My Celestial Ascension Chapter 992: Surrender
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
Every angel present at the scene was dumbfounded by Yuan’s bold words. They all believed that Yuan had gone mad and lost his mind.
"Has he gone mad or something? Does he think he is above the gods? The absolute beings of this world?"
The angels whispered among themselves with arrogant smiles on their faces, completely unaware of the gravity of their situation.
Yuan ignored their mockery, looked at Selvariel, and said, "We tried to convince them, but they didn’t listen... There is only one way to make them surrender."
"I understand." Selvariel nodded knowingly, her expression turning extremely serious.
"You can do whatever you want to make them surrender... A few deaths will be necessary to make them realize their place."
"Since you don’t mind, I won’t hold myself back." Yuan smiled at her and gently patted her shoulder.
However, the angels who heard Selvariel’s words were enraged. Their eyes burned with fury as they glared at her.
"You ungrateful bitch! How dare you betray us like this?!"
"We will never forgive this sin! Prepare to face Divine Judgment!!"
They roared at Selvariel at the top of their lungs, hurling curses at her.
"DRAG THAT UNGRATEFUL WOMAN HERE... IF SHE TRIES TO RESIST, DO NOT HESITATE TO KILL HER!!" one of the angels roared, pointing his spear at Selvariel.
"Understood!"
Several angels responded in unison before rushing toward Selvariel with wide grins on their faces.
"Stay back, Selvariel. I’ll be done in a few seconds."
Yuan stepped forward, a calm expression on his face as he faced the angels charging toward them.
"Since you’ve made your decision, now experience the consequences of your choice."
He gathered Sword Aura around his finger and used it like a sword, swinging it with a single fluid motion.
In an instant, several angels were cut down by an invisible force the moment Yuan swung his finger like a blade.
"W-What just happened??"
The angels were dumbfounded. They only saw Yuan swing his finger toward the charging angels, and the next moment, every one of them was split in half as their severed bodies crashed onto the ground.
"H-He killed them... but how??"
"I have no idea how he did it... but one thing is certain—he’s dangerous!"
"Not just dangerous... He’s far too dangerous to be left alive."
The angels tightened their grips on their weapons. They had never faced an enemy like Yuan before, and many began questioning reality itself.
"Are you going to come at me, or should I do the honors?" Yuan asked with a wide grin.
"Be careful, everyone! He’s about to attack!!" one of the angels shouted, warning the others.
Yuan raised his hand, and a massive sword suddenly appeared in his grasp, further shocking the angels. The blade was as tall as he was.
"W-What is that thing?? Can a human even wield something like that??"
"I-Impossible... No human can wield such a weapon..."
Before they could recover from their disbelief, Yuan suddenly appeared before them like a ghost, raising his massive sword high into the air.
"Watch out!!" one of the angels roared at the top of his lungs.
Unfortunately for him, it was already too late, as Yuan’s sword was already descending upon them.
"O-Oh dear God..."
Slash!
In the blink of an eye, Yuan swung his sword hundreds of times, slaughtering hundreds of angels almost instantly.
"Ahh! Save me!!!"
"I don’t want to die!!!"
The angels screamed in panic and disbelief as they scattered in every direction. Their previous arrogance was completely shattered, replaced by overwhelming despair.
Meanwhile, the King of the Gods also noticed the commotion outside his Divine Sanctuary and raised an eyebrow.
"Goddess of Light, what is the commotion outside the sanctuary?"
"I do not know, Your Majesty," the Goddess of Light replied, shaking her head softly.
"Hmm... I can smell the scent of blood—" The King of the Gods abruptly stopped mid-sentence.
The next second, the massive doors of his sanctuary were slammed open, and an angel rushed in with a distressed look on his face.
He looked more despairing than merely distressed.
Seeing this, the King of the Gods and the Goddess of Light and Justice immediately frowned.
"Your Majesty! It’s an emergency! The humans and the demons have invaded our territory!"
The angel shouted while kneeling on the pristine marble floor, bowing his head deeply.
"What did you just say?!" The King of the Gods immediately rose from his Divine Throne, followed by the Goddess of Light and Justice.
"T-The humans and the demons have invaded our territory, Your Majesty," the angel repeated, his voice still trembling.
