Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 2160: Elder Muriel Discovers the Weak Spot

Prison Island
Time passed.
I am looking at the control mirror, expecting someone to appear outside.
Yet, there is still no sign of the Elder-Level Wizard. If I wanted to, I could instruct puppet zero to watch over the control mirror.
Still, I have decided to monitor it myself. I don’t want to miss any opportunity.
As time passed, night arrived, but there was still no movement outside. No one appeared near the wall.
It has been several hours, and yet no Magic Lords or Forbidden Wizards have come near the well.
Meanwhile,
Elder Muriel had completed half the work. She had almost reached the triggered spot.
In the meantime, no one had caused any ruckus. The imprisoned wizards remained quiet in their cells.
Partially, it was because her mental power had already damaged them, and partially because no one wanted to be attacked again.
A few of them had died from the earlier mental assault. The rest kept quiet.
At the same time, in the deepest part of the underground prison,
Forbidden Wizard Erwin opened his eyes to observe the area from time to time. He could feel that the entire underground prison was quiet.
It was more unusual than before. He knew the prison was rarely this silent; usually, at least a couple of wizards would continue speaking.
Yet this time, the entire underground prison was utterly quiet.
Erwin guessed that the crazy woman might be here.
"Who could have set off the trigger?" he thought.
Outside,
The whole prison island was quiet. The Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards were stationed all across the island.
The wizards were on patrol duty. They assumed the Head of the Prison Island might summon them at any moment.
As time passed, the situation remained unchanged.
Among the Forbidden Wizards, an old man and two of his Magic Lord students were present on the island as well.
They were also shocked to learn that something like this had occurred during the old man’s absence. The old man feared Elder Muriel greatly.
However, he had not been on the island during the incident.
For now, he was safe. He hoped the crisis would end soon.
The next morning,
Elder Muriel located the triggered spot. The magical restrictions in this area were weak compared to before.
She breathed a sigh of relief. She assumed it was triggered because someone on the island had tried to examine the restrictions.
Whoever it was was not very powerful; she believed it must have been a weak Magic Lord. Otherwise, the backlash from the restrictions would have been much stronger.
After all, these were all Elder-Level restrictions.
Having figured this out, she retrieved her magical artifact. She activated it and began to reinforce the weak spot.
Boom!
The mirror artifact fired a burst of magic, striking the weak spots of the well. An enormous surge of Elder-Level mana began powering the restrictions.
As time passed, the mana restrictions grew stronger. The entire underground prison began to shake slightly, from the entrance of the wide well all the way down to its core.
Below the core lay nothing but seawater.
The entire well structure formed the multi-floored underground prison. The tremors slightly jostled the imprisoned wizards.
They wondered why the underground prison was shaking once again.
At the bottom of the prison, Forbidden Wizard Erwin opened his eyes. He felt the same tremor again.
This time, however, the tremor felt different. He noticed a change on the walls: the Elder-Level runes etched into them were now glowing.
Realization dawned on him. The next moment, fear crossed his face. He worried that the crazy woman might return here to torture him.
He was not alone; the other prisoners grew fearful once more, terrified of her presence.
Elder Muriel, however, was utterly exhausted. It took her a few more minutes to complete the work. Her mental power and mana were completely drained.
She needed to rest. Once she finished, the tremors ceased.
Swoosh!
She stowed the magical artifact and flew toward the entrance. In the blink of an eye, she reached the top and emerged from the well.
She commanded, "Everyone, report to the well immediately."
She spoke in a low voice, yet her words reached the ears of every Magic Lord and Forbidden Wizard.
Swoosh!
Within seconds, the wizards stationed across the island began rushing toward the underground prison.
In the blink of an eye, the Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards arrived one by one. Soon, everyone had gathered on the island.
They numbered over one hundred, twenty Forbidden Wizards and eighty Magic Lords.
Everyone stood assembled, looking toward Elder Muriel.
She said, "I am going to rest. Half of you will remain here, and the other half will patrol the border."
Hearing this, everyone obeyed her order.
Swoosh!
Elder Muriel departed, heading toward the main island office to rest.
Simultaneously, half of the assembly moved out to patrol the perimeter, ten Forbidden Wizards leading forty Magic Lords.
The remaining ten Forbidden Wizards and forty Magic Lords stayed behind, encircling the well structure.
They were relieved to have avoided punishment.
The Forbidden Wizards thought that Elder Muriel must have discovered the cause, which was why she had not vented her anger. For now, their task was to guard the area; they did not want another tremor to occur.
...
Gregor Mansion
In the control room, I began massaging my temples. I had watched the entire scene unfold.
I had expected her to leave quietly, not to make guard arrangements before departing. Now, fifty wizards surrounded the well structure.
If I showed myself right now, I would easily be spotted. It looks like I will have to wait for a few more hours.
Then, my gaze settled on the entrance of the well. I was already close to it; if I moved swiftly, I could slip inside.
I have a system to mask my mana signature. If I timed my move correctly, I could enter the well undetected.
A glint flashed in my eyes. The plan was solid, but before executing it, I needed to disguise myself.
Time passed.
The Forbidden Wizards and Magic Lords held their positions, none daring to grow complacent.
They carried out their orders obediently. If any of them were caught wandering off, Elder Muriel would execute them without a second thought. She had done so before.
