My Celestial Ascension Chapter 1050: The Old Album
Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
"A mysterious woman? But why can’t I remember anything about her?" Yuan muttered, a puzzled expression crossing his face.
Sister Mary’s eyes widened as she stared at him in disbelief.
"How could you forget her? You were right here when that woman came to take Lulu away!" she exclaimed.
"Nope. That doesn’t ring any bells..." Yuan shook his head, unable to recall anyone other than Lulu from that time.
Hearing his response, Sister Mary stared at him incredulously. How could he possibly forget someone who had played such an important role in Lulu’s life?
Anna Grace and the others also exchanged puzzled glances. Yuan had an exceptionally good memory, so it was strange that he couldn’t remember something so significant.
’Could that woman have used some kind of memory manipulation technique to erase Yuan’s memories of her?’ Long Yuyan wondered suspiciously, though she kept her thoughts to herself.
"This is really strange... Who exactly was that woman who took Lulu away? And why can’t I remember her at all?" Yuan muttered, growing increasingly puzzled by everything surrounding Lulu’s disappearance.
’Where are you now, Lulu? I miss you so much...’ he thought wistfully, wondering where his childhood sweetheart might be.
"Do you have any information about the woman who adopted Lulu?" Lily asked Sister Mary, a hint of frustration in her voice.
"I’ll have to check the register," Sister Mary replied after thinking for a few moments. "Let me bring the records from that year."
With that, she left the dining hall and headed to her office.
A short while later, she returned with a register in her hands.
After placing it on the dining table, she began flipping through the pages until she found the entry she was looking for.
"Here it is!" she announced excitedly, pointing at the page.
"The woman who adopted Lulu was named Xue Ling. Her origins were unknown, and the only location recorded here is Tianbing City in the Eastern Region," Sister Mary explained.
She then turned toward Yuan and added, "There’s no specific address listed. If you want to find Lulu, you’ll have to travel to the Eastern Region and search for her there."
"The Eastern Region... She’s on another continent. No wonder I couldn’t find anything about her..." Yuan muttered, quietly processing the new information.
Sister Mary let out a soft sigh.
"Your best option is to go to Tianbing City in the Eastern Region. If you can find out where Xue Ling is, you should be able to find Lulu as well."
"You’re right. I’ll have to go to the Eastern Region to find her..." Yuan replied with a sigh and a determined nod.
After learning where Lulu might be, Yuan and his wives spent the next few hours playing with the children at the orphanage.
The children were delighted to have so many visitors to play with, especially Leah, Julie, and Ava, who quickly became popular among the little ones. The three of them got along wonderfully with the children, filling the orphanage with laughter and cheerful voices.
"The children rarely get visitors these days. Those corporate giants keep threatening to drive us off this land, and people have gradually stopped coming here. They’re having such a wonderful time with all of you," Sister Mary remarked with a warm smile as she approached the group.
"It must be difficult for you to take care of all these children by yourself," Anna Grace said, watching the children play with an affectionate smile.
"It certainly isn’t easy, but I’ve grown accustomed to it. Raising twenty-five children alone while relying entirely on donations is no simple task," Sister Mary admitted.
"I can imagine," Anna Grace replied with a sympathetic nod.
Suddenly, Sister Mary’s eyes lit up as though she had just remembered something wonderful.
"Would you like to see some pictures of Yuan when he was little? I have an entire album filled with photographs of him as a child!" she asked excitedly, barely able to contain her enthusiasm.
"Photos of Yuan? I’d love to see how he spent his childhood at the orphanage!" Anna Grace replied excitedly, nodding.
"Wait here. I’ll go and get the album," Sister Mary said before heading inside.
A few moments later, she returned with an old photo album containing pictures of Yuan from his childhood.
"This is a picture of him shortly after he arrived at the orphanage. I took it ten days after someone left him at our doorstep," Sister Mary explained, showing the first photograph to Anna Grace.
"He looks exactly as he did when he was born in my world," Anna Grace remarked with a fond smile, gazing at the photograph.
Sister Mary then showed her several more pictures, documenting Yuan’s childhood and the happy moments he had shared with the other children.
As Anna Grace flipped through the photographs, one particular picture caught her attention. It showed a cute little girl clinging tightly to Yuan, hugging him as though she never wanted to let go.
"This girl..." Anna Grace murmured, narrowing her eyes slightly as she immediately guessed the little girl’s identity.
