Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 2161: Sneaking Into the Prison

Prison Island
After putting on the disguise, I returned to the control mirror. I had covered myself with a black overcoat and a new mask.
Next, I began waiting for an opportunity. I didn’t think these wizards were going to stay like this for several hours.
Time passed.
Morning turned into noon. Finally, the Forbidden Wizards encircling the well showed some signs of relaxing by talking to one another.
The Magic Lords, however, remained firm, not moving an inch from their posts.
My expression shifted. If the Magic Lords loosened up like the Forbidden Wizards, I would take my chance.
Time went on.
Night fell. The Magic Lords outside began to relax their rigid postures.
As time passed, they began conversing with others just like the Forbidden Wizards. They also started wandering a little further from their positions.
The Forbidden Wizards noticed this behavior, but they said nothing. They were already busy conversing among themselves.
No one strayed too far from the well. They were still there, but gathered in small groups with their backs turned to it.
The Magic Lords were confident that no one would dare come here, and the Forbidden Wizards had gathered together at a single spot.
Swoosh!
Right then, I appeared outside. I didn’t land on the ground; instead, I moved swiftly toward the well. In a flash, I reached the opening and began descending.
At that exact moment, a few Magic Lords and two Forbidden Wizards sensed something was wrong. As wind magic users, they felt a sudden disturbance in the air.
The Forbidden Wizards were the first to look back.
Then the Magic Lords turned around and stared at the well.
The two Forbidden Wizards caught only the fleeting shadow of a figure vanishing in an instant. They didn’t rush toward the well’s entrance immediately.
First, they wanted to confirm what they had seen. They exchanged glances, each seeing the same reaction mirrored on the other’s face.
Swoosh!
Both realized that what they saw was real. A second later, they dashed toward the well, appearing above it in a flash.
Looking down, they saw only darkness.
If they wanted to inspect it properly, they would have to head inside. But they were forbidden from even approaching the area, let alone entering it.
Nor could they use their mental power to scan it, as doing so would trigger the ward restrictions.
Meanwhile, their sudden movement had alerted everyone else. The Magic Lords swiftly returned to their defensive positions.
The Forbidden Wizards were equally startled.
"What happened?" an old man asked. He was the same one who had briefly left the island the previous day.
His two Magic Lord disciples were present as well, standing at their posts and looking toward their master.
Hearing his voice, the two Forbidden Wizards stepped back from the entrance and landed on the ground.
"It’s nothing. We just felt some movement in the air," one of them replied.
"You wind magic users are jumpy over everything," the old man grunted.
"That’s right. You’re alarming everyone over nothing," another Forbidden Wizard added.
With that, everyone returned to their positions-including the Forbidden Wizards. The mood was spoiled, and nobody felt like continuing their conversations.
Meanwhile,
I continued my descent. A creeping sense of uneasiness began to wash over me, radiating from the prison cells below.
It was coming from either the imprisoned wizards or the Elder-level magic restrictions.
Swoosh!
After a short while, I reached the bottom of the underground dungeon. It was pitch-black. I needed to locate Forbidden Wizard Erwin without alerting the others.
"System, check if there is an Elder-level powerhouse hidden here," I commanded silently.
"Ding! No Elder-level wizards detected."
The system’s voice echoed in my mind, bringing a wave of relief. I then used the system to scan the imprisoned wizards one by one.
It was the safest way to gather information. If I deployed Zero Puppet or Otto, they might be detected by the powerful wizards locked away down here.
As the scan progressed, the system fed me details on each cell. Just then, I noticed a particular cell set into the floor.
I hadn’t looked at the area closely earlier. I descended a bit further until my feet hovered just inches above the ground.
Stopping right in front of the cell, I saw someone chained up inside. At first glance, his silhouette looked remarkably familiar.
It matched Forbidden Wizard Erwin. A shock wave ran through my heart. I immediately had the system probe the prisoner.
"Ding! Forbidden Wizard Erwin located."
Hearing the prompt, my heart began racing. Finally, I had found him. The next challenge was the rescue, though I still had no idea how to break him out.
I kept staring at him. My gaze was so intense that Forbidden Wizard Erwin stirred, sensing my presence.
"Ding! An Elder-level wizard is approaching the cell area."
The moment the alert rang out, I vanished, returning to the safety of Gregor Mansion.
Forbidden Wizard Erwin lifted his head and stared into the empty space. He was certain someone had just been watching him.
Yet there was no one outside. A strange feeling settled over him. He couldn’t understand what had been happening on Prison Island lately.
Swoosh!
Elder Muriel arrived at the underground dungeon. She saw everyone standing at their posts; both the Forbidden Wizards and the Magic Lords were strictly following protocol.
Her brow relaxed slightly. She still hadn’t figured out who had triggered the earlier restrictions. Without another word, she descended into the well.
Swoosh!
Like a falling streak of light, she plunged downward. Her overwhelming aura was instantly sensed by every captive below. The already quiet dungeon fell into dead silence.
Boom!
She touched down heavily on the floor, sending a shock wave rolling through the corridor that rattled the bars of nearby cells.
Her gaze settled squarely on the large cell directly in front of her.
Forbidden Wizard Erwin felt her presence once more. He hadn’t expected her to return so soon. Opening his eyes, a cold light flashed across his pupils.
A spark of suppressed fury flickered within him. He had to endure this; only by surviving could he ever hope to escape.
Elder Muriel looked at the imprisoned wizard, greed gleaming in her eyes. Having recovered over the past day, she had returned to resume his torture.
Meanwhile,
Inside Gregor Mansion, I stood before the control mirror, closely watching the arrival of the Elder-level powerhouse.
