The protagonist agrees to help Head Roland of the Ironvale Family, who is suffering from corrupted mana after investigating the Black Mists Forbidden Land. Roland provides the protagonist with a map to the island and takes a special healing potion that begins to cure him. News of Roland's recovery spreads, surprising other families and frustrating those who had hoped the Ironvale Family would be weakened.

Border City-Ironvale Family

Time passed.

All the Ironvale Family members were happy, while I was in the room waiting for the zero puppet to arrive.

If I had known that Head Roland himself knew such information, then I wouldn’t have sent the zero puppet to collect information there.

When the time was closer to midnight, red smoke entered the room through the window gap.

Seeing that, I smiled and began to wait for the red smoke to revert to its original form. The red smoke then reverted to its original form.

"Master," the zero puppet greeted me.

"What did you find?" I asked the puppet.

The zero puppet then began to explain. As time passed, I realized that the zero puppet had returned with new information.

When the zero puppet finished the explanation, it returned to its red smoke form.

At the same time, I fell into deep contemplation. Now, I knew what Head Roland was hiding. It appeared that the Dusk Family had tricked Head Roland and the other two Magic Lords.

Two of the Magic Lords fell for their tricks and died as a result. Only Head Roland had been able to survive so far.

I frowned. I didn’t know whether it was an internal struggle or if there was something more to it.

"There is something wrong with the Dusk Family," I commented.

If I had time, I would have investigated the place. Since I knew the coordinates now, I should leave the place.

"Zero, let’s leave this place," I said to the zero puppet.

The zero puppet obeyed. I looked around before my gaze fell on the desk. I walked up to the desk. Then I saw a pen and paper on the table.

I took the pen and wrote a thank-you note. It was a note to Supreme Wizard Talia. I thanked her for the hospitality.

After doing that, I opened the large window and used my flight ability to leave through the gap. My gaze swept across the place.

It was nighttime. The whole estate was sleeping.

Swoosh!

I had already used the system to shield my mana, so no wizard powerhouses in the family could sense me.

The red smoke was already moving alongside me. We were so close to the gate.

[Ding! Three Magic Lord threats were detected.]

I heard the system’s voice in my mind. I stopped and began to look around the place. Then I saw a few dots coming towards the area.

The zero puppet saw that there were three Magic Lords.

Seeing that, I landed on the ground and hid behind the building.

"Zero, if they try to harm this family, then kill them," I said to the puppet.

The zero puppet obeyed the order. The red smoke then left the place. I would have confronted them, but I didn’t know whether these people had any contact with the Covenant.

The Covenant must not know that someone from the Silver Tower is trying to rescue Forbidden Wizard Erwin.

Swoosh!

Three Magic Lords entered the estate. They were standing in mid-air, looking towards the mansion.

A figure walked out, opening the main door. It was the figure of an old man dressed in the Ironvale Family uniform.

He saw three people standing in mid-air. His eyes turned cold. He then flew into the sky and appeared before them.

At the same time, Family Head Roland in his room opened his eyes as well. He looked around and saw that his wife and daughter were asleep.

He felt the presence of intruders. And the intruders were not ordinary people, but Magic Lords. He could guess who they were.

He had received gifts from two of the wizard families. Only the other three wizard families hadn’t sent any gifts.

But he didn’t expect them to appear in the middle of the night. He got out of bed. His movements alerted the others. Supreme Wizard Talia and her mother, Florence, woke up as well.

"What happened?" Florence asked.

Hearing that, the expression of Head Roland changed drastically.

He said, "You guys stay here. I’m going to welcome our guests."

His tone sounded serious.

Hearing that, Talia and her mother, Florence, obeyed. They could guess who the guests were. After all, they were only Supreme Wizards.

Outside

A few minutes earlier,

The old man looked at the three people in anger. The silent confrontation was over.

"Head of the Dusk Family, why are you here at an untimely hour?" the old man asked.

He was the Magic Lord Elder of the Ironvale Family.

Hearing that, a brown-haired old man grinned. The other two Magic Lords were near him, smiles on their faces.

Seeing that, the old man grew angry. He really couldn’t hide his anger anymore.

"I guess you guys have finally revealed your true colors," the old man said to them.

"Where is he?"

"I heard he survived," the brown-haired man said.

He was the Head of the Dusk Family.

Swoosh!

A figure rushed in their direction. The person was none other than Head Roland. He appeared right next to the old man.

"Are you alright?" the elder asked.

"I’m doing fine. So what are you guys here for?" Roland turned towards the others.

He looked at the brown-haired man.

The faces of the three Magic Lords changed. They saw that Head Roland was really doing fine. There were no black veins covering his body.

To think someone could heal corrupted mana-the background of that person had to be terrifying.

The three Magic Lords looked at each other. They had come here for two things. One was to check the condition of Head Roland.

And they wanted to know about the helper. But they didn’t know whether Head Roland would say anything.

"You have recovered. So who helped you?"

"Not many people can cure your injury?" the Head of the Dusk Family asked.

Hearing that, Roland smiled. The elder next to him knew about the situation as well. Obviously, they couldn’t reveal the information.

Head Roland was more scared of the masked man than of these people. They didn’t know that the red smoke was around them, listening to their conversation.