"That’s Lulu. She was always incredibly clingy with Yuan. Honestly, she practically refused to leave his side!" Sister Mary explained with a nostalgic smile.
’She sounds dangerous...’ Anna Grace thought inwardly, feeling a little threatened by the existence of Yuan’s childhood sweetheart.
Sister Mary continued showing her the photographs, sharing the stories and memories behind each one. Before Anna Grace knew it, she had gone through the entire album.
"Thank you for showing these to me, Sister Mary. I finally got to see how my darling spent his childhood as an orphan," Anna Grace said gratefully, appreciating the opportunity to learn more about Yuan’s past.
"There’s no need to thank me. You’re his mother, after all. Of course, you deserve to see these precious memories from his childhood," Sister Mary replied with a warm smile.
Just then, Yuan walked over and noticed the photo album in Sister Mary’s hands. The moment he realized what they had been looking at, his face flushed slightly red.
"Sister Mary, couldn’t you have kept that album locked away somewhere? Why did you have to bring it out? It’s embarrassing!" Yuan complained, his cheeks turning crimson.
"Why would you want to hide it, darling? You look adorable in those little red underwear!" Anna Grace teased him with a mischievous grin.
"Mom! Don’t ever mention that again! It’s embarrassing!" Yuan shouted, his face turning even redder.
’Thank goodness the others haven’t seen those pictures. Otherwise, they’d never let me live it down,’ Yuan thought, breathing a sigh of relief that only his mother had seen his most embarrassing childhood photographs.
"What are you all talking about? And what’s that?"
Suddenly, Yuan heard Lily’s curious voice from behind him.
His expression froze instantly, as though he had just encountered a ghost.
"N-Nothing! It’s nothing important. Just some useless documents from the orphanage. There’s nothing interesting about them," Yuan replied awkwardly, swallowing nervously.
Unfortunately for him, Lily wasn’t alone. All his wives had gathered behind him, and every one of them was looking at him suspiciously.
"Hmm? Then why do I get the feeling you’re trying to hide something from us?" Julie asked, raising an eyebrow.
"What?! Why would I hide anything from you? You’re all my wives! There’s no way I’d keep secrets from you!" Yuan protested with an awkward smile, desperately hoping they would lose interest in the album.
"That’s a photo album containing pictures of Yuan as a child," Anna Grace revealed with a sly smile.
"Pictures of Yuan?! Now I’m even more interested!" Lily exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she hurried over to Sister Mary.
"Me too! I want to see what Yuan looked like when he was little!" Rose chimed in, eagerly joining Lily beside the album.
Yuan could only watch in despair as his worst fears began to come true.
"..."
Yuan stared at his mother in disbelief. He couldn’t believe she’d actually revealed the contents of the album to everyone.
’It’s over... I’m finished! Now everyone is going to see those embarrassing moments from my childhood...’
Yuan cried inwardly as he watched his wives gather around Sister Mary, who opened the album and began showing them the photographs.
A few moments later, his wives finished looking through the entire album. They turned toward Yuan, mysterious smiles spreading across their faces.
"That red underwear looked really good on you," Emma remarked with a soft chuckle.
"Absolutely! I’d say that’s the most iconic photograph in the entire album." Valeria laughed, nodding in agreement with Emma.
"I couldn’t agree more." Mireya nodded, smiling from ear to ear.
Yuan could only sigh helplessly as his wives continued teasing him, thoroughly enjoying his embarrassment.
A little while later, Yuan finally escaped their teasing and approached Sister Mary. He gently led her somewhere more private, away from the others.
"Why have you brought me here, Yuan?" Sister Mary asked, looking puzzled.
"You mentioned that the orphanage is running low on funds. Give me your bank account number, and I’ll transfer some money to you." Yuan pulled his phone from his pocket.
"What?! There’s no need for that! I can manage somehow. You should focus on taking care of your own family." She immediately refused, clearly concerned that supporting the orphanage might put a burden on Yuan’s future.
"No. You have to accept it." Yuan shook his head firmly. "I’m not short on money. Besides, I brought a considerable amount of gold and jewelry back with me from the other world."
He paused before continuing, "I can still earn hundreds of millions by selling some of them. But you need money, and more importantly, the children need it."
After hearing his words, Sister Mary stared at him for a long moment. She seemed torn between her pride and her responsibility toward the children under her care.
Eventually, she let out a quiet sigh and nodded.
"Fine. I’ll give you my account number..."
