I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 978: Obtaining the Level-One Cultivation Protocol

The Fourth Seat did not dodge the question.
“Yes.”
It was precisely so simple an answer that made Jie Ming truly realize how serious the matter was.
Was the new enemy they faced this time really so terrifyingly strong?!
Seeing through what Jie Ming was thinking, the Fourth Seat smiled and shook his head. “It isn’t quite what you imagine. The enemy we face this time is not all that strong in itself, but it has become the fuse for certain troublesome events.”
“So that’s how it is…”
Only then did Jie Ming relax. Otherwise, he would have had to find some way, whatever it took, to keep Mentor Clark and Senior Sister Viola safe!
“In any case, I am very sorry for meddling with your fate without asking.”
“Lord Fourth Seat, you have no need to apologize to me.”
Suppressing the turmoil in his heart, Jie Ming said earnestly:
“Finishing the research early is a good thing for me as well. What’s more, if this technology really can help the wizard civilization, then I’m more than willing to hand it over as early as possible.”
The Fourth Seat looked at him, and after a moment gave a small nod. “Thank you for understanding.”
“As for the backlash from interfering with fate, you need not worry. Since I decided to do this, I naturally made my preparations. All of the backlash will be borne by me. It will not affect your fate, nor place any extra burden on your future.”
At that, Jie Ming relaxed as well.
Since the Fourth Seat had stated plainly that he would bear all the backlash himself, there was no need for Jie Ming to keep dwelling on it.
He bowed to him in earnest. “And I must thank you for your help, Lord Fourth Seat.”
The Fourth Seat only waved it off. “The one who truly deserves thanks is you.”
“That you were able to research a technology like this is proof enough of your ability. All I did was make it appear at the point in time when it was needed.”
With that, he turned and looked at Savien and the other two. “What is the result of your review?”
Only then did the three masters, who had been eavesdropping from the side the whole time, seem to remember that they were still on the job.
Savien was the first to react. He closed the data packet in front of him at once and strode over to Jie Ming’s side.
“Review what? Does this still need any discussion from us?”
Bastian hurried over too. “Approved! If a technology like this isn’t worth the Level-One Cultivation Protocol, then we honestly can’t think what result would qualify.”
Morna did not put it so bluntly, but she nodded just as firmly. “I support awarding the Level-One Cultivation Protocol, and I recommend that follow-up research be pushed ahead as soon as possible. Leap Power touches on far too many fields. It can’t be left as one isolated technology.”
Having said their piece, the three looked at Jie Ming almost in unison, the excitement on their faces impossible to hide any longer.
The next moment, Savien suddenly reached out and seized Jie Ming by the shoulders.
“Good lad!”
Before Jie Ming could react, his body was flung violently into the air.
“Hahahaha! I said it long ago, you were bound to make a big splash sooner or later!”
Bastian and Morna joined in.
The three senior eighth-level wizards, caring nothing for their usual standing and dignity, tossed Jie Ming into the air and caught him again, over and over, in that space made of data.
Caught completely off guard, Jie Ming hurriedly tried to steady his mental form.
He did not know whether to laugh or cry.
He looked toward the Fourth Seat a short distance away, his eyes carrying more than a hint of appeal for help.
But the Fourth Seat only smiled gently.
“It’s all right. Enjoy the time with your friends first, and don’t mind me.”
Jie Ming was taken aback for a moment.
Only now did he dimly understand the Fourth Seat’s arrangements.
By what Felix had said at the start, this review should have brought in experts from several different fields, to make sure Leap Power received a comprehensive evaluation.
Yet those who had appeared in the end were Savien, Bastian and Morna, three masters of the spatial discipline whom he knew well.
They not only had the judgment to assess the technology’s value, they could also hold a reasonably natural conversation in front of the Fourth Seat.
With the Fourth Seat’s standing, finding high-level wizards willing to take part in a review was obviously no hard thing.
Yet this ninth-level wizard had chosen them, of all people.
Jie Ming suspected the Fourth Seat had been thinking of his feelings.
Thinking that, facing so lofty an existence for the first time, he could hardly help being nervous, the Fourth Seat had simply brought in a few people he knew to serve as the judges, to ease that nervousness as much as he could.
With that thought, the look Jie Ming turned on the Fourth Seat could not help but take on a measure of gratitude.
He said nothing more, and simply went along with the three masters’ antics, allowing himself a rare moment of relaxation.
When the three masters had finally had their fill of fooling around, Felix reappeared before everyone at just the right moment.
“Based on the current review results, Leap Power has met the technical assessment requirements for the Level-One Cultivation Protocol. It will now enter the formal procedure for awarding the protocol, and the related resource support plan will be determined according to the technology’s value for widespread adoption.”
At those words, Savien and the other two immediately congratulated Jie Ming once more.
