Rygar meets with Hitogami, who desperately tries to negotiate for his survival by attempting to sow discord between Rygar and Orsted. Rygar rejects Hitogami's pleas and threats, ultimately reaffirming his intention to eliminate him.

The days after the arrival of the Beast God’s half-brother passed quickly. In truth, the news was not that important to most people.

Of course, among those directly involved, there was a certain curiosity. Some people went to meet Aaron, or rather, Razhar, as Selene had confirmed to be his birth name.

Ruby also appeared, since technically he was her half-brother as well. Hontar, despite not being his father, was introduced to him as Selene’s husband, which made the situation a little strange, but not exactly bad.

Even so, for most of the Kingdom of Gaia, it did not have much relevance.

A lost relative of the Beast God could be curious, but it did not change anyone’s daily life. And, above all, there was another event that excited the people far more.

Aisha Greyrat, the Divine Sorceress, married Rygar Adoldia, the Beast God, officially becoming his fourth wife.

That news was important not only in the Kingdom of Gaia, but throughout the entire world. After all, it meant that the two most powerful people in the world were together.

And, counting Eris Adoldia, the Sword God, that family now gathered three of the Seven Great World Powers.

For their closest social circle, however, it was not such a great surprise.

Many people had already noticed the signs of Aisha’s interest in Rygar for a long time. Verdia, Ghislaine, and Eris, obviously, had known for a long time. Some people merely pretended not to know in order not to embarrass Aisha.

This, of course, did not stop most of the bachelors in the Kingdom of Gaia from looking at Rygar with hostility.

For several days, many promising young men completely forgot Rygar’s power, position, and reputation in order to curse him behind his back. They said he already had three beautiful and powerful women, and still was not satisfied.

The reason was simple.

Aisha was one of the most coveted single women in the Kingdom of Gaia. For many young mages, warriors, researchers, and emerging nobles, marrying her was a dream.

She was beautiful, influential, brilliant, absurdly powerful, and practically one of the greatest educational and magical authorities in the world.

Naturally, no one truly believed they had a chance. But knowing it was impossible did not stop anyone from feeling robbed.

For that reason, for several days, the marriage became the main topic in academies, taverns, and barracks. There were those who spoke with admiration, those who spoke with envy, those who spoke with fear, and those who merely wanted to comment because everyone else was commenting.

As always, a wedding party was held for family and close friends.

It was not an excessively public ceremony. Neither of them liked political theater, and there was also no reason to turn the wedding into a military gathering.

There were congratulations, plenty of drink, plenty of food, and plenty of celebration.

Aisha tried to maintain a dignified posture for a good part of the night, but that became more difficult as Eris, Verdia, and a few others began teasing her.

Rygar, on the other hand, was very calm, which only irritated Aisha even more. For many of those present, it was quite amusing to see the Divine Sorceress become visibly bothered by the teasing.

Even so, one specific moment ended up standing out.

Rufus, completely drunk and very furious, climbed onto a table and bravely announced that he would carry out a coup d’état against Godbard to seize control of the City of Dwarves.

Many were relieved that Rufus had said that at an intimate party, and not in front of the public. Even so, the episode clearly exposed how much the conflict between the traditional dwarves and Rufus’s faction had grown lately.

The elders argued that dwarven culture was, essentially, militaristic. Rufus, on the other hand, wanted progress and new technologies that went beyond military production.

Another matter that particularly caught Rygar’s attention was discovering that Ruby had a boyfriend.

In truth, it was not that simple. Ruby and the young man were planning to marry soon.

Rygar was genuinely shocked that he knew nothing about him. From what Aisha explained, the two studied in the same class at Star Rise Academy and had known each other for more than five years.

The young man was, apparently, the most promising genius in the Alchemy class, besides seeming like a good person.

That did not stop Rygar from being shocked.

Ruby, on the other hand, seemed to find his entire reaction quite exaggerated. After all, she had not been a child for a long time. Even so, for Rygar, suddenly discovering that his little sister had a fiancé almost ready to be made official was surprising.

Either way, the most complicated part of Aisha officially entering the family involved some of Rygar’s children.

The children became a little confused about what to call her.

Some already treated her as an aunt. Others, especially the younger ones, were already used to seeing her as someone from the household. Hubert, in particular, seemed more confused than all the others, because apparently he had already decided on his own that Aisha was "Magic Mom" long before the marriage.

In the end, it was not a great difficulty.

Aisha was already part of the family in practice. Now, she was merely part of it in name as well.

At that moment, there were no apostles plotting in the shadows, nor enemies capable of posing a real threat. The Kingdom of Gaia was strong, the Iron Legion spread its influence, Orsted had established formal cooperation, and even Hitogami seemed cornered enough to beg for mercy.

Rygar’s goal, the more he grew in this world, had always been to achieve freedom above all things.

Now, that freedom seemed closer than at any other moment. But of course, he could not surrender himself to that tranquility for very long.

As long as Hitogami lived, he would be plotting, resisting, and fighting with all his strength, clinging to his own miserable life.

POV: Nanahoshi Shizuka

I must say that, of all the things I had done in this magical world after being accidentally teleported, flying on a dragon was definitely the coolest.

"Are you all right, Miss Silent?"

Nina Britz, the owner of the dragon in question, seemed to notice that I was distracted.

I coughed to disguise it and answered calmly:

"I am fine. Flying on something like this is very different from what I imagined."

Nina watched me for a moment. I could see a small smile on her face.

Damn it... I am sure I was caught.

"We are almost there. Prepare to land."

As soon as she finished speaking, the dragon suddenly lowered its altitude very quickly. I automatically held my breath.

