in the air filled their very souls with terror.
"Where do you think you’re going? Running away, are you?"
Suddenly, Yuan’s voice resounded in their ears like thunder.
But as soon as they turned around, he wasn’t behind them. In fact, they couldn’t see him anywhere.
"W-Where the fuck did he go...?!!"
"H-He was right behind us... and he disappeared??"
The gods abruptly halted, confused as to where Yuan had suddenly vanished.
Just as relief washed over them, believing they had successfully escaped, Yuan’s voice resounded once again from behind them.
"Where are you looking? I’m behind you."
The moment the gods heard those words, their legs went numb, and they froze in place as a chill ran down their spines.
"Did you really think you could run away and escape death? How laughable."
Yuan chuckled softly as he watched them tremble in fear.
’They’re truly cowards, and yet they dare call themselves gods... How ridiculous,’ Yuan sneered inwardly, utterly disappointed by the so-called gods.
"P-Please... spare our lives..."
"W-We will do anything... just spare our lives..."
The gods immediately dropped to their knees before Yuan and began begging for mercy.
"Spare your lives? How amusing... To think the so-called mighty gods are begging before a mere mortal..." Yuan smirked as he took a step forward.
"However, there is only one fate for my enemies—death," Yuan said as he raised his sword.
Just as he swung his sword parallel to the ground, he suddenly heard approaching footsteps, and someone leaped between him and the kneeling gods.
Bang! His sword collided with another blade, preventing it from reaching the gods.
A powerful shockwave swept across the battlefield, and Yuan raised an eyebrow as he looked at the person who had blocked his sword.
Yuan was surprised that someone had actually managed to block his attack, and a wide grin spread across his face.
The person who blocked his sword was fully clad in golden armor that gleamed beneath the sunlight, emitting a powerful wave of golden mana.
"How dare you interrupt me..." Yuan growled in a low voice. With a light push, he sent the man blocking his sword flying.
Bang! The armored man crashed into the towering city wall, causing spiderweb-like cracks to spread across it from the tremendous impact.
Yuan turned back toward the gods kneeling on the ground, then raised his sword once more.
"Stop! What do you think you’re doing?!"
Suddenly, a woman’s voice rang out from behind him, causing him to turn his head slightly toward its source.
A woman approached him with a furious expression, dressed in flowing white robes adorned with golden embroidery.
"Who are you to command me?" Yuan sneered at her before swinging his sword.
Slash!
With a sharp metallic sound, several heads rolled across the ground as fresh blood sprayed everywhere.
The woman stared in horror as Yuan mercilessly slaughtered the gods before her, completely ignoring her words.
"W-What have you done... you killed them..." the woman muttered, a look of disbelief on her face.
"So what? Who told you all to be so arrogant and come after us? This is the consequence of offending me." Yuan spoke with a dangerous look on his face, making the air around them feel heavy.
Bang! Suddenly, a sword nearly reached him, but Yuan easily blocked it with his own and looked at the man in golden armor with a frown.
"Didn’t I tell you not to disturb me?" Yuan said, his voice laced with irritation and anger.
"How dare a lowly mortal have the nerve to tell me what to do... You’ve crossed the line, mortal!" a low growl came from beneath the helmet, making Yuan grin slightly.
"A mortal, you say? Do I look like a mere mortal to you?" Yuan replied before delivering a powerful kick that sent the armored man flying once again.
"Agh!"
The armored man crashed into the city wall once more, and this time, the wall completely collapsed upon impact.
His once-golden armor was now covered in dents and cracks, and blood seeped from beneath his helmet.
’Just what the hell is that mortal?! How could he be so powerful?!’ the armored man screamed inwardly, unable to believe what had just happened.
"Your Highness!! Are you alright?!" The woman immediately rushed toward the armored man, panic written all over her face.
’Your Highness...?’ Yuan raised an eyebrow and immediately realized the identity of the armored man.
So, he’s the King of the Gods... He’s pitifully weak for a king, he thought, a faint smirk appearing on his face.
’The King has appeared, but where are the other high-ranking gods? Don’t tell me they’re hiding under their beds to save their lives...’
He then looked toward his wives and saw that they had finished their task, killing every god who had come after them.
Meanwhile, the God King managed to stand with the woman’s support, and his helmet fell to the ground, revealing his face and golden hair.
"I’m alright, but a few of my ribs are broken... That man is incredibly powerful. We have to be very careful," he said, giving the woman a stern warning.
"Don’t worry, Your Highness. The reinforcements will arrive soon, but we have to hold him off until then," the woman replied with a serious expression.
Just then, Yuan suddenly appeared before them, shocking them with his ghost-like movement.
"So, you’re the king of the so-called pathetic gods."