"Furthermore, Lady Selvariel has betrayed us and is fighting alongside the invaders."
Boom! A massive surge of Mana erupted from the Goddess of Light and Justice upon hearing those words, her eyes burning with rage.
"Selvariel... H-How dare she betray me!! I’ll skin her alive and rub salt into her fresh wounds!!" she muttered, her voice low yet dangerously cold.
"Not only did she betray me, but she also joined forces with the humans and those vile demons... This is a sin that cannot be forgiven!" Her voice grew louder as her fury reached new heights.
"Goddess of Light, calm your anger. Anger does not suit your face," the King of the Gods said, his voice soft yet carrying the weight of a mountain.
"Please forgive me for showing such an unsightly side of myself." The Goddess of Light sighed softly and immediately apologized.
"It’s fine," the God King said with a deep sigh. "I understand how you feel... I know the pain of being betrayed by someone close to you."
"I wonder what the reason behind her betrayal is... Knowing her, she isn’t someone who would sell her loyalty to another."
"Please excuse me, Your Majesty, but I’d like to go and personally ask her why she betrayed me." The Goddess of Light and Justice said, no longer able to suppress her emotions.
She wanted answers. Answers that only Selvariel could give her.
She wanted to know why Selvariel had betrayed her. After all, she had given her everything—fame and power.
Without saying another word to the God King, she left the sanctuary with heavy steps, feeling as though someone had driven a dagger into her heart.
Once she left, the God King turned toward the angels in the hall with a dangerous look on his face.
"Prepare my armor and sword... I’m going to destroy that lowly human who is bold enough to bring chaos to my sanctuary," he said, his voice turning icy toward the end.
Meanwhile, outside the city, the ground was stained red with the blood of angels, and their corpses lay scattered everywhere.
"W-What kind of monster are you...?" one of the angels asked, her face pale and her eyes filled with despair.
"Now, are you lot going to surrender, or do I need to shed more blood... more carnage?" Yuan asked, ignoring the angel’s question.
"W-We surrender... No more bloodshed, I beg of you." The angel dropped her weapon and knelt on the ground.
Selvariel looked at the corpses of her people and sighed, her fists clenched tightly as she failed to persuade them to surrender.
’I’ve never thought that I’d personally witness the deaths of my people... If only I were a bit stronger...’ she thought, overwhelmed with remorse over their deaths.
Just then, she narrowed her eyes, sensing many powerful presences approaching from the city.
"Yuan, the gods are coming. What should we do?" she asked, a concerned look on her face.
"Let them come. I’ll slaughter each and every one of them and reclaim this floating island," Yuan replied with a calm smile.
He then stepped closer to her and asked, "But are you feeling alright? I know it hurts, but we don’t have any other choice."
"It’s fine. At least they surrendered, and that’s what matters," she replied, but she couldn’t hide the pain in her eyes from him.
’She definitely isn’t alright... It’s all because of the gods... their so-called arrogance,’ he thought inwardly.
Shortly afterward, hundreds of high-ranking and low-ranking gods arrived at the scene and were immediately baffled by the sight before them.
"W-What in the world happened here...??"
"And why are the angels kneeling before the humans and demons like that??"
"Did they lose their minds after witnessing the deaths of their own kind? Utterly useless!"
The gods showed no remorse for the angels’ deaths. Instead, their faces were filled with disdain and anger.
"You there, lowly human... Is this your doing?!" one of the gods shouted at Yuan with an arrogant look on his face.
Yuan remained calm despite the overwhelming pressure and took a step forward.
"So what? Are you going to bark at me now??" Yuan replied, deliberately provoking them.
"YOU FILTHY BASTARD!! YOU’RE GOING TO DIE!!" one of the gods roared at Yuan at the top of his lungs, feeling humiliated and disrespected.
Yuan’s expression immediately turned cold, his patience already at its limit after witnessing their arrogance.
Without saying a word, he tightened his grip on his sword, and his aura exploded, making the entire atmosphere heavy and suffocatingly cold.
"Everyone, get ready," he said to his group with a wide grin on his face.
"The carnage has begun."
Everyone nodded with smiles, drew their weapons, and immediately charged at the so-called gods.
"This is going to be fun," Valeria muttered as she charged at the so-called gods, a wide grin spreading across her face.
