I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality Chapter 962: A Strange Feeling
Previously on I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality...
The multi-armed creature had been casually tossed back by Wizard Fate, and its huge body tumbled over several times in the void.
The other wizards gathered round as well, and several strands of mental energy swept over the multi-armed creature without lingering long.
“Its life structure is very ordinary.”
“The traces of Law are shallow, too.”
“Nothing special about its mental core.”
Several high-level wizards gave their verdicts one after another.
Though they were not as blunt as Wizard Fate, they reached exactly the same conclusion: it had no research value.
Viola frowned at the multi-armed creature, obvious puzzlement in her eyes.
“This is a creature of the Central World?”
She reached out and lightly touched its body, sweeping it with her mental energy, and then her frown deepened.
“Isn’t it a bit too weak?”
This did not fit at all with the intelligence she had gathered from the various advanced civilizations over the years.
The Central World was something nearly every advanced civilization was deeply reluctant to speak of. How could it hold nothing but creatures of this caliber?
A fifth-level creature, and not even the kind of fifth-level creature with some special talent.
Strength like that counted for nothing at all in the outside world.
Jie Ming did not join in; his attention was still on his own rune vision.
He stared at the multi-armed creature, but what he felt was something different.
He had the sense that if he simply disrupted a few runes in its core region, its whole body would rapidly collapse.
But this one was already Wizard Fate’s spoils, and it was not his place to dispose of it as he pleased.
Fortunately, something would soon come along to let him test his idea.
Jie Ming turned to look into the depths of the plane, where another batch of creatures was charging toward the rift in the barrier. There were quite a few of them, their auras mostly between the third and fifth levels.
“Troublesome lot,” said Wizard Fate.
Although the rift in the plane barrier had been opened, it was still not enough to let the three plane wizards in.
All three plane wizards had already compressed their bodies of their own accord, but even so, their main bodies were still far too large.
Number One above all, whose main body was a large plane.
If its true body was to enter the world before them, the rift would have to be widened further.
Had this been only an ordinary small plane, it probably could not have withstood the three plane wizards rashly entering it.
Never mind fighting; the moment the three plane wizards’ true bodies were inside, the whole world would likely burst outright, like a balloon with a boulder stuffed into it.
Fortunately, judging by the present situation, the world before them was far larger than an ordinary plane, and holding three plane wizards at least should not be a problem.
“I’ll go scout the way first. The danger inside this plane doesn’t look high,” said Jie Ming.
Hearing this, Viola thought for a moment and jumped out as well. “Then I’ll come along.”
“I’ll go too,” said Berta Vera Augusta.
The other wizards naturally had no objection.
The three observed the situation inside the plane for a moment, then charged in through the opening and came down on the surface of the Central World like meteorites.
Boom!
The three figures plunged from the sky.
The earth shook. A terrifying shockwave spread out in every direction with the three of them at its center, the ground cracked apart across a wide area, and shattered rock flew into the sky like a rainstorm.
Even the distant mountain ranges were shaken until they swayed, and a whole stretch of forest was simply torn away.
Jie Ming slowly stood up. A fissure several hundred meters wide had already opened in the ground beneath his feet.
“What exactly are you things?”
A furious mental wave suddenly came from far away.
Right after it, a crowd of multi-armed creatures came flying across the sky.
The one at their head was clearly much stronger than the earlier one. It wore some kind of crude metal armor, held a weapon in each of its six arms, and had an aura that reached the fifth level.
And behind it followed a huge number of multi-armed creatures, the vast majority of them fourth-level.
“This is our world!”
“Why have you broken in?”
“Leave at once!”
Mental waves rang out one after another.
Jie Ming, however, could not even be bothered to answer.
He raised his hand and merely gave it a casual wave.
Boom!
A terrifying force swept across the sky in an instant.
The fifth-level multi-armed creature at their head did not even have time to react before its whole body shattered in midair.
The dozens of fourth-level creatures right behind it turned into a sky-filling mist of blood in the same instant.
Watching the remaining multi-armed creatures flee in chaos, Jie Ming withdrew his hand. “They really are weak.”
Viola flew over from the distance, still holding a multi-armed creature in her hand, her brows knitted tightly.
“Strange. I just searched these creatures’ souls.”
She looked at the multi-armed creatures fleeing in the distance.
“Going by this one’s memories… the overall fighting strength of this plane really doesn’t seem to be high.”
Augusta, who had flown over from the other direction, nodded as well.
“Judging by the lives we’ve come into contact with so far, there’s no sign of any high-level beings.”
These creatures were far too weak; they did not fit at all with how the other advanced civilizations described the Central World.
“Why don’t the three of us split up and push forward separately, and see what things are like here?” Jie Ming suggested.
Viola and Augusta exchanged a glance and nodded at the same time.
The three each picked a direction and left, and their figures soon vanished among the clouds and mountains in different directions.
As he flew, Jie Ming kept up the rune vision of his True-False Void-Piercing Pupil.
He crossed a valley scorched black by lightning and finally stopped at the edge of a huge cliff.
Below the cliff lay a vast plain, densely dotted with tens of thousands of multi-armed creature settlements.
The settlements were heaped together from rough rock and mud, in a primitive, crude style of building, without a trace of any technology worth mentioning.
There were no roads linking the settlements, no energy conduits, no trace of a rune network.
“So it really is just a primitive civilization? And there really isn’t any hidden power…”
Jie Ming hovered in the air above the cliff, looking at the scene below, and his brows gradually drew together.
“But… this is far too strange!”
In Jie Ming’s eyes, silver vortices of light turned ceaselessly.
In his vision, the whole land was made of runes too.
That in itself was nothing unexpected. What was truly unexpected was that, from what he could see, the rune patterns of this plane’s ground… and even of its air were more complex than those of these creatures!
Jie Ming landed beside a plant that looked like a tree and observed it closely.
If the rune makeup of those multi-armed creatures was like a bloated garbage heap, then the rune makeup of this tree, in both the number of runes and the complexity of their patterns, could be called a work of art!
If he was being honest, Jie Ming even felt that Augusta’s rune patterns fell a little short of these plants!
The problem was that careful study of these rune patterns showed they really did seem to make up nothing more than an ordinary plant.
Jie Ming casually snapped off a branch and fell silent, looking at the broken twig in his hand. “What on earth is going on with this world?!”
