Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world Chapter 618: The chaotic household [3]

"Let me guess... either you found your long-lost twin sister, that father of mine got so horny over you that he used some government or alien technology to clone you so he can have a threesome with both versions."
Florence closed her eyes for a brief second and exhaled.
Amelia simply blinked, then turned her head to look at Florence with an expression that clearly said, ’This is your daughter?’
"...Kiera," Florence muttered, opening her eyes. "Please never repeat that second theory in front of anyone inside that house."
"I’m being serious," Kiera insisted, still pointing between them.
"Look at this! Same face! Same height! Same everything! If this isn’t a clone situation, then what is it? Parallel universe? Magical twin? Did Brandon finally break reality?"
Amelia tilted her head slightly "I am not a clone."
Kiera stared at her. "That’s exactly what a clone would say."
Florence shook her head helplessly and replied "She is not a clone, Kiera. She is... an ancestor."
Kiera’s pointing finger slowly lowered.
"...Come again?"
"An ancestor," Florence repeated, sounding exhausted already. "From five hundred years ago. Her name is Amelia Bleaufort. She is... connected to our bloodline."
Kiera looked at Amelia.
Then at Florence.
Then back at Amelia.
"What do you mean? Huh?"
"The woman standing next to my mother is my many-times-great-grandmother, and she looks exactly like my mother, and she’s here at our house or what?"
"Yes," Florence said.
-_- Kiera was silent for three full seconds.
"Wait, what?... I already have enough problems with the current family structure. I am not adding ’Grandma who looks like Mom’ to the list tonight."
Florence glanced at her daughter with a dry smile "Kiera... it’s a long story. A very long one. And most of it is still being explained inside."
---
Inside the house, Brandon stood near one of the side couches speaking with Scylla, Camille, and Lisette.
At that moment the door opened and Kiera stepped inside.
She had barely processed the two identical blondes outside.
Her mind was still turning over the words "ancestor" and "five hundred years" when her eyes swept the living room and immediately caught on the unfamiliar group of women standing with Brandon.
Five new women.
Kiera stopped just inside the doorway.
"...Okay," she said slowly. "What is this now?"
Brandon turned at the sound of her voice. Scylla, Camille, and Lisette followed his movement, looking at the newcomer.
Kiera walked to him in confusion "Who are ? Suddenly there are two Moms in the front yard and some random women standing around you."
"Did you open a portal while I was gone? Is this a new collection?"
Brandon exhaled "Kiera-"
"No, seriously." Kiera stepped further into the room.
"First the ancestor who has Mom’s face. Now these people. Are they also from five hundred years ago? Please don’t say yes. My brain is already at capacity."
Across the room, Eira who was just recovering from her earlier spiral, looked up and muttered,
"Welcome to the club."
"Come here, I will explain even though I don’t understand what’s happening either."

Kitchen
Elize was standing at the counter with Ravene, quietly preparing drinks for everyone.
Charlotte leaned against the opposite counter with her arms loosely folded, watching the two of them work while the low murmur of the living room drifted through the open doorway.
Ravene poured another glass "They’re still asking the same questions in different words," she muttered.
Elize gave a small nod, "It will take time. Five hundred years is not something the mind accepts in a single evening."
Charlotte’s golden eyes lowered slightly.
In the living room,
Near one of the couches, Yverine, Dhayun, Jiyeon, and Eira gathered around Kiera.
The newly arrived sister sat forward with her elbows on her knees, listening as the others tried to explain the bootstrap paradox, the closed loop, the women from the past, and the bloodline complications in the most coherent order they could manage.
Eira gestured "So basically he went to the past, lived there for years, became part of the family line, and then came back."
"Which means some of us are technically related to him in two different ways at once."
Kiera stared at her.
"...I hate every sentence you just said."
Dhayun sighed "Join the rest of us."
Jiyeon offered a weaker, sympathetic smile while Yverine continued trying to keep the explanation somewhat structured.
Kiera listened, but the look on her face made it clear her brain was still rejecting large parts of the information.
A short distance away, Scylla, Camille, and Lisette sat with Freya and Selene, chatting amongst them.
Selene stayed close to her mother, occasionally glancing toward the other group curiously.

On a wooden bench set along the edge of the grassland, Brandon was lying with his head resting in Rheanne’s lap.
Soft wind moved through the field in slow waves.
Rheanne’s fingers moved gently through his hair, stroking from his forehead back toward his nape.
Brandon turned slightly into her, burying his face against the soft warmth of her abdomen.
She continued caressing his hair as she looked out across the dark field.
He breathed slowly against her "That went... quite better than I expected."
Rheanne glanced down at him, and a soft smile touched her lips.
"Yeah. I am glad. You have been carrying this for a long while. Now that it’s finally off your shoulders... relax a little, Kael."
He gave a small nod and shifted closer, nuzzling more into the warmth of her abdomen.
The years had changed many things between him and Rheanne.
In the beginning she was just the first awakener, the distant goddess figure, and he the unexpected second awakener who had fallen into her era.
Over the decades, through battles, long journeys, quiet nights, arguments, silences, and the slow building of the Holy Land... the space between them narrowed until almost nothing remained.
She watched him grow from the wary young man into the man who is now resting in her lap.
It is not an exaggeration to say that she knows him better than any of his women, even compared with the women from his present household.
He loves them all and he is genuinely fond of everyone...
But with Rheanne, it has always been different...
There are things he had only ever spoken of to her.
With her, he can speak freely and tell everything that is in his mind.
He knows that his other wives also love him so much, and he loves them dearly too... but Rheanne is just...
Like a partner in crime.
Almost without thinking, he raised his hand and gently caressed her cheek.
Rheanne looked down at him, and a soft giggle escaped her "What are you thinking about?"
Brandon’s thumb brushed lightly along her skin.
"...I hate myself," he muttered. "I promised myself I would love everyone equally. And that I wouldn’t let any single person stand higher than the rest. But..."
He trailed off.
Rheanne’s expression softened, and she leaned down, pressing a slow, gentle kiss to his lips.
"There is no such thing as equal love..." she murmured against his mouth.
"That idea is a delusion. You have many wives. It is impossible to love every one of them in exactly the same way and equally."
"There will always be favorites and there will always be people you love more deeply than others."
She kissed him once more, "You are not wrong for feeling that way. That is simply human nature. Pretending otherwise only creates guilt where none should exist."
Brandon’s hand remained against her cheek as he looked up at her.
The honesty in her words settled over him more heavily than any comfort could have.
"...Even if it hurts the others if they ever knew?" he asked quietly.
Rheanne’s fingers resumed their slow path through his hair.
"The truth would hurt more if you kept forcing yourself to perform a balance that does not exist," she answered.
"Loving someone more does not mean you love the others less than they deserve. It only means your heart is not a machine that distributes the same measure to everyone. No one’s is."
"I have known for a long time that my place with you is different. I never needed you to pretend otherwise."
Brandon closed his eyes briefly, letting her words sink in.
He shifted closer, pressing his face more firmly against her as her hand continued its gentle movement through his hair.
