Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1965: Island A165
Previously on Endless Evolution: Last Star...
The bull, who just a moment ago had been sleeping peacefully in the middle of nowhere, was puzzled by Adam’s appearance. But there was no need to worry, since Adam hadn’t come here for that bull, but for something else.
"145th Island..." Adam muttered, looking at the rock.
This meant that the radius of his aura field extended to about 20 islands in every direction, since he had previously been on the 125th Island.
"Hah... That’s better than I expected," Adam exhaled.
Silvana appeared to his left, a slight smile playing on her face.
"Exactly. I knew you could do it!" she encouraged him.
Adam smiled, touching the rock.
"Hmm... Krador said that Breydar is somewhere between A150 and A180. That means if I stop at Island A165, I’ll have access to all the islands from A145 to A185!"
Silvana nodded.
"Indeed. What’s more, even if he’s gone beyond Island A180, as you suspect, it still won’t be a big problem. You’ll just need to make one more attempt. Sure, it’ll take us some extra time, but we’ll definitely find him!"
Adam gulped as he remained silent for a moment.
Then, he turned to Silvana and gave her a strange look.
She tilted her head to the side. "Is something wrong?"
"Well, you’ve changed since you ignored me for so long. Did something happen at the Citadel that I don’t know about?"
Silvana blushed as she looked down.
"I just missed you. Besides... When you get back, I’ll tell you everything. You’ll have questions for me, but I promise I’ll tell you everything. I did this for us!"
Tap.
Before she even noticed, Adam had wrapped his arms around her.
"I know. I won’t lie, I’m curious to find out what happened to you. You’ve changed not only on the outside, but on the inside too. What’s more, you’ve become much stronger, I can feel it. But you’re right, right now I have another matter I need to finish."
Silvana buried her face in his shoulder for a few moments before nodding and looking at the rock.
"145th Island. Good job, Adam. That’s an excellent result."
"Yeah, I know. But what’s next?"
Silvana shrugged.
"We have no choice but to check all the monsters whose auras are at the Baron Level. Also, this monster must be on an island and not underwater. I doubt Breydar has any reason to be at the bottom of the Gray Sea."
Adam touched his chin with a pensive look.
Silvana was right.
At this distance from the shore, and especially near Island A200, more and more monsters were at the Baron Level.
But most of them were Dormant Monsters that were in their monster forms. They had either been born with such power or had started at the Black Threat Level and, over many years, managed to reach the Lord Level by accumulating vast amounts of energy.
Breydar was different. He was an Awakened Monster, and he should have been on the island, not beneath it.
Adam took a deep breath.
"Alright, I get it. This plan should work."
Before leaving, he looked at the gray bull.
"What about you? Any ideas? Have you seen Breydar around here?"
The bull merely blinked a few times, confused. All the gray bull wanted at that moment was for Adam to leave it alone so it could go back to sleep.
Adam smiled bitterly.
"Well, it was worth a try, even though the result was to be expected."
He shrugged before taking off, heading forward.
One island after another whizzed by beneath him as he gradually approached Island A165, which was to be his starting point.
Given the limits of his aura field, starting from this island would give him the best chance of finding Breydar.
Whooooooosh!
Adam accelerated as he flew over the gray clouds, and ahead of him appeared a massive island with a tall stone peak rising from a broad, dark hill full of sharp rocks.
This island caught Adam’s attention not only because of its size but also because of one detail.
The flowers, emitting a soft amber light, were arranged on the island in such a way that they formed three digits - 165.
"Huh, I wonder who did all this? Even just to carve a number into tree bark or a rock, someone still had to do it, let alone something like this!"
Still, Adam wasn’t complaining. He was lucky, after all. Now he knew where the island he was looking for was located.
He soared into the air and extended his aura field a short distance. He simply wanted to find out if anyone was on Island A165.
When his aura field swept over the surface and found no one, Adam was ready to land on the island, but in the next moment, he sensed something.
"What is that...?"
Beneath the island was a single aura that was currently moving slowly from one place to another. The movements were calm and even casual, as if a person were preparing something in the kitchen.
Adam looked at the amber flowers, then at the aura, and nodded deeply.
"Sure, it would be silly to expect that no one is keeping an eye on this island. Prasyx has his island, so... other monsters might have one too, right?"
Technically, no monster could own an island in the Gray Sea. Any monster could take any island for itself at any moment, of course, if that monster was strong enough to do so.
But if it was a monster like Prasyx who possessed great power, then as long as he was on his island, it was unlikely anyone else could take it from him.
"What do you think, Silvana? Maybe I should look for another island?"
She touched his shoulder, looking intently at Island A165.
"No. I think we should go there. That aura... It’s similar to Prasyx’s. It’s calm yet powerful. Most likely, it’s a hermit just like Prasyx who’s simply going about his business here."
Adam nodded.
"Good. If he lives here, he must definitely know what’s going on around him. After all, this is his home, isn’t it?"