The Fourth Seat, for his part, walked to Jie Ming’s side, patted him lightly on the shoulder, and delivered the final verdict. “Without question, this technology of yours is more than enough to earn the Level-One Cultivation Protocol!”
Hearing that, Jie Ming let out a relaxed smile.
He had given more than he could count for this day.
Now his research had not only been recognized, it had drawn the attention of the Fourth Seat, and was even held to be capable of having a major effect on the war to come.
Without a doubt, this was the most important breakthrough of his life so far.
The Fourth Seat, however, did not stay any longer.
“Well then, I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t disturb you any further.”
With that, he gave everyone a slight nod.
The next moment, the mosaic-covered mental form gradually dispersed and left the data space.
“Come to think of it, we have to be going too.”
“That’s right. At the very least we’ve got to hurry and get this technology into other people’s hands.”
“Jie Ming, my boy, next time we’ll sit down for a proper chat!”
Savien and the other two then took their leave of Jie Ming as well.
They each had their own research and affairs to see to, and could not linger here for long.
Before leaving, though, all three let him know that if he ever needed to do research in a related field in the future, he could contact them at any time.
Jie Ming answered each of them in turn.
A moment later, the data space receded into the distance.
His mind returned to the real world.
When Jie Ming opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Clark, Kastilla and Viola.
They had clearly been keeping watch in the laboratory the whole time, and each of their faces carried a tension they could not conceal.
Seeing Jie Ming finally wake, all three fixed their eyes on him at once.
Jie Ming said nothing, only gave a small nod.
The next moment, a gratified smile finally appeared on Clark’s face. “Very good.”
He said nothing more, but the pride in his voice was plain enough.
Teacher Kastilla walked straight up to Jie Ming and reached out to give his head a vigorous rub.
“Beautifully done, Little Jie Ming! You really have won us some face this time.”
Viola, unable to contain her excitement at all, simply pounced on him from the side and locked her arms around his neck in a stranglehold.
“Hahahaha! I knew it! I knew you’d get the Level-One Cultivation Protocol!”
Strangled until he could barely speak, Jie Ming managed, “Senior Sister… let go first…”
“What’s the hurry! This is a huge occasion!” The more Viola talked, the happier she got.
“From now on, I can finally walk with my head held high in the wizard civilization! I’d like to see who dares look down on me now!”
Watching the two of them carry on, Clark did not haul Viola away as he had before, but simply stood to one side, smiling and shaking his head.
Kastilla wore a relaxed smile as well.
She knew very well how much effort Jie Ming had poured into Leap Power.
Now that the technology had finally been recognized, it also meant the road ahead for his research would be a great deal smoother.
And for Jie Ming, this was only a beginning.
He had won the chance to step up to a higher level.
What he had to do next was use the resources the Star Ring Federation was about to provide to keep perfecting the Spiritual Qi Law.
At the same time, word of Leap Power began to spread rapidly.
The artificial intelligences of the four major powers finished synchronizing and evaluating the relevant materials almost simultaneously, then set about promoting the basic theory of Leap Power and cooperation on follow-up research.
Savien, Bastian and Morna, once back among their respective powers, likewise passed on the review results and the technology’s effects the moment they arrived.
Very soon, the relevant intelligence reached the upper echelons of the Star Ring Federation and the other three great powers.
At first, only a handful of high-level wizards in charge of research projects noticed the technical bulletin on their magic network terminals.
“Leap Power?”
When they saw the core principles within, along with the many sets of test data already completed, their initial puzzlement quickly turned to shock.
“This… is this real?”
“If it can be spread on a large scale, won’t the sustained combat capability of high-level wizards change completely?”
“Wait… who researched this technology?”
Only when someone saw the name of its creator did it finally sink in.
Jie Ming.
The wizard who had researched the Blood Sacrifice Method.
“Oh, it’s him. Then it’s no wonder.”
“It’s absurd. Achievements like this at his age!”
Elsewhere, news that Jie Ming had obtained the Level-One Cultivation Protocol quickly spread through every academy of the Noren Workshop.
Before long, the murmur of discussion in the academies turned into cheering.
“The Noren Workshop has gained another Level-One Cultivation Protocol recipient!”
“This is a technology that can carry the overall strength of the wizard civilization a step forward!”
“Wizard Jie Ming really is something!”
“Whoa whoa whoa!!!”
Even those high-level wizards who were normally buried in their research and paid little attention to news from outside set down their work one after another to read the relevant bulletin closely.
Many of them had already taken part in the tests Jie Ming organized and had long since recognized the potential of Leap Power.
Now that they learned the technology had passed formal review and could be studied and spread, they were naturally all the more excited.
And as more and more high-level wizards came to understand the changes Leap Power could bring, the whole wizard civilization was inevitably shaken.
And Jie Ming’s name, carried along by the spread of this technology, surged once more to the crest of the wave!