In the distance, I could see a great White Tower rising among the green of the forest. I had passed near Milishion several years ago with Orsted, so I recognized the general appearance, but this one seemed to have been modified quite a lot. Even so, without a doubt, this was my final destination.

What was I doing in the Kingdom of Gaia, you ask? Well, the answer was simple.

I had been recommended as a research assistant by the Dragon God Orsted.

A few years ago, my research had advanced very quickly. First, I managed to summon plastic bottles, then a watermelon, then increasingly specific objects. With each success, I felt that I was closer to returning home.

But unfortunately, I did not succeed in the end.

That led me to the conclusion that my destination was several years in the future. So, with the help of one of Perugius’s Spirits, I froze my time.

Unfortunately, I was suddenly awakened from that state because Perugius warned that it would not be safe to continue. He was right. It truly was not safe.

Perugius died.

And by the hands of none other than Orsted.

Even Rudeus died in that insane battle.

The recent months had been difficult. There was no denying that. Even so, in a way, everything that happened ended up benefiting me greatly.

I did not even like thinking that way, much less saying it out loud, but for my goal of returning home, that result was unquestionably the best.

We finally landed. Nina waited for me to get down from the dragon and then said goodbye:

"Good luck with your research, Miss Silent."

"Thank you, Miss Nina."

I smiled politely. Internally, however, I was wondering whether an escort of that level was really necessary. I hope they are not overestimating my knowledge.

I turned toward the Tower and took a deep breath.

Calm down, Nanahoshi.

You passed all the tests at Star Rise Academy. That should be more than enough, right?

I mean, how much knowledge about travel between worlds could they possibly have?

I walked toward the tower gate while thinking, and looked around. That part of the Great Forest was quite beautiful, with mountains and waterfalls in the distance, as well as trees spaced far enough apart to allow sunlight through.

When I looked back at the door, however, I was startled.

A girl of the beast race was standing there, watching me impassively. She seemed to be about seven or eight years old, and wore blue clothes that looked more like pajamas.

But that could not be. The sun was high, and by now it had to be around two in the afternoon. Why would someone still be in pajamas?

Wait, what? I became even more surprised when I realized that those pajamas were very similar to ones from Earth.

The girl spoke mechanically:

"I am Diana. My parents want me to interact more socially, so I am being forced to receive guests. Are you Nanahoshi Shizuka?"

"Y-yes, I am..."

So this was the Beast God’s eldest daughter. She looked exactly like the rumors said.

Diana nodded and turned around, entering the Tower. I hesitated for a second over whether I should follow her, but did so anyway.

What an eccentric family. I hope this research goes well, after all.

----

Obviously, although Nanahoshi was trying to appear confident down below, she had long since entered Rygar’s perception field.

He was currently eating sushi peacefully in an armchair.

Meanwhile, Verdia and Aisha were talking about Perugius’s Summoned Spirits.

Despite his death, the Spirits continued to exist and could be summoned by a Summoning mage skilled enough. The problem was not exactly skill. There were at least four people in Gaia who fulfilled the minimum requirements.

The problem was loyalty.

Perugius’s Spirits could be bound to a contract of servitude, but none of them were truly willing to serve another master. Verdia, with the Spiritual Eye, could talk to them even without summoning them, but she was still in the process of convincing them.

It was admirable how the Armored Dragon had won such pure loyalty from his subordinates.

With some of the unique and mysterious abilities of those Spirits, many lines of research could advance much more smoothly. The proof of that was the most recent Spirit with whom Verdia had formed a contract.

Hyperion, a Spirit of Space.

His main ability was to bend space. He could do that to move with ease or to create attacks that were almost impossible to defend against. He was extremely versatile, and his abilities helped test many of Aisha’s theories with much more functionality.

After all, although Rygar possessed teleportation spells, they were much more rigid and calculated. Hyperion, on the other hand, simply existed that way.

While following Diana and Nanahoshi as they climbed higher and higher, Rygar interrupted Verdia and Aisha’s conversation.

"The girl from Earth is arriving. In fact, they are climbing the stairs right now."

Verdia’s eyes shone.

"Oh! She finally arrived!"

Verdia was especially excited to meet Nanahoshi.

Rygar, with his mouth full of sushi, stared at her skeptically.

"Why do you want to meet her so much?"

Verdia looked away and whistled in a disguised manner.

"Heh, obviously she wants to ask about your life on Earth," Aisha said, while sitting on Rygar’s lap and attacking the tray of sushi.

Rygar coughed.

"Cough, cough. I already tell you about my life on Earth when you ask!"

Verdia rolled her eyes and sat on the other side of the sofa.

"You only tell your version. I want to hear a different perspective... It sounds like a much more interesting place than you make it seem."

"I can guarantee that this world is more interesting than Earth."

Rygar truly believed that, although it was doubtful whether he would have the same opinion if he had been reborn as a condemned Asuran slave. This world could be very good or very bad, depending on one’s luck.

"Besides," he continued, "I did not even know Nanahoshi. She was just a student. I probably only saw her once during our death."

Verdia did not seem convinced.

Rygar gave up and turned back toward the tray of snacks... only to realize that Aisha had eaten all of them.

When she noticed his gaze, Aisha agilely jumped out of his lap and ran away laughing.

"Hehe!"

Rygar was about to protest and grab her, but held back when he noticed something interesting. Aisha had been eating quite a lot lately. Could it be...?

Before he could think further about it, the door opened.

Diana entered with Nanahoshi right behind her.

"Delivered."

After that, Diana went straight to the sofa.

Nanahoshi stood still for an instant, clearly trying to maintain her composure. Then she bowed politely.

"I-it is a pleasure to meet you. I am Nanahoshi Shizuka. I hope we have a good cooperation!"
