Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 2091: Part 3: A Fierce Battle Erupts

Darkmoon City
Several silver-white needles surged forward. They reached the target in a flash, but Gaston was already prepared. He moved away, evading the attacks one after another.
Boom!
The needles didn’t stop. When they missed the target, they struck the buildings and infrastructure behind him. Entire buildings were pulverized to the ground.
Gaston’s face did not look good. He could tell that the battle was causing casualties. It had only been a few minutes since the battle began.
Yet the surrounding structures within a hundred meters were destroyed.
Swoosh!
The white needle went past him again. He had already sent a request for help. He was hoping that someone would come soon.
"Where is he right now?" Gaston asked himself.
He was thinking about Duncan. Such a big fight was happening, but there was no sign of Duncan. Then he recalled the words of the two people earlier.
Someone else had told them about his whereabouts. There could be one more enemy. He might have gone after Duncan, but Gaston hadn’t heard any sounds of fighting coming from other places in the city.
Swoosh!
He evaded the attacks before preparing to use another spell. He needed to use magic spell attacks to withstand them. Otherwise, his death was certain today.
Meanwhile,
Magic Lord Boris was looking for the second Magic Lord on the City Lord’s side. He had already killed City Lord Conrad. His team members were handling one Magic Lord.
If he found the other one and finished them off, they could take over the city easily. But that was not happening. Boris could not find the second one.
He was worried that the second one had already left the city to get support. Their mission was to take over the city.
If the Magic Union was alerted, they would have no choice other than to abandon the mission.
He then continued with his search. He was not going to give up that easily.
...
Hideout
The Covenant Members had all returned to their hideout. Some of them were injured. The others remained unscathed, including Member Amaira and the Senior Wizard.
But none of them were relaxed right now. Their body language was tense. Everyone’s eyes and faces were filled with fear and apprehension of what might happen next.
Amaira took a deep breath and said, "I have told you guys before. Darkmoon City has businesses run by Black Tower Wizards."
"While we were having discussions with the elders earlier, the Magic Lords from the Black Tower entered the city. We targeted one of their hospitals, it will alert the Magic Lord," Amaira added.
"We already encountered one of them. Fortunately, the elders appeared at the last moment to save us," the injured wizard said.
The injuries were caused by the coercion of Magic Lord Gaston.
"Harumph, we have three Magic Lords on our side. They have only two. Our elders will win easily," the other injured wizard said with a snort.
Hearing that, Amaira shook her head and said, "Don’t you see the scenes outside? A fierce battle is taking place. Buildings are toppling down, and people are fleeing the city."
"They must have requested help already. If reinforcements come, we will be caught as well," she added.
Hearing that, everyone’s faces changed drastically. But no one tried to discredit her words, because her words were true.
The higher-ups had given the mission to take over the city, which meant to control the city slowly. But the elders had chosen direct action instead.
And their plan had badly misfired. The presence of the City Lord and the Magic Lords had ruined everything.
Quiet.
Silence filled the room. The members looked towards the Senior Wizard. Everyone had thought that the plan of the elders was crazy.
Still, they had decided to go along with it. They didn’t expect this outcome.
The Senior Wizard felt everyone’s gaze on him.
He then said, "The elders will win the duel, but the mission is going to fail. The Mage Union might have gotten the news."
"The Black Tower Wizards are under attack. I’m sure their reinforcements are on their way," he added.
Gasp!
Hearing that, low exclamations sounded. They didn’t expect the Senior Wizard to admit it. If he said so, then the situation was even worse.
"Senior, what should we do?"
"Should we leave the city?" one of the members asked.
"If we escape without telling the Magic Lords, we will be killed later. We cannot move until they say so," the Senior Wizard said.
Amaira was in deep thought. She was not going to wait for her death, but she would follow the Senior Wizard for the time being.
....
Outside,
A shadow was flying fast through the sky. It was moving towards Darkmoon City like a shooting star. But it was not a shooting star, but an actual person.
The person was none other than Magic Lord Duncan.
Magic Lord Duncan drew closer to Darkmoon City. He would get there in a few minutes. But it didn’t take long for him to come across many vehicles.
They were moving in one direction in large numbers. Not only vehicles, but he saw many families traveling in groups.
From their reactions, he realized that they were afraid.
Swoosh!
He then thought of something before slowing down to stop in front of them.
The people who were fleeing were stunned by the sudden appearance of a wizard. Then they saw the person’s face.
Some of them recognized the person immediately. They thought reinforcements had arrived.
"Magic Lord Duncan!"
"Lord Duncan is here!"
The wizards uttered in surprise. Hearing the words, the other wizard groups stopped moving as well. They turned around and saw the person.
They recognized Magic Lord Duncan as well.
"What’s going on?"
"Where are you guys going?" Duncan asked.
Since they recognized him, he assumed they were all from Darkmoon City.
Hearing that, the people were taken aback. One of them collected his thoughts and said, "Lord, the city is under attack. Lord Gaston is fighting against two people."
"A 200ft-tall magic tree appeared in the middle of the city and destroyed several buildings," he added.
