Hazel and Leo are interrupted during an intimate encounter in the bathroom by a knock on the door. Leo had initiated the encounter, driven by Hazel's obvious desire during dinner, despite the proximity of the other triplets. They engage in passionate lovemaking, with Leo teasing Hazel about the sounds she might make if heard by her other mates. The encounter ends with them nearly reaching climax simultaneously, only to be interrupted by the knock.

A sudden rap on the door jolted us back to reality. Leo’s eyes widened for a fleeting moment before his characteristic smirk reappeared.

“Hazel? Leo? Is everything alright in there?” Liam’s voice, laced with worry, called through the door.

“Just one second!” I replied, my voice coming out unnaturally high. Scrambling from the sink, I winced as a familiar soreness between my legs made itself known.

Leo observed with evident amusement as I hastily pulled on my underwear and shorts. “Calm down, sweetheart. They certainly know what we were engrossed in.”

“That doesn’t make it any better!” I retorted, yanking my shirt over my head. My face felt hotter than a scorching sun.

Leo casually straightened his clothes, appearing annoyingly composed while I was likely a mess. A single sweep of his fingers through his dark hair, and somehow, it settled perfectly.

“Your hair,” he commented softly, reaching out to smooth down my disheveled blonde strands. His touch was unexpectedly gentle, a stark contrast to his usual biting remarks.

Another, more urgent, knock sounded. “Guys? Should we be concerned?” This time, it was Lucas.

Leo rolled his eyes and approached the door. “Ready to face the consequences, sweetheart?”

I managed a nod, attempting to project an air of dignity I didn't feel. Leo threw the door open, revealing all three Sullivan brothers in the hallway, each sporting a distinct expression.

Lucas lounged against the wall, arms crossed, a knowing smirk gracing his lips. Liam stood slightly behind him, his cheeks a faint pink of embarrassment, his gaze darting everywhere but at us. And then there was Levi, eyes wide, hands gripping his hair as if contemplating ripping it out.

“No way,” Levi exclaimed dramatically. “You guys didn’t! Inside our bathroom? Our personal, sacred bathroom?”

Leo stepped out, utterly unaffected. “It's a bathroom, not a shrine, Sullivan.”

“But—but—” Levi stammered, his distress palpable. “We brush our teeth in there!”

Lucas could no longer suppress his laughter. “Levi, I assure you, they weren’t engaging in any toothbrush-related activities.”

“You can’t prove that!” Levi pointed an accusatory finger at Leo. “He looks precisely like the sort who would desecrate innocent oral hygiene tools!”

Liam finally met our eyes, placing a sympathetic hand on his younger brother’s shoulder, though the amusement twinkling in his gaze was undeniable. “I believe you might be exaggerating slightly.”

I remained frozen in the doorway, sheer mortification pinning me in place. This felt somehow worse than outright anger.

“If it offers any comfort,” Leo stated with his infuriatingly casual air, “we were exceptionally mindful not to create any disorder.”

“That does NOT help!” Levi wailed, dropping dramatically to his knees. “I’ll never be able to relieve myself in there with a clear conscience again!”

Lucas and Liam erupted in laughter at their brother’s theatrical display. Lucas stooped to help Levi to his feet. “Come on, drama king. Let’s go finish dinner.”

As they turned to head back towards the dining area, Leo shot me a quick grin that sent an absurd flutter through my chest. For just a moment, I glimpsed genuine happiness beneath his typically guarded facade.

“You’re coming, sweetheart?” he called back over his shoulder.

I quickly followed, my embarrassment slowly dissipating as I observed the four men engaging in their characteristic banter. The entire scene—the way they interacted despite their differing personalities—stirred a comforting warmth within me.

Later, after dinner, I found myself beside Liam at the kitchen sink, tackling the dishes while the others cleared the table. Glancing through the kitchen window, I saw Lucas engrossed on his laptop on the porch, while Leo and Levi were down by the water, seemingly embroiled in a disagreement.

