The Eternal Supreme Chapter 2406: A smile after a thousand years (finale)

“Hmph!”
Yunxiao gripped the Thunder in his left hand while hoisting his blade with his right. A sword talisman radiated outward, warping the surroundings into a bizarre spatial configuration that defied logic.
A sudden epiphany struck Yunxiao, like a bolt of lightning illuminating his mind. As he gazed at the sword’s form, his eyes ignited with clarity.
Since merging with Qing Zhu, he had spent five years in a state of idiocy, a period that allowed him to fully integrate the untainted spirit power of the yi wood. Though his cultivation level and insights had surpassed those of a Realm King, he had reached a plateau.
Yet, under Yuan’s relentless onslaught, a new comprehension of the space within the sword dawned upon him. It felt as though a massive gateway had swung open, revealing a vast path stretching out before him.
“It truly is a profound weapon forged from Super Profound Space! It is no wonder Six-winged fell to you!”
Yuan’s expression twisted into a mask of malice. The rune etched between her eyebrows bled down to her palm, manifesting as a polygonal sacred relic which she violently thrust forward!
Yunxiao’s gaze turned fierce as he let out a frigid cry, “Slay the demon and purge the devil!”
“Boom boom boom!”
The titanic sword descended with the weight of a mountain, crashing against the palm strike, yet it seemed to be halted by an invisible barrier!
These two cataclysmic forces clashed in mid-air, instantly carving the environment into two polarized worlds!
Despite wielding his most potent sword techniques and lightning, Yunxiao found himself unable to overwhelm his foe. He felt a surge of alarm; had it not been for the sudden enlightenment that sharpened his sword essence, he likely would have been defeated already.
Yuan was even more stunned. The sacred object she held possessed a legendary lineage—even a Lord of the Thousand Worlds would hesitate to face this strike directly. Yet, this opponent had successfully parried it.
Yunxiao’s consciousness continued to delve into the depths of sword intent. Despite the crushing pressure, his spirit remained as tranquil as if he were in deep meditation. Such a rare opportunity for growth was hard to find even in the most secluded Cultivation.
Time crawled by. Both combatants were drenched, sweat falling from them in heavy droplets.
Yi and the others watched with bated breath. Xiao Hong and Yi attempted to intervene several times, but they were held back. Given the magnitude of the power at play, any attempt by the three of them to disrupt that volatile balance would likely result in their instant annihilation.
Suddenly, Yunxiao felt a stir in his heart. Reaching another level of realization, his eyes burned with intensity.
He manifested three heads and six arms. While his primary hands held the line, the four auxiliary arms behind him rapidly wove hand seals. The lightning and sword light ahead of him merged into a singular, vast divine radiance, its potency doubling in an instant!
“BOOM!”
The equilibrium shattered. The space surrounding Yuan collapsed, and he was hurled backward, coughing up a torrent of ink-black fluid.
Yuan’s face turned deathly pale, though her expression held more terror than pain.
“Don’t, don’t kill me!”
Watching Yunxiao approach with measured steps, sword in hand, Yuan finally succumbed to fear. Her eyes were wide with dread as she pleaded for her life.
Yunxiao let out a heavy sigh. The intense pressure had forced his realm to advance significantly, but now that Yuan was beaten, that flow of enlightenment had evaporated, leaving him with a sense of lingering regret.
“Not kill you? Give me a single reason why I should spare you.”
Yunxiao spoke coldly, the tip of his blade leveled at Yuan’s head to prevent any further treachery.
Yuan turned ashen. “There is no blood feud between us. Why must you take my life?”
Yunxiao’s expression hardened as he snorted. “So, you have no reason to live?”
Feeling the icy aura of the blade, Yuan shrieked in panic, “I have one! I have a reason!”
Her expression shifted through a range of dark emotions. Finally, grinding her teeth, she held up the strange, multifaceted sacred object. “I will give you this. It is a price high enough for my life.”
“What is this?” Yunxiao’s pupils narrowed as he scrutinized the object.
Yuan remained quiet for a moment before asking, “As a Realm King, surely you have heard of the ‘Realm Emblem’?”
“What?”
Yunxiao’s frame shook, his composure nearly breaking. “What game are you playing? I know the true origin of the Realm Emblem! How could you possibly possess such a thing?”
Yuan gave a strained chuckle, a cold glint appearing in her eyes. “Why wouldn't I? When this King refined the Devil Realm, it manifested naturally!”
Yunxiao froze as the pieces clicked together. “You are from the old Devil World... the madman who tried to refine it? Weren't you decimated by Ancient God Maha and the others before fleeing into the Chaos Great Cosmos?”
Yuan was taken aback, her eyes flashing with rage. She hissed, “So Mahākāyapa and his lot have already spoken to you! Yes, I am that lunatic. But I never escaped into the Chaos Great Cosmos. I was too broken to survive the journey. I used a ruse to crawl back to the Devil World and have been hiding here to recover. I used a massive formation to mask my presence from those in the Land of Reincarnation. But eventually, I realized with bitterness that the resources of this realm were insufficient to return me to the status of a Lord of the Thousand Worlds!”
