After arriving in Bellmount City, the protagonist and his companions check into a hotel. While securing the room, the protagonist discovers and removes hidden recording devices. His companions then disperse to explore the city, including Lady Caitlin who visits the local market.

Outside Land Territory

The Senior Wizard, Amaira, and other Covenant members were hiding in their hideout. The mission in Darkmoon City was a great debacle.

Not only had they failed to complete the mission, but they had lost the Magic Lords as well. The three Magic Lords were now captured prisoners.

They didn’t know whether the Mage Union had found any clues. If they were able to do that, their organization would face a severe threat.

They had been waiting these past few days to get orders from the higher-ups, but it appeared that the command above them had gone silent.

They were not able to contact them.

The Senior Wizard regretted it. He should have persuaded the Magic Lords more, but they had looked down upon him and the members. They hadn’t listened to him.

Now they were stranded and hiding inside one of their hideouts. He needed information; he didn’t know what was going on outside.

He looked at the members. He could only trust one among them, and that person was none other than Amaira. He then told Amaira to go out and gather information.

Amaira agreed. She had long wanted to go outside to collect information. If the situation was good, they could go outside to explore the place.

...

Bellmount City

The members were all doing fine. They were spending the nighttime exploring the city alone, buying the items they liked.

They had also tasted the food there. At the same time, the Zero Puppet was on an active mission, collecting information from public places.

Since it was a neutral city located far away from the magic city border, not many people visited this place. The city was quiet and peaceful.

Meanwhile, the Zero Puppet in red smoke form was looking for Covenant members, even though there was no sign of the Magic Tower Wizards.

It was possible for the Covenant people to conduct operations here.

After a few hours of searching, including the City Lord’s office, the Zero Puppet in red smoke form was unable to find anything.

It showed that the city was actually a safe place, far away from the chaos and visitors of other cities.

Morning Time Came

Everyone returned to the hotel. If they didn’t, their mana cores would hurt badly. Since they had returned on time, they avoided such a situation.

Inside the hotel, I saw that everyone had come back on time. The Zero Puppet had arrived earlier and reported everything. Now the others had arrived as well.

I had already put the Zero Puppet inside the system space.

Next, I took the others inside the Gregor Mansion one by one.

15 minutes later,

I left the city. After flying for a few miles, I brought the raven aircraft outside. Next, I started flying in the raven aircraft.

Swoosh!

The raven aircraft flew across the blue skies. I put the aircraft in stealth mode. There was no exact destination, but I had set the direction.

Days passed

The aircraft flew non-stop. Fortunately, there were enough supplies for practice. I had been spending time increasing my mana core.

The super-grade mana stones were a big help. So far, no problems have come. If this situation continued, we would arrive at the Wave Nation in a few weeks.

I had come across many cities in between. If there was any need, I would stop to take a break. But the members had been doing isolation training as well.

They would come out of their rooms once or twice a day. Seeing that, I stopped bothering them; if they could raise their strength, it was also good news for me.

A few hours later,

It was nighttime, but the weather outside had changed drastically into a storm-like situation.

Powerful black clouds appeared out of nowhere and covered the endless stretch.

Thunderclap!

It didn’t take long for a loud thunderclap to occur. Powerful black and blue lightning spread across the sky.

They appeared like veins in the sky. Each flash of purple lightning contained an insane amount of destructive power.

If they were to strike the raven aircraft, it would definitely damage it.

"System, what’s the power of the lightning?" I asked the system in my mind.

[Ding! The destructive power of the lightning has reached Grade 10. The power might increase, causing mana disruption in the area.]

I heard the system’s voice in my mind. Hearing that, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle. I had underestimated the power. I thought I could use a magic spell attack to remove the destructive clouds.

But I was wrong. I recalled reading that some natural disasters were hard even for Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards to block.

Rain!

The next second, a heavy downpour of rain began. The sound of thunderclaps increased.

I didn’t want a thunderbolt to fall on the raven aircraft.

Swoosh!

The next second, I appeared inside the system space along with the raven aircraft. I landed the aircraft on the blue grid.

Thud!

I stopped the aircraft before exiting. I saw the Zero Puppet in red smoke form. Next, I brought the Zero Puppet back to the Gregor Mansion.

We entered the control room to see the situation outside. I saw that powerful lightning was still flashing. Seeing that, I thought I had made the right decision.

Next, I told the Zero Puppet to monitor the situation: if the clouds cleared, inform me.

After saying that, I went back to my room.

The morning time came.

I walked outside to check. Then I came across Lady Caitlin in the lobby.

"Have we reached the destination?" she asked.

"No, it will take a few more weeks," I replied.

"If there is any big city ahead, I might make a stop," I added.

"Good," she replied.

Next, I went to the control room to check. The Zero Puppet in red smoke form was hovering before the mirror.

My gaze fell on the mirror. I saw that the situation outside was the same. It was morning, yet the sky was covered in dark clouds, making it look like evening.

Rain!

The heavy downpour of rain was continuing. Seeing that, I made the decision to fly alone, not in the aircraft.

10 minutes later,

I appeared outside and started using my flight ability to move forward. Raindrops were falling on me, but my extreme speed kept me from getting drenched.

Thunderclap!

All of a sudden, a thunderbolt came toward me. My senses warned me; at the same time, the system also alerted me.

I evaded the thunderbolt in time.

As time passed, I saw no end to the black clouds. They were still stretching endlessly.

One after another, lightning bolts came at me, but I evaded all of the attacks in time. None of the attacks were able to touch me. It didn’t take long for me to see bright clouds.

I spotted blue skies at the horizon. I increased my pace and darted toward the area. Soon, I emerged from the dark clouds.

The blue skies greeted my eyes. Seeing that, I didn’t bring the raven aircraft out. I continued to use my flight ability.

Forenoon,

Soon, I spotted towering buildings ahead, a sign of the next city. My eyes flashed with interest.

After several days of non-stop travel, I had finally spotted a city. I approached it. When I got closer, I noticed wandering wizards outside.

They were queuing in line to enter the city. Compared to Bellmount City, this city was bigger, but I didn’t know the reason for the crowd.

Not only were there wandering groups of wizards here, but I also spotted wizard groups of decent strength ready to enter the city as well.

I immediately understood something was going on. Soon, I reached the area. Then I took a mask from my storage bracelet and wore it on my face.

Then I walked up to the queue. I started listening to the conversations of the people. It didn’t take long for me to understand that some kind of festival was happening inside.

A lot of events were taking place at this time, so people from nearby cities had come. The journeys were trips of several days.

None of the cities were located close to each other. After hearing the ins and outs, I stood in line. One interesting thing caught my attention:

There was going to be a wizard market event featuring both barter and direct purchases. I had heard from the crowd that even Supreme Wizards had appeared in this place in disguise.

So I thought it would be good to check out the place first. It didn’t take long for the queue to shrink. I saw people using mana stones to bribe the guards.

I also learned about the city’s name: it was actually called Market City.

They didn’t want their identities disclosed. They were giving out mid-grade mana stones; I saw them give two mid-grade mana stones to a guard.

Seeing that, I followed the same method to go inside the city.