“Levi’s certainly giving Leo a piece of his mind,” Liam remarked with a chuckle, nodding towards the pair.

I smiled, watching Levi’s animated gestures as Leo stood with hands in his pockets, appearing completely unfazed. “I suspect Leo rather enjoys provoking him.”

“Most likely.” Liam handed me a plate to dry. “So… things between you and Leo seem to be progressing well.”

My cheeks flushed at his perceptive tone. “Yes, they are. He’s… not quite what I anticipated.”

“In a positive way?”

I nodded, my smile widening. “Definitely positive. Everything has been truly wonderful, in fact. Being here with all of you… I never imagined my life would unfold this way.”

Liam’s expression softened considerably. “You deserve it, Hazel. After all you’ve endured, you are certainly entitled to happiness.”

Outside, Levi had now forcefully pushed Leo down onto the sand, though Leo seemed hardly bothered by the aggressive move. Lucas glanced up from his laptop, shaking his head at their antics but making no move to intervene.

“Just look at them,” Liam commented, laughing. “I believe Levi is finally embracing the idea of Leo’s presence. They appear quite close now.”

I raised an eyebrow in question. “Do you think so? Because it looks rather like Levi is attempting to bury him alive in sand at this very moment.”

“That’s just Levi’s way of showing affection,” Liam explained with a grin. “Believe me, if he disliked Leo, he wouldn’t bother engaging with him at all.”

Upon closer observation, Liam’s assessment proved accurate. Despite Levi’s evident displeasure, his actions lacked genuine anger, and Leo, surprisingly, was smiling—a rare, authentic expression that dramatically altered his usually stern countenance.

“I believe you are correct,” I conceded, a wave of happiness washing over me as I witnessed their camaraderie.

We concluded our task with the dishes just as twilight descended, bathing the sky in vibrant hues of orange and pink. Liam, having dried his hands with a towel, nudged my shoulder. “Come along, we have a surprise awaiting you.”

Outside, blankets had been spread across the sand by the others. Lucas patted the spot next to him, and I settled between him and Levi. Leo took his place on Levi’s other side, exhibiting an uncharacteristic state of ease.

“What is this surprise?” I inquired, drawing nearer to Lucas as the evening breeze began to stir.

“Patience,” Lucas whispered, his arm encircling my shoulders.

Moments later, the first firework ignited the darkening sky, a spectacular explosion of red and gold that shimmered upon the water’s surface. I let out a delighted gasp as subsequent bursts followed, crafting a breathtaking spectacle overhead.

“How did you manage to arrange this?” I asked, turning my gaze towards Lucas.

He offered a smile, the celestial colors reflecting upon his features. “I have my sources.”

“He means he spent an exorbitant sum to secure permits for a private fireworks exhibition,” Levi interjected with a grin.

“Every bit was worth it,” Lucas responded simply, his attention fixed on me rather than the aerial display.

I nestled further into Levi’s embrace as he drew me nearer, his comforting warmth shielding me from the descending chill of the night. To his other side, Leo observed the fireworks with silent admiration, occasionally exchanging brief remarks with Lucas above our heads.

The scene felt utterly perfect—enveloped by my mates, witnessing the sky ignite in celebration of nothing in particular, perhaps nothing more than our shared contentment. Had anyone suggested a year prior that I would find myself in this very situation, cherished by four individuals who once caused me immense distress, I would have dismissed them outright.

Yet now, as my eyes swept over each of them—Lucas, with his quiet fortitude; Liam, with his tender warmth; Levi, with his lively spirit; and Leo, with his steadfast, albeit reluctant, devotion—I could envision no other place I’d rather be.

For the first time in my existence, a profound sense of belonging enveloped me. After years adrift, marked by feelings of rejection, neglect, and unfair treatment, I had finally discovered my rightful place in this world.

Ultimately, I had found my home, nestled within the hearts of my mates.