“I see,” Yunxiao remarked. “And what of Six-winged? He must have known you were here.”
“Hmph, do not speak of that failure!”
Yuan’s face darkened as she spat, “I never expected him to be so incompetent! I saved him from the edge of the abyss and groomed him to be the new Demon Master. He even reached the Lord of a Thousand Worlds realm, yet he still managed to get killed! Useless! My plan was for him to refine the two realms and escort me into the Chaos Great Cosmos. Only there can I truly regain my peak or ascend further!”
Yunxiao now understood the full scope of the plot. “Then why possess Yuan? You could have struck a deal with her and guided her to become a Lord of the Thousand Worlds.”
Yuan replied with fury, “I have no more patience! Do you know how many eons have passed? I want to slaughter my way back to the Land of Reincarnation! Furthermore, becoming a Lord of a Thousand Worlds requires innate potential. This woman’s talent was mediocre; reaching her current level was already a miracle. She had hit her ceiling. That is why I seized her body to plan my next move.”
Yunxiao smiled thinly, reaching out with his left hand to take the seal. “This item is indeed worth your life,” he said. “Vacate Yuan’s body immediately and depart on your own.”
“What? You want me to leave?”
Yuan’s eyes bulged with anger. “It took immense effort to successfully possess this host. If you had arrived just a few months later, the result of this fight would be different! I will not surrender this body!”
“Since you have been defeated,” Yunxiao sneered, “you must face the reality of your loss. Stop clinging to 'what ifs.' I agreed to let you live, but I never agreed to let you keep Yuan’s body. If you refuse to leave, I will simply end you here.”
“You coward! Damn you!”
Yuan howled in rage, but with the sword at her throat, she had no choice but to comply.
Moments later, a swarm of black bubbles erupted from Yuan’s pores. A dark fluid drained from her, pooling on the ground until it coalesced into a mass of viscous meat. With a sharp whistle, the mass took flight, attempting to flee into the distance.
Suddenly, a searing streak of fire cut across the sky. A terrifyingly fast blade of flame cleaved through the air!
“Ahhh!”
A final, desperate shriek tore from the fleshy mass before it exploded and was incinerated into nothingness by the heat.
The one who struck was Yuan herself. She was pale, her brow dripping with cold sweat, and her eyes were filled with lingering terror.
“Hmph, you think you can just leave? You are fortunate I didn't mince you into a thousand pieces for violating my body!”
Once she saw the entity was utterly destroyed, the fear in Yuan’s eyes faded, replaced by a fierce intensity. However, the strain took its toll, and she collapsed toward the ground.
By then, the Elder and the others had arrived. The Elder rushed forward in a panic to support her, asking anxiously, “Lady Yuan, are you alright?”
Yuan waved him off silently, her gaze fixed only on Yunxiao.
Yunxiao looked at the weakened woman and said, “I have come to...”
“You don’t need to explain; I can guess why you are here,” Yuan interrupted. She closed her eyes, her voice laced with pain. “You killed Zhuo Kun, yet you just saved my life. I am no longer your match. From this day forward, we are strangers.”
Yunxiao gave a faint smile and a nod. “That is for the best.” He cupped his fists in a parting gesture. “Everyone, I have accomplished what I came for and will not linger. Farewell. If destiny permits, perhaps our paths will cross again.”
“Lord Li is departing?” the Elder asked, visibly stunned. Her eyes clouded with a touch of sadness and reluctance.
“Every journey has its end,” Yunxiao said warmly. “Focus on your Cultivation. Perhaps we shall meet again further down the road.”
Yi did not realize he was bound for the Land of Reincarnation; she only felt a deep, quiet melancholy at his departure.
With that, Yunxiao and Xiao Hong took their leave.
The Elder watched their retreating forms and whispered to herself, “I truly envy little sister Xiao Hong.”
Upon returning to the Holy Region, Yunxiao entered a period of secluded Cultivation.
The battle in the Devil Realm had granted him insights into profound techniques that required time to process. Furthermore, the acquisition of the Realm Emblem filled him with excitement, and he began to study it with great focus.
Two years passed. Suddenly, a miraculous spiritual light erupted over the Holy Region, expanding until it draped across the entire sky.
The whole Northern Region was bathed in this majestic holy radiance. Every martial artist felt the shift, their hearts stirred as if by a sudden revelation.
This phenomenon persisted for hours before the light condensed into a golden rain, falling to nourish the lands of the north.
Countless warriors broke through their bottlenecks instantly, ascending to higher realms in a wave of pleasant surprise and gratitude.
At the center of the Sanctuary’s main palace, a layer of holy light shimmered. A multitude of experts had gathered, debating the event, while many others sat in meditation to seize the opportunity for growth.
