Adam faced Relana's relentless assault, his body enduring a brutal beating. Encouraged by the Silver Weaver, Adam realized he didn't need to follow Relana's rules, as she depended on him. Breaking the agreement to fight without abilities, Adam bit down on Relana's wrist and then struck her with overwhelming force, preventing her from regaining her power.

Thrust!

Adam’s palm pierced Relana’s abdomen, causing a stream of blood to gush out. Her wrist was wounded as well, and her eyes trembled. She hadn’t expected the situation to take such a turn, nor that Adam would act so quickly that she wouldn’t be able to regain her power.

The shock lasted only a fraction of a second, as Relana sprang into action. She leaped backward, channeling her energy into her wound. This made the process of regaining her strength even more difficult, but she couldn’t allow such a wound to remain open.

Right now, she was only 10–15% stronger than Adam in terms of power level, which meant she couldn’t ignore the heavy bleeding.

Tremble.

Her muscles trembled, slowing the bleeding and preventing most of the blood from spilling out while her energy created a protective patch over the wound.

Now, Relana had to set about regaining her power, but unfortunately for her, Adam was already standing before her.

He was doing exactly as he wished. In this, his desire and the Silver Weaver’s desire coincided.

Essentially, Adam had come here without knowing what awaited him. Sure, he suspected that if Gladius had appeared, a trip to the atelier couldn’t end with simply choosing a suit. But he had no idea about the details, or that someone would be testing him.

He wasn’t going to hold back. All he needed to do was get faster and faster, not letting her regain her power, otherwise, her wrath would come crashing down on him.

"She... She still hasn’t realized what just happened. I can tell by the look in her eyes that she’s confused. She clearly didn’t expect me to refuse to play by her rules. Well, she’s not the first to make that mistake, and she certainly won’t be the last."

The crimson gloves covered Adam’s hands as blood flowed from the tubes, transforming into a multitude of cross-like blades that, at Adam’s command, flew toward Relana.

Relana’s pupils narrowed as she jerked backward, coming close to one of the stands.

If she couldn’t regain her strength, she would have to use a weapon to stop Adam and buy herself some time.

"I don’t know what happened to you, Adam, but..." Relana blinked as her amber eyes shone brightly. "You’ll regret what you’ve done."

Tap.

She gripped a standard axe tightly as her aura grew stronger.

"I haven’t decided yet whether it’s your arrogance or blind rage, but you seem to have forgotten just how great the difference in our skills is!" Relana’s voice boomed as she stomped her foot on the ground.

A multitude of magic circles appeared on the floor as dozens of iron blades burst forth in a wave, moving toward Adam.

Relana narrowed her eyes as she took control of her energy flows.

’He’ll have no choice but to retreat. I’ll be waiting for him there and finish it all with a single strike. He won’t be able to escape me!’

Step.

Adam stepped forward.

Step. Step.

Then, once more, and again. He had no intention of stopping or retreating as he continued moving straight toward the iron blades rushing toward him in a wave.

Relana’s eyes widened as blue energy coursed through Adam’s body, transforming in the blink of an eye into a flame swirling around him.

The flame created a path for him, and now he didn’t need a needle or any other abilities. Only his will and energy. That was enough to activate an ability he’d previously struggled to control.

STEP!

As soon as Adam took his next step, the iron blades collided with his path.

Even at her current power level, Relana was stronger than Adam, and her energy control was on a whole different level.

If they were both capable of creating iron blades, Adam’s blade would be fragile and blunt compared to Relana’s.

But... that didn’t matter now, because Adam’s path stood against the blades.

Crack!

The wave of iron, composed of dozens of blades, shattered into fragments as an energy pulse erupted from Adam’s path.

Before Relana could even process what was happening, Adam was right in front of her as his fist slammed into her jaw.

BAM!

The impact rippled through her face, making her skin tremble as her pupils darted from side to side.

Suddenly, her eyes snapped back to normal as she turned, blocking his next punch with the handle of her axe.

"Hmm... Does he want to do the same thing I did to him? I doubt he has the speed and mastery for that. I’ll just block all his punches and wait until he runs out of steam."

True, Adam couldn’t match the speed and power of Relana’s earlier punches, forcing Adam’s mind to focus not on the pain but to immerse itself in the inner space.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

No matter how fast Adam attacked, Relana deftly dodged or blocked his punches, using both her hands and her axe. It seemed that another half-minute at this pace, and Adam would inevitably have to stop, even if only for a moment, and that would be enough for Relana.

"Ah...?"

Relana gasped as blood oozed from the tubes on Adam’s gloves. The red threads didn’t surprise her, she knew Adam possessed this power, but she hadn’t expected what happened next.

The red threads moved toward Adam’s arms, covering his forearms and upper arms and creating tension between two bands through several threads, like springs.

To some extent, it was a simple exoskeleton designed to add inertia, and thus speed, to his arms, so that his fists would always strive to strike the target in front of him.

Adam had never used his threads this way before. He lacked the mastery, and only the red threads were suitable for this, since they could take any shape Adam desired.

Tremble.

Adam’s hands trembled as Relana’s eyes filled with realization.

"Wait... Is he...?"

BAM!

With newfound speed, like two harpoons, Adam’s fists plunged into Relana’s stomach, forcing her to double over.

Blood gushed from her mouth while her pupils trembled.

From the look on Adam’s face, only one thing was clear, he wasn’t going to stop, ever.
