After the ruins were opened, no one actually entered the portal right away.

Instead, all of the different sects sent people back to gather the disciples that would be entering the ruins.

It had been agreed that they would allow the disciples to explore the ruins and that each sect would accept whatever happened in the ruins as fair competition. Everything that they obtained would be theirs and they contribute to the sect or keep it for themselves.

Of course, they didn’t mind that these things went to the disciples since they were the core disciples of the various sects.

Even if they were to bring these things back, they would have most likely gone to them anyway. So it was better to let them fight for the things that they would be taking back with them.

The disciples that were brought here were naturally filled with excitement since these were ruins from an ancient sect. They knew that these kinds of ruins would be filled with all kinds of treasures for the taking.

But that wasn’t the only reason that they were excited.

Once I said this, I opened up the portal once more for them to enter.

As soon as the portal was opened, the disciples didn’t waste any time charging into it in droves. It was as if they all wanted to be the first ones to enter the ruins, but there were some that had a better position than the others.

But in the end, all of the disciples were able to enter the ruins.

It was only after they were all gone that I looked at the sect masters and elders to say, "Shall we go in as well?"

All of them nodded in agreement as they moved with me towards the portal.

This was the main reason that they had me make that speech earlier.

Basically, they were trying to restrain me by making me a part of the elders with that speech. If I were to make a move against the juniors, stealing things from them from these ruins, then I would just be ruining my own reputation.

At the same time, they weren’t coming with me because they were planning on exploring this place with me. They were coming with me so that they could keep an eye on me.

If it was anyone else, they certainly would have been angry with these sect masters and elders for doing such a thing. It was just that when it came to me, the things that they were doing were completely useless.