Inside the Great Hall, a figure materialized. It was Zhuo Qingfan, who looked at Yunxiao with astonishment. “You’ve actually ascended to the Lord of a Thousand Worlds realm. Truly remarkable.”
Yunxiao sat enveloped in holy light, his presence harmonizing with thousands of divine flames to create an aura of supreme sanctity.
With a calm smile, he performed a hand seal to disperse the celestial phenomena. “It was luck.”
“Hehe.”
‘Zhuo Qingfan’ laughed. “Luck is merely the modest man’s word for success.”
“I appreciate the praise, Lord Maha,” Yunxiao replied. “Perhaps I learned more than expected from analyzing that Realm Emblem.”
‘Zhuo Qingfan’ sighed with emotion. “We assumed that madman had vanished into the Chaos Great Cosmos. To think he was still within the minor chaotic starfields. Regardless, even if he had survived, he would never have reclaimed his former power.”
“There is no need for sorrow, my Lord,” Yunxiao said. “This is the cycle of the heavens; karma always finds its mark.”
‘Zhuo Qingfan’ nodded. “Go and finalize your affairs. The corridor was established last month. The Cosmic Disc will arrive shortly.”
Yunxiao nodded and, in a blur of motion, appeared outside the hall. The crowd immediately snapped to attention, bowing deeply. “Greetings, Alliance Leader!”
Yunxiao raised a hand, and an invisible force lifted them all. “There is no need for such formality. I am no longer the leader of the Heavenly Martial Alliance.” His gaze shifted to a green-robed man nearby. “Wei Qing, I am entrusting the future to you.”
Wei Qing was visibly moved. He held back his words and simply nodded firmly.
“Then I can leave with a light heart,” Yunxiao said, smiling.
The gathering outside the hall was immense. Nearly every powerhouse from both worlds was present; even Bi and An had traveled from the Devil World. Countless familiar faces looked on.
Li Changfeng and the Li family were there as well, many of them unable to hold back their tears.
Yunxiao spotted one figure and smiled. “Luo Qingyun, it seems our duel must be postponed for a long time.”
Luo Qingyun’s expression was a mix of complex emotions. He cupped his fists and said, “The Land of Reincarnation? We shall meet there eventually!”
“Haha, well said!”
Che You slapped his shoulder with a laugh. “We both carry the Dragon heritage. We are the apex of existence. Let us strive together!”
Yunxiao looked at his old companion who had been by his side through two lifetimes. For a moment, he was at a loss for words.
“What are you staring at?” Che You joked. “I’ve had to look at your face for two lives now; it’s ruined my appetite. Finally, I’ll have some peace.”
Yunxiao stepped forward and pulled him into a fierce hug. “Thank you for everything.”
Che You broke down, massive tears streaming from his dragon eyes. He gripped Yunxiao tightly while grumbling, “Two men embracing... how revolting! I am a True Dragon of this world; how will I maintain my reputation after people see this?”
‘Zhuo Qingfan’s’ expression suddenly sharpened. “They have arrived sooner than expected.” He threw several hand seals into the air.
A sphere of multifaceted light expanded above the hall, drifting like a colorful mist.
A miniature universe seemed to take shape within that halo. Amidst glowing stars, a silver pillar of primordial chaos power surged down, only to vanish in a heartbeat.
Where the light had touched, a silver compass now hovered, radiating a soft glow.
Yunxiao’s eyes lit up with joy as he summoned the disc to his hand. He struck it with his palm, causing a silver luster to flow over the surface until an exquisite pill emerged.
“Water Deity!” he shouted happily.
The Water Deity had already manifested the Ru Wo Wen. Upon the Golden Lotus, Fei Ni’s life flame flickered precariously.
Yunxiao directed the Nirvana Pill toward the flame. As it hovered, the heat of the fire began to roast the medicine, releasing spirals of spirit energy that swirled into the flame.
Watching closely, Yunxiao could see the faint silhouette of Fei Ni forming within the fire, strengthened by the pill’s power.
‘Zhuo Qingfan’ spoke up, “Rest easy. With the Nirvana Pill, Fei Ni’s revival is certain. Do not linger; you must travel back through the path created by the star disc immediately. The longer you wait, the more the path withers, increasing the danger.”
“I wish to see Fei Ni before I go,” Yunxiao said, his brow furrowing.
‘Zhuo Qingfan’ gave a small laugh. “That is impossible. Reincarnation takes at least three to four days, and she will be in a deep coma afterward. It will be a year before she can speak. Do you intend to wait and let the star path vanish? That is far too reckless.”
Hearing this, Qu Hongyan and the other women urged him to go. “It has only been fifteen years. Is Feiyang not planning to return to us?” Qu Hongyan asked with a forced, tearful smile.
Yunxiao sighed deeply, looking at the beautiful faces of his companions, all of whom were weeping.
He offered a soft smile, then turned and stepped into the light. His voice lingered in the hall long after he was gone: “I shall return soon.”
His solitary figure faded into the infinite brilliance of the star compass.
The Yi River flows freely...
