“A Heavenly Immortal has arrived!”
The cultivators below watched in awe as the firmament of the Tianchu Realm seemed to fracture. Descending from the rift was a Heavenly Immortal draped in garments of golden feathers that radiated a brilliant Divine Light. The plumage appeared as formidable and sharp as a suit of divine armor.
Another Heavenly Immortal had manifested in the heavens, yet this newcomer clearly did not hail from the Palace of Gods.
Young Miss?
The observers shifted their gaze toward Ye Zhiyin and her companions. It was shocking to realize these youths were of such noble lineage that they possessed a Heavenly Immortal as a personal protector!
!!
In a domain governed by the Palace of Gods, who would possess the audacity to challenge them? Only an Elder from the Palace itself might dare, but that was impossible; if that were the case, Gu Feiyang would have recognized them immediately.
“A Demon Monarch!” The eyes of the Heavenly Immortal from the Palace of Gods narrowed as he locked onto the figure in golden feathers. He declared, “I am Taishan, an Itinerant Cultivator of the Palace of Gods. State your identity.”
The Palace of Gods was overseen by a council of Elders whose authority spanned the globe. Numerous Itinerant Cultivators served under these Elders, each possessing the strength of a Heavenly Immortal, and Taishan was among their ranks.
Enveloped in Divine Light, Taishan stood as an intimidating figure. Floating in the void, he looked down upon the masses with blatant arrogance. Throughout the vast multiverse, the Palace of Gods stood as a titan, ruling over countless worlds, with the Tianchu Realm being just one of its territories. As the supreme power of this realm, Taishan felt no need to fear his opponent’s origin.
His adversary was the Demon Monarch—the true form of the Little Condor.
The Little Condor glanced at Yu Shou and fumed. To think the son of the Second Elder was being harassed by such nobodies! Had the Second Elder been present, he would have cleaved the enemy in two. Furthermore, the Young Miss was being mistreated. The arrogance of these fools incensed the Condor Emperor beyond measure.
“Uncle Condor!” Ye Zhiyin and Yu Shou called out in greeting. Little Condor was their long-time companion. Even though he served as the mount for Ye Zhiyin’s father, they treated him with the utmost respect. He often carried them across the lands and shared jokes to keep their spirits high.
“Young Miss, allow me to deal with this trash immediately!” Little Condor barked. Who did these people think the Young Miss was? He would never permit her to be insulted by strangers. This was unacceptable!
Taishan, the Itinerant Cultivator, knitted his brows. Instantly, a terrifying Divine Power flooded the heavens. An invisible gale of energy swirled toward Little Condor as an oppressive God’s Might weighed down on the surroundings.
“How insolent!” Taishan roared, stepping forward as the very air shook. A peerless God’s Might saturated the sky, threatening to shatter reality itself. Simultaneously, massive stone pillars descended from the clouds, targeting Little Condor’s position in an attempt to crush the entire area.
Whoosh! As the winds surged, Little Condor reverted to his massive original form. Every golden feather on his frame shone like a honed divine blade. With a flap of his wings, he became a streak of shimmering light. His movements generated sharp energy slashes that rent the air, pulverizing the stone pillars and streaking toward Taishan’s massive Heavenly Immortal form.
In that heartbeat, Taishan’s giant figure glowed, manifesting a true Divine Body that merged with the world, as if he were the deity governing the universe. Channeling immense power into his arms, he threw a punch imbued with a fist will that tore through the atmosphere, creating a violent vortex that shot across the void at Little Condor.
“Heaven Collapse!” his voice boomed. The heavens shuddered at his decree. Nearby cultivators felt as though their very bones would shatter from the pressure. Yet, Little Condor did not flinch, charging forward as his wings transformed into lethal divine weapons.
“God-Slayer!”
Clang! Clang! The screeching sound of wings slicing through the fist will echoed through the sky. The relentless wing-slashes met the Heaven Collapsing Fist in a direct collision, resulting in a thunderous explosion that leveled the surrounding architecture.
As the resulting shockwave tore through the area, most onlookers were slammed into the dirt. Under the force of the ripple, almost no one could remain standing.
“This is pure insanity!”
The hearts of the Tianchu Realm’s inhabitants pounded as they witnessed the clash of Heavenly Immortals. No one had anticipated that a visitor would so recklessly engage a high-ranking member of the Palace of Gods.
The sky rang with the sound of constant impacts. With every strike, the atmosphere vibrated violently. The scale of this duel between two Heavenly Immortals was breathtakingly destructive.
“You beast, how dare you! Do not think you will survive after defying an Itinerant Cultivator of the Palace of Gods!” Taishan snarled during the heat of the struggle. He was stunned to find that this Demon Monarch was actually overwhelming him.
“Stop hiding behind the name of the Palace of Gods! It holds no weight with me! Who gave you the right to trouble my Young Miss?” Little Condor shouted back. “As a servant of my great master, I would be too ashamed to face him if I couldn't slaughter a worm like you! Slash of Sparkling Radiance!”
Following his roar, a blinding golden Divine Light sliced through the firmament, carving a crack in the very fabric of space. As the radiance tore through the sky, a spray of blood erupted, and Taishan let out a cry of pure agony.
The force of the exchange sent both combatants reeling backward, the storm of energy finally dissipating. When the crowd looked up, they saw blood pouring from the Heavenly Immortal’s massive frame. The sight of his severed limb was horrifying to behold.
Taishan, a Heavenly Immortal and Itinerant Cultivator of the Palace of Gods, had lost an arm.
The situation had spiraled out of control! To witness a youth challenge Gu Feiyang—one of the Palace's brightest stars—while his protector, the Demon Monarch, maimed an Itinerant Cultivator was beyond belief.
Was there truly someone willing to wage war against the Palace of Gods?
And what of the Demon Monarch’s master? Could the woman Gu Feiyang had tried to treat as a servant actually be the daughter of such a powerful figure?
If that were true, just how terrifying was the master of this Demon Monarch?
Another crash echoed as Yu Shou continued his assault on Gu Feiyang. The youth was systematically dismantling the arrogant cultivator who sat upon the Proud Son List. The battle was entirely lopsided.
“Regardless of your identity, you shall be flayed alive for this insult to the Palace of Gods!” Taishan’s voice thundered through the heavens. As his words rang out, lightning crackled and the sky split wide once more.
A transcendent God’s Might then began to saturate the world. Every soul in the Tianchu Realm looked up in terror. Many fell to their knees in instinctive worship of the divine presence.
“Hmm?” Little Condor’s expression darkened as he gazed upward. The Palace of Gods ruled this world; their decree was effectively the law of the universe. Taishan must have signaled for reinforcements from the higher heavens.
At the zenith of the sky, a massive Divine Palace appeared. A phalanx of Itinerant Cultivators from the Palace of Gods hovered before the gates.
Inside the palace, a figure sitting in a meditative lotus position opened his eyes and looked down at the mortal realm with cold indifference. With a single look, beams of Divine Light shot toward the Tianchu Realm. A crushing Heavenly Might filled the air, bearing down on Little Condor, Yu Shou, Ye Zhiyin, and their group.
The pressure was unbearable for Yu Shou and Ye Zhiyin. Under the weight of the Heavenly Path, their complexions turned deathly pale and their strength began to fail them.
“Kneel!” a voice commanded, sounding like the roar of the heavens themselves.
