Magic Lord Gaston is desperately defending Darkmoon City against a powerful attacker, causing widespread destruction. Meanwhile, Magic Lord Boris searches for the city's second Magic Lord after killing the first, hoping to secure the city quickly. Back at their hideout, Covenant members are filled with fear as their plan to attack a hospital backfires, alerting the Magic Lords. The Senior Wizard admits their mission is likely to fail, and reinforcements are expected. As the city flees, Magic Lord Duncan arrives and learns of the ongoing battle and the destruction.

Darkmoon City

Duncan heard the words. He was shocked. He couldn’t believe someone had dared to attack the city. He then told them to be safe before leaving the place.

Swoosh!

He immediately used his flight ability and started rushing off toward Darkmoon City. The man was stunned. He wanted to say more, but before that, the Magic Lord had left.

He wanted to share that Duncan Hospital was attacked as well. He then shook his head and resumed the journey with the others.

....

Meanwhile,

Magic Lord Gaston cast another magic spell. He didn’t hold back this time. Dark clouds gathered above Magic Lord Lars and Sergei.

Lars had withstood the spell attack without collapsing. Seeing that Magic Lord Gaston was going for another spell attack, his expression changed drastically.

He had withstood the climatic attack with some difficulty, and he didn’t expect the enemy to prepare for another attack so quickly.

He turned toward Sergei in anger. Sergei had failed to hit the target. The expression on Sergei’s face did not look good either.

He didn’t expect the enemy to be so swift. He knew he was fighting a veteran. A simple magic spell target wouldn’t be enough, so he gave chase.

He was going to disrupt Magic Lord Gaston from casting spells.

But Gaston had already anticipated it. He was not staying in one spot; he was moving here and there, making it hard for the enemy to catch up to him.

Boom!

On the other hand, the dark clouds had already gathered above the 200-foot-tall tree. All it needed was action from Magic Lord Gaston.

Slice!

Magic Lord Gaston was ready for the attack. Standing in mid-air, he was about to release the spell attack.

Puchak!

Just then, someone slashed him from behind. Blood spurted from the wound. He was caught off guard. When he turned around, someone punched him right in the face.

Smash!

Gaston lost his balance in the air. His body went rocketing backward before crashing into a tall building.

Magic Lord Lars and Sergei were stunned. They didn’t know who had made the sudden attack. But when they both looked toward the sky, they saw black monster hands and monster pupils.

"Boris is here," Lars said.

Sergei nodded his head.

Swoosh!

Boris appeared before them in a flash. He looked toward them, then glanced at the massive 200-foot-tall tree to the side.

"What are you guys doing?"

"Can’t the two of you kill a single Magic Lord?" Boris asked.

"He’s got strange climate magic. He anticipated our attacks and didn’t enter close quarters," Lars said to him.

"We are fighting against the Black Tower Wizards. They have experience. One of them hasn’t shown his presence yet, but we have already created a mess. The tall tree is going to send a signal to the others," Boris said to them.

He was disappointed with them. The tall tree would give away the attack on the city.

"Cancel your magic," Boris said to Lars.

"Okay," Lars said.

Boom!

The next second, the 200-foot-tall tree began to crumble. The mana power holding it began to disintegrate.

It caused a shockwave to spread through the surroundings.

Slowly, the size of the tree reduced. It didn’t take long for the whole tree to disappear once the mana inside it was completely gone.

Lars then asked, "What do we do next?"

Boris heard that, but he remained silent. He didn’t know what to do. He then said, "The second wizard has yet to show up. I’m afraid the attack on his hospital was heard by him. He isn’t appearing now; he might be gathering support first."

The faces of Lars and Sergei changed drastically.

"What do we do now?"

"If we stay here, we will be caught by the Magic Tower Wizards," Sergei said.

"Yes, Boris. If the Forbidden Wizard makes an appearance, we will be dead for sure," Lars said.

"Harumph!"

"You guys think I didn’t pay attention? I just don’t know what to say to the higher-ups," Boris said.

Boom!

On the other hand, Gaston felt severe pain in his back, as if something had torn through his flesh.

Buzz!

Right then, his device buzzed. He checked the device and saw the call was from Duncan. He immediately answered it.

"Where are you?" Duncan asked.

"Come to the middle of the city. There is a big ruin here," Gaston said.

"Okay, I’ll be there in a minute," Duncan replied before ending the call.

Gaston then took a healing potion from his storage bracelet and consumed it. He immediately felt the cool energy enter his body.

It provided him with some relief.

Gaston emerged from the rubble. He felt the pain in his back as he tried to get up. He hadn’t expected a third person to appear.

He realized that the third person must be the one who had gone after Duncan.

He climbed out of the rubble and reappeared in mid-air the next moment.

Swoosh!

He then saw the three Magic Lords together. His gaze fell on the person who had attacked him. He saw that the person’s right hand was a monster hand.

"Transmutation or Bloodline," he muttered.

No wonder the person had managed to escape his senses.

While he was looking at them, his gaze was felt by Boris, Lars, and Sergei. Boris turned around and looked toward him.

"You didn’t die," Boris commented.

"I won’t die before you guys. So tell me, are you guys from the Covenant?" Gaston asked.

Hearing that, the faces of all three changed drastically.

They hadn’t expected the other person to know. Boris turned toward Lars and Sergei.

Both of them shook their heads, which meant they hadn’t revealed the news. Boris then thought of the field wizards; he wondered if the information had leaked from them.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..." Gaston let out a laugh.

He was right in his guess. He had wondered who had the guts to attack Darkmoon City, especially to have the guts to attack Duncan Hospital.

Now he knew the truth. He hadn’t expected these people to set their sights on Darkmoon City first. Everyone knew that Darkmoon City fell under the jurisdiction of the Black Tower.

Despite that fact, they had still chosen to attack.
